Werala Beach Resort

I can’t say enough about how great our experience was! Sunith and his family are amazing people, friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy during our 10 day stay. The rooms are good, with all amenities we needed. The food that they make, 3 meals a day if you want, were delicious and local. Everything is very fairly priced, definitely great value. The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained and close walking distance to the lagoon and activities. I deeply recommend choosing this place for your stay in Kalpitiya. Everything I wrote is from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for the hospitality!

Really lovely resort with a service minded and very helpful staff. They serve delicious meals for a very good price. Lots of other restaurants, bars and resorts to visit - and a great dive center near by

Rooms are not fancy but clean, with air conditioner. Owner and a main host is very friendly and helpfull. Food was great.

I would highly recommend staying at Werala Beach Resort. The owner Sunith and his family are the most kind people you will meet. They always helped me with everything without asking anything in return. We became good friends. The place is clean, near the beach and has beautiful scenery. Especially the restaurant is worth mentioning, the food is incredibly good. Enjoy your days here at Werala!

The host was very friendly and he fullfilled our every wish and was available to help us all the time. The food was amazing and the beach is very close and could be reached by going to the ankle-high lagoon.
He also organized a dolphin watching tour where we could see the dolphins swimming and were even lucky enough to see a blue whale.
Only thing i would recommend is to take an air conditioned room as it's a very hot place and be careful about the mosquitos. There is a net mounted on top of the bed.

Super fabulous stay. Great hospitality. So much spacious and comfortable. Relaxing calm environment. Peaceful stay. We are so grateful for that yummy barbecue party. Recommend this fantastic place for everyone.

Nice friendly family resort.

This place is a small family owed resort with 8 rooms. The place is really nice and close to the sea. Clean and basic rooms with attached bathrooms. Bathrooms are very simple and provide you only basic requirements. At the moment no A/C rooms and all rooms only having fans. Visited during April holidays and its quite hot during night but other seasons it said very cool during night with wind. These is a separate small pantry for each block with basic items including a small fridge. Nice dining area in middle of the property.

The Host is very friendly and helpful. Five stars to the food and food was prepared by owner’s wife which was really delicious. Enjoy lots of sea foods. Food prices are very reasonable with good quantity. Breakfast was included to the rate and it was delicious. For meals you can order to your requirements. There is a small lagoon next to the property which is good for a bath but its recommend to walk to sea which is next to lagoon where beach is really nice and good to have a sea bath than lagoon. Location is very popular with foreigners who travel for kitesurfing as the area provides very good lagoon for kite surfers.

Overall experience was really good and spend quality time with very good food. Kids enjoyed a lot with playing in garden and in the beach area.

The best place in Kalpitiya I found. Nice rooms for the price given, delicious breakfasts, kitesurfing spot proximity.

After I requested the kitchenette to be cleaned the family were so accomodating with the included breakfast and helpful, good location for the price.
