This is an amazing stay! Many tourists from different countries stayed in the hotel and I worried the public bath or public areas would be messy but it didn't happen. Staff is friendly and shows the professionalism. A manager in restaurant speaks in good English and very kind. He is detailed mind and takes care of customers’ needs. I also appreciated a staff staying in lobby. When my husband and I took photo at the poolside, it’s windy and cold in the morning, she came to us and helped us to take good photos. I appreciated all your team members provide excellent services and contributed our pleasant stay! I definitely will come again in future.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The rooms were clean, the hotel was beautiful, staff was very professional, and the food was delicious. The hotel also mailed me some items I left in my room to my next hotel and I received it the next day! Highly recommend this place. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

We had an amazing stay here. The view over lake Ashi is beautiful. The hotel is walking distance from the ropeway and pirate ship cruise on the lake. There are public onsens as well as the option to rent a private onsen. The breakfast and dinner buffet was excellent.

This was one of the best experiences I've had in Japan. The hotel is very well mantained and new. Food is great, the location is right next to the cable car and pirate ship boarding stations and the staff is very friendly. I would like to leave a personal thank you to Jasca and Furuya from the reception desk. They went the extra mile to help us having the best stay possible.

Staffs are very professional. Modern architecture and facilities that are perfectly clean and comfortable. Exceptional food provided in dinner and breakfast, definitely top 10 in my 20 years of travelling in Japan. Lovely view of the lake from my room. Located right next to the Togendai Station, it could not have been more convenient. That could be a deal breaker in choosing hotels, especially when you are travelling with young/aged family members.

However, the hot spring (onsen) area could use some more facilities like massage chairs and game facilities for families with young children. Also, the hot spring area is quite slippery. Trust me, I have been to more than enough Japanese hot spring hotels to say this.

Overall, a very satisfying stay. Meets all my expectations, and exceeds it with the dinner.

We had a pleasant stay at Hanaori. The staff was very friendly, the room was cozy and the beds very comfortable. The hot tub on the balcony was also a plus and needed after some hiking in Hakone. Also a nice touch were the Yukatas that you could wear at all times during your stay here.
The food was very pleasant to look at and it was delicious, even though it was a little too much meat/fish for our taste as we like to have some vegetarian options as well.
Also the light switches in the room glow very bright during the night which was a bit annoying. Other than that everything was perfect. The view from the restaurant is priceless.

Overall, a very nice stay over 2 nights. Nice and very clean onsen. Good buffet spread although the items are the same each day. So 2 days worth of it was fine. Any more and it would get boring for us. Room size is good enough for our family of 4 but sofa bed was a bit hard for my daughter.
Location is excellent with a short walk to the Togendai Ropeway and Pirate ship station.

The moment you enter the hotel, you will be greeted by the amazing view that this place can offer. Cannot say enough good things about this place.

First location. It is far. But the positive thing is, they have shuttle service! Get off at Odawara station, and contact the hotel (we used Agoda) for shuttle bus times. Make sure you reserve, since this place is quite popular, the shuttle buses do fill up. It takes about 50 minutes - 1hr to get from Odawara station to the hotel (of course dependent on traffic).

As we arrived earlier than check-in, we had a chance to explore around Hakone. The bus services around Hakone are easy to use (IC cards needed).

The rooms are quite spacious. The open air bath is amazing (it can get quite hot, but pairs well when the temperature gets cool). Just fyi, they do provide toothbrush, tooth paste, PJs, hair brush, hair ties. They have snacks, tea bag, and coffee available.

Check out the outside of the front reception area (both day and night give a different vibe), as you have an area where you can sit and dip your feet into hot onsen water as you enjoy the view.

Perhaps even more memorable than the scenery is the exceptional food. We chose both the dinner and breakfast buffet. Both were probably the best hotel food we have had. For dinner they focused more on Kaiseki style. It was so hard to go for seconds, as there was so many selection making it difficult to fill up more! Breakfast was great (although I highly recommend the dinner, as it was better of the two).

We stayed one night, and wished we could extend. To end things off, we once again reserved a shuttle bus service to transport us from hotel to Odawara station. Very convenient, but once again, reserve, as it can be completely full.

5 stars all around. VERY clean, outstanding customer service, very nice staff, and delicious breakfast and dinner. The private onsen is a must, and the public onsen supplies great amenities, including a Dyson hair dryer. Great beer and sake selection. The only downside I do have to mention is the very strict 3:00 check-in, it creates a lot of lobby traffic and a room full of anxious guests just dying to get comfortable after the traveling to get to Hakone. They do offer a shuttle from Osaka station, so plan ahead. We will definitely stay again!

Amazing experience. It’s said on google that the hotel is only 2 stars but I think it’s 4 stars based on the quality of the place, the location and the service (also the price lol). We love everything from the view to the onsen, the only thing they lack is a place for lunch. They only serve breakfast and dinner at the restaurant on the 4th floor. There’s no other place to get some coffee or lunch inside the hotel. But the location is amazing, right next to the cruise & rope way station so plenty places to eat from. I love that they provide yukata for all guests too.

