THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto

My husband and I came here to stay for our first wedding anniversary and was pleasantly surprised. It's on a quiet street and while walking down the walkway to the entrance, we were intrigued that it was a small boutique hotel and closeby the train station or walking distance to spots we wanted to visit. The workers there were very friendly and welcoming as we entered and provided us drinks and treats upon arrival. This place is small so was not expecting our rooms to be too large too since most hotels/stays in Japan are pretty small. When we got to our room, it was pretty spacious! Very modern but mixed with some traditional hints of Japan here and there. We were welcomed with delicious sake from Kyoto and desserts. This was probably the most spacious Japan room we have ever stayed in and it was beautiful. I appreciated the acupressure foot rest at the sink to make getting ready or winding down productive when brushing. Towels were soft, complimentary room snacks, in-room teas that were simply fresh and tasty (and it's loose leaf!), and coffee straight sourced locally. Since it was still the pandemic, i appreciated the deodorizer and cleaning spray they provided for us to spray down our belongings when returning home from a long day too. We'd recommend and would love to stay here again one day.

Had an amazing experience here. Price is high but comparatively speaking it's a much better deal than the other luxury hotels I've stayed at in Japan. If you want a large hotel with tons of facilities maybe consider somewhere else, but this is a great, cozy little hotel with great staff and has everything you need. The theme seems to be relaxation (no TV!); from the room lighting to the sauna, bathtub, etc., everything is catered to a quiet, relaxing experience. My girlfriend and I both felt completely refreshed after leaving. Beds are great too. Room size is quite large for Japan (we stayed in the cheapest room type, the "Hollywood"), and the setting is modern Japanese.

We stayed here on New Year's day so there was also complimentary new year's sake and we received a going away gift of bath salts, sweets, etc. Mini-bar (drinks, alcohol, and delicious strawberry daifuku) was also complimentary, which was a nice surprise. Check-in was also an amazing experience in and of itself with tea, etc. Truly felt like a 5 star experience, but in a homey, cozy atmosphere.

Breakfast was amazing as well. Portion size wasn't huge, but there was shabu shabu, steak, and various Japanese dishes. Everything was excellent, especially considering the price. (2x the price of a typical hotel buffet, 10x as good).

If you have time, the sauna is also definitely worth visiting. It's on the rooftop but is enclosed in an acrylic bubble so even during winter it's warm. The view is nice and it has its own little garden so it's a wonderful experience for a couple. It requires reservations on check-in / day of use, but wasn't very busy when we went and the staff were flexible with times because of that.

Two stops from Gion-shijo station or a 20 minute walk to the busiest shopping area in town, the location is quiet, in a residential area, but still close enough to most places in Eastern Kyoto to be convenient.

Not sure what the other poster is on about dirtiness but it's a new facility and was very clean. Only negative is that the staff forgot bathroom slippers so I had to call and ask for some. I was a little surprised by the lack of TV, but it was nice to disconnect for a bit. Just be aware of that in advance.

No on-site parking, but there are a couple parking spots about 2 minutes down the road.

Friendly staff, great amenities, good location. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, private. The restaurant serves multi-course Japanese breakfast and dinner, make sure to sign up in advance. The hotel is close to the main train station, busy downtown, and also to a few temples within walking distance.

Had a very nice stay here. Brittany, at the front desk was very generous with her time and helpful with planning the days and my exploration of Kyoto. The place itself is clean and nice. It is well located, and I can recommend it highly.

Small but luxurious botique hotel in eastern Kyoto. The beds are very soft, and comfortable. The towels and rentable bath robes are also soft and fluffy. The Cypress bath is a unique and wonderful experience.
The hotel is a must for art lovers, with unique themed dyed silk pieces in each room, and a beautiful garden at the entrance and on the roof.
Walking distance from the Keihan lines and multiple bus stops, and a short taxi ride from Kyoto station for easy access. Also very close to Kiomizudera, Gion and the Kyoto city Museum. Breakfast is only Japanese food, but the quality is top notch and the volume will ensure nobody leaves hungry.

