I caught the Hakone Sightseeing Cruise during a day trip from Tokyo. It was the highlight of my visit to Hakone, and the ships really are a sight to behold.

Although you don’t get the best view of Mt Fuji from the water, the excitement of being on such a large ship with the surrounding beauty of Lake Ashi more than makes up for it. The journey from one side to another takes around 25-30 minutes.

Really fun experience, free with the Hakone day pass! The ship has abundant seating and cruises past the two torii gates on Lake Ashi with an excellent view of Mt. Fuji if traveling from the Motohakone to Togendai port.

the ship is amazing, and the whole sail is even better. The lake, trees, clouds, mountains, you can enjoy everything within 1 ride. Though you will have to take a careful look at the timetable, and which pier to get off

Wasn't expecting to get a ride in a pirate ship in such an unlikely place. Was an enjoyable part of our trip.

It’s like an old fashioned ship but it’s a modern ship. Very clean and tidy, well maintained.

Upper deck is the best place to take the photos but you may required to be on foot for whole of the trip. If you want to sit, go lower decks- ample sitting are there.

In the upper deck, some front area is booked for special price tickets with better view.

It will take 30-40 minutes to complete the tour. The surrounding views are really stunning. Sometimes Mt. Fuji is visible from the deck.

It was such a happy experience! Really felt like we were in a somewhat high-class pirate ship lol. We paid ¥1,200 for the ride and it was worth it! View was so nice from the weather deck!

We got the Hakone Freepass and this Sightseeing Cruise was included. We were super excited and our expectations were definitely exceeded. We liked that there were pirate decorations all over the ship. Like a treasure chest, canon and barrels. We got to enjoy nice views and have a great time.

To go sailing with this historical ship you shouldn't miss it.

Particularly in picturing both the inside and outside of this ship which could make us like the "Jack Sparrow" in the Hollywood movie, name it! Pirate of the Caribbean.

Very cool ship. Can be very crowded so if you are traveling with small children keep an eye on them and try to leave strollers, there is no elevators to the upper deck for economy class and again it can be crowded. I saw tourists with strollers have a lot of trouble getting their strollers up and maneuvering it around corners, bumping into people and rolling away because of the wind. The wind can get pretty strong and cold depending on the season. A wind jacket would be very helpful. First class and economy tickets will be offered. If I remember correctly, the first class ticket is nearly double the economy just for entering and leaving the ship first and complimentary drinks and snack. First class ticket is not worth it in my opinion for a 40 minute ride. Overall it's an amazing ride and amazing view.

Great place to take the sightseeing cruise around the lake. The route was not long, but it’s enough to enjoy the stunning view.

The cruise it self was pretty neat and relaxing. You. Can upgrade to 1st class if you like for an additional 600 yen

Good fun and relaxing. I reccomend 1st class for just a bit more money because it's less crowded

Nice trip with great views. The pirate ship theme is sort of strange. Upgrade to 1st class is worth the small extra charge

We did the day pass and hoped on the cruise the moment we got into town. It was good. Plenty of room when we went, nice view and breeze.