Overall, the hotel is good, but you can't expect a good view like hotels in Kawaguchiko.

First, the location of the hotel is convenient. You can walk from the Tōgendai Station, which only takes 10 minutes. Moreover, you can see the ship come and leaves, so it is very easy for you to take your time and take the ship you want.

However, the room is large, but you can only see the lake, not Mount Fuji, which means the view is just so-so.

The dinner and Breakfast are Buffet style, which is very interesting for a hotel like this. However, no worries about the quality of the food. They are very delicious. Each food dish is small, but be careful not to take so much. It is very easy for you to eat a lot.

The design of the Onsen is perfect, as you will not be worried about getting cold when transferring from the indoor onsen to the outdoors. If you stay during Winter, you can see many stars using the outdoor onsen, which is impressive. However, be careful as the temperature of the onsen is high. You might not be able to stay in for so long.

Also, you will notice the design in front of the lobby, as many people are taking photos there. You can ask hotel staff to help you take photos.

If you want to try hotels near Hakone lake, I recommend this hotel. If you want to stay in a hotel which can see Mount Fuji, you might need to find another one.

Excellent hotel. Completely make you feels so welcome. From the 1st welcome to bidding farewell.

Just remember to reach out to hotel as early as possible to pre book a seat for shuttle between Odawara to hotel. And also return leg. Good location too.

I will give 100 marks for this hotel!

Services are excellent. The front office staff is professional and friendly. I didn’t know there is a Odakyu highway bus at the Togendai station can go directly to Shinjuku. Thankfully I have asked the reception lady for help that’s really solved my planning concerns.

I like the ambiance and design of the hotel. You will see many wooden pattern and “Hana” all around hotel area which shows the oriented concepts of the hotel.

The Onsen is spacious and I really enjoy it. I think many guest loves the Onsen too, especially the foot Onsen outside the lobby.

The lake view is spectacular and peaceful that makes the hotel unforgettable.

I definitely would come again for relaxation with my family next time!

Our journey across Japan involved stays at four different hotels, but none compared to the experience at Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori Hotel. This exceptional establishment, managed by the outstanding Manager Shima, set a new standard for hospitality.

Shima's extraordinary care for guests was heartwarming. When he learned about my son's illness, his prompt and thoughtful actions, like checking on us and arranging care while we fetched medicine, were immensely reassuring. His hands-on involvement, even in tasks like clearing dishes at the restaurant, reflected his dedication and the ethos of the hotel.

The customer service was impeccable. Despite several changes to our booking for a private onsen, the staff responded quickly and efficiently, showcasing their commitment to guest satisfaction. This responsiveness was a constant even before our arrival, setting a welcoming tone for our stay.

The hotel's strategic location next to the bus terminal and station greatly facilitated our explorations in Hakone. The staff's helpfulness extended beyond the hotel premises, offering valuable guidance on local amenities like pharmacies and contributing to our family’s memories by helping take photographs.

Of all the hotels we stayed in throughout Japan, Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori was a clear standout. The fusion of attentive service, excellent location, and the genuine warmth of the staff created an unforgettable experience. This hotel is not just a place to stay; it's a highlight of the travel experience in Japan. We eagerly anticipate our next visit to this remarkable hotel.

This was truly a lovely, serene spa getaway and exceptional hotel experience. Loved that the breakfast and dinner were included with the price since it is in a less central area with only a few restaurants that were often closed by mid afternoon. Free hotel Shuttle bus which needs to be booked in advance for pick up/drop off to Odawara station also very helpful since it would otherwise be a bit hard to get to. Once there, location is in a quiet part of Hakone, yet central enough for easy access to explore Lake Ashi by boat or to take the ropeway /gondola up the mountain to see views of Mt Fuji, or explore Gora, or Owakudani volcano area. I would most definitely love to stay here again in the future!

(the hotel needs to fix their profile on Google, which shows this as a two star hotel, when it is definitely a four-star hotel)

Not sure why is this a 2-star hotel on google maps but we had the best stay at Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori. Everything was great from check in to check out. Buffet had good variety as well. Yukatas were given so it was nice to wear it during breakfast and dinner times. Onsen amenities were great as well! Easily accessible from Togendai Station. Only comment i would suggest is to provide more shuttle services from and to Odawara Station. Will definitely stay here again when we next visit!

Excellent service, cordial staff and beautiful location and hotel. Within walking distance to the gondola that brings you to Owakudani. Japanese Buffet with much variety but it is the same everyday.

Amazing experience. The onsen has 4 different baths and the outdoor view of the onsen is beautiful. Buffet for both dinner and breakfast is delicious and there's a huge variety of dishes to choose from. Will definitely come back again.