Now I know what my dream bathroom is

조용하고 깨끗하고 직원들 굉장히 친절하고 가족여행도 로맨틱 여행도 완벽할수 있는 호텔.
리뷰들 중에 곰팡이 냄새가 난다고 불평하는 글을 볼수 있는데 그건 히노키와 다다미 방의 나무 냄새입니다. 은은한 나무 향과 조용한 음악과 조명은 마음을 편안하게 해줍니다. 참고로 티브이가 없습니다. 하지만 전혀불편하지 않습니다.

初めて利用しましたがスタッフの対応も良く部屋も綺麗でとても快適に過ごせました。やはりインバウンド需要を睨んでか和モダンを前面に押し出したデザインで、小ぢんまりとしたホテルなので狭さは感じましたが十分満足しました。駐車場はなくコインパーキングなのでご注意下さい。美味しい食事に檜風呂でゆっくりくつろいだ良き旅となりました。

恋人と長期休暇の旅行で訪れました！
雰囲気もよく、電話対応も素敵でした！！
テレビがないのはレビューなどをみて下調べして確認し、それでも泊まりたいと思ってました。
実際泊まったらお部屋もお風呂もとても綺麗で素晴らしかったです！サウナに入れなかったのは残念でしたが、
そこを差し引いても星5にします！！

7月30日に私の誕生日を祝うため、彼女がこの宿をとってくれました。最初は京阪の七条から向かいましたが、五条の駅からの方がわかりやすいかなと思います。
まずついて涼しいロビーでゆっくりグリンティーを飲みながらチェックイン。外国の方でしたがとても流暢な日本語で日本人のこちらよりも丁寧な日本語で恐縮してしまいました。
夜ご飯の予約があったので急いで部屋をでると説明するとサッと部屋の説明だけしてくれてタクシーの手配まで申し出てくれました。
ここのコンセプトが知らず、部屋の癒しのBGMは早々に消してしまいました。お部屋はとても清潔でお風呂も広くとても良かった。ウェルカムカードもあり手書きでおもてなしを感じれた。
アイスを屋上で食べて、いい歳した2人が線香花火でどっちに火つけるんかではしゃぎ、それも楽しめました。
朝は豊国神社に参拝にいき、朝ごはんは仕出しの弁当（そこもかなり有名なところでした）とても美味しかった。
全て満足で最高の誕生日でした。
彼女も楽しそうでとても良かったです。
今度は早めに予約して、肉割烹で晩御飯、朝ごはんはコロナあるでしょうがネットに載っている大きなだし巻きが彼女は食べたかったみたいなので今度は俺が彼女を連れて行きますのでよろしくお願いします。

京都市の街中の静かな所にあり、お部屋も広くサービスも行き届いていて心も落ち着きました。京都に泊まるならお勧めできます。

酒店服務人員親切, 因為這次入住需要酒店幫忙求婚特別佈置，感謝Geoffrey Ashford回覆我的email，酒店熱心的幫忙，令到我可以順利完成這次的旅程。房間十分寬敞，環境十分乾淨，
冰箱內有免費飲品可以享用，泡完房間內的溫泉再享用一罐真是一大享受，十分推薦這酒店，服務和設備也是我見過最好的！希望每次來日本都可以到這酒店！

一泊二食付きで利用しました。
竹をテーマにした内装、お部屋の染物がとても素敵でした。
檜風呂は広くて綺麗でした。ヒーリングミュージックを聞きながら入ることができ癒されました。
テレビはないですが大きなプロジェクターでYouTube等視聴することができます。
お料理がとても美味しくて量もちょうどよかったです。夫は少し足りなそうでした。朝食からしゃぶしゃぶを頂きましたが、重くなく完食できました。
スタッフの方の接遇も素晴らしく非日常を過ごすことができました。

