Ultimate Fitness Sri Lanka

The staff at bootcamp are wonderful, as was everyone I met in Sri Lanka. I cannot recommend this bootcamp though. The promotional material mentions unlimited SUPing, kayaking and volleyball. Not true. We got to SUP twice in a dirty lagoon with not quite enough water and we got caught in fishing nets and knocked off the SUP. The ocean was too wild for SUPing at the time of year we were there (July). Despite asking about kayaking (apparently they’re inflatable & you need to ask staff to blow them up, I never sighted them though) and volleyball multiple times we didn’t get to play at all.
The cross fit sessions and the staff who run them are great, it’s just that they’re only twice per day and there’s absolutely nothing to do in between.
You often can’t even sit outside the room as you get eaten by mozzies and bothered by bugs. So everyone ends up retreating to their very modest accomodation and hiding away between meals and the two fitness sessions per day.
Also, no sorry, but it’s the wrong time of year for dolphin excursion, even though it’s still on the schedule and none of this is mentioned prior.
Also, when this was mentioned to management they completely dismissed everything and basically said too bad, no refunds, not that I actually asked for one.
There’s a pool about a six minute walk away you can use for a price. It’s quite nice.
The crows are many and loud.
I can’t recommend UF and although I’ll go back to Sri Lanka, I’ll never go to an Ultimate Fitness Bootcamp again, nor would I recommend it. At the very least they need to be more honest and manage expectations better.
We left a week early and had a much better time and were much more active travelling around and seeing the rest of the country and meeting lovely people.