京都旅行で一番楽しみだったと言っても過言ではないホテル。

畳とお風呂に癒されました。季節のサービスがあるようで、今回はフロントに梅酒と梅ジュースのサービスと梅の花が入ったバスソルトと、お菓子をいただきました。

レンタルにてプロジェクターが使用でき、少々置く場所に困りましたが非日常間がとても楽しかったです。
また泊まりたい宿No.1です。

フロントの方はアメリカの方とのことですが日本語はもちろん中国語も流暢でフランス語も話せるとのこと。笑顔が素敵で気持ちのいい方でした。
お部屋は畳で靴を脱いで上がれるのがまず嬉しい。備え付けの日本茶は茶葉で煎茶、ほうじ茶、玄米茶と３種類用意されており、煎茶とほうじ茶を頂きましたが雑味がなく上品なお味で美味しかったです。お風呂は檜風呂で檜の香りがよくゆったりと浸かることができます。照明の具合が良いのか、ホテル内で撮った写真は写りがいい気がしました。
夕食はお肉のコース料理、朝食はお弁当風のものを頂きました。夕食で印象に残ったりるのは、牛肉と鮪とイカとウズラの卵のユッケ。それと最後にすき焼き風煮で残った卵をかけた卵かけご飯。朝食では鮭の西京焼き。夕食でも朝食でも土鍋で運ばれるご飯はつやっつやに輝いて美味しかったです。
いいことばかり書くのもアレなんでなにか欠点を思い出そうとしましたが、特に見つからず、、、強いて言うなら近くに駐車場はあるものの満車の場合もあり、車で来るのはちょっと不安かな。電車だと駅から近くで大変便利な立地です。

夫と記念日旅行で利用しました。
お食事所のふたごさんは非常に上品でちょうど良い量でした。
また機会があれば寄りたい料亭です。

お部屋は和の基調で過ごしやすく、スタッフの方々もとても気持ちの良いサービスを受けられました。
強いて言えば、机が小さかったこと、駐車場や場所が分かりにくいので車で来るとなるとちょっとわかりにくいかもしれません。

他の宿泊客には、一切会うことなく、ユックリと一日を過ごすことができました。部屋も広くてきれいで、部屋のお風呂も、ヒノキの香りがする綺麗なままのお風呂でユックリ出来ました。テレビがない代わりに、プロジェクターが設置してあり、楽しめました。又、機会があれば、訪れたいですね!

4ヶ月後、再訪しました。コロナが落着き、宿泊客が増えたようです。
再訪の目的は、レストランの肉料理を食べたかったことと、バンブースイートを利用することでした。肉料理のふたごは、前回の貸し切り状態とうってかわって、満席状態でした。本当に柔らかくて美味しいので、コロナが落ち着けば、また流行るだろうとは思っていましたが、流石です。宿泊客以外のお客様が多いと感じました。予約しないと、今後は、食事は無理かもしれません。
部屋も広くて、満喫出来ました。お風呂も広くて、温泉では無いようですが、湯温調節もできて、快適でした。
また、来ようと思います。

🍵フロント前のソファーでウエルカムドリンクとして紅富貴茶をいただきました。寒い日でしたし、ホテルに着いてすぐに温かいお茶をいただけたのはありがたかったです。

😲母語が日本語ではないスタッフの方々の日本語の流暢さに感動！聞き惚れてしまいました。

💌部屋に入ると「いらっしゃいませ」ではなく、「京都の別邸へおかえりなさいませ」と書かれた葉書大の色紙がありました。梅の俳句も添えられていました。

🛀檜風呂
大きな浴槽で体の芯まで暖まりました。
天井も高く贅沢な空間でした。

🌃屋上庭園
夕方と夜に屋上庭園に行きましたが、やはり幻想的なのは夜ですね。行灯がよかったです。梅も花と蕾のどちらも見られてきれいでした。

📗備え付けの棚には、美味しいお茶、コーヒー、お菓子の他に、本も数冊ありました。その中の『日本の色辞典』と『古代染色二千年の謎とその秘訣』という本がとても興味深かったです。
仕事で色について少し調べる機会があったのですが、
「夢こうろ染」を見ていると、自分が知っている色の名前の数、認識している色彩の乏しさを実感しました。

🛏ベッドが柔らかすぎず腰が楽でした。
畳にベッドがあるのも新鮮でした。

😄久しぶりの娘二人との旅行でした。
お部屋の冷蔵庫の日本酒で女子会?!酒盛り?!をしました。お酒の瓶も盃もおしゃれでした。普段はお酒を飲まず、特に日本酒は味も香りも苦手なのですが、今回初めて美味しいと思いました。
またよく考えたら次女がお酒を飲むのを初めて見ました💦コロナ禍の一人暮らしで、会える機会があまりなかった…😢長女からのプレゼントの旅行は、この春、大学卒業、就職をする次女を祝う場にもなりました。
