Kijima Kogen Park

Experience is never-ending, this place is foreign-tourist friendly (based on my experience), some staff able to explain how to play in english. Heartwarming, good food, affordable free pass. If I have any chance I would like to go again.
The most memorable ride was the wooden rollercoaster jupiter and the newton drop 🎢

A small amusement park that is fun, clean, well maintained, and friendly staff. Price is quite high for what it offers.

We've been a couple times...last visited in 2009. Both times we went during the weekday during the school year so the park was basically deserted. The surroundings are very beautiful and the park is nice, the rides fun. The kids are no longer kids so we'll never go back but running around the empty park is still a great memory.

One of the best amusement park. There were different types of roller coasters. Jupiter and the 360 roller coaster is the best. So many attractions. You need a whole day to finish all the rides. We had a great experience and lot of fun. All the rides are exciting. Some attractions have to pay. There are lots of restaurants and a souvenir shop. Love the park and want to visit again.

Many attractions and you can spend a whole days with your family especially for young kids
The driving test is so impressive, my kids enjoyed a lot and they finally got the driving license.
Some attractions have to pay but it is worth paying that, the treasure hunt is a good game for kids.
Water park is also excellent and many facilities there, it is a cool period for kids especially after playing a whole day in summer.
Some little game like the fun shooting and ball shooting to win a prize are also funny. You have to pay for that but you will eventually get some prize even you don’t win.
Restaurants there are nice and you have many different choice such as bbq buffet, hotdog, hamburger, etc...
photo taking staff are very professional and they always captured the best moment for you. I am so willing to pay for those photos (which I usually didn’t) to keep those precious moment.
Highly recommended especially you have young kids. My kids enjoyed a lot and we left until the park closed.

Plenty of rides and attractions in this medium sized park in the mountains. It's definitely geared towards children more but even adults can enjoy what they have to offer. The prices are fair and the value you can get out of it is just great.

Awesome park with variety of flowers and bushes! We had a great time with our friends to visit this place. It has an amazing view of flowers and colorful gardens! The staff also organizes a small car 🚗 inside the garden to see around! The lady, that we took a ride with was so nice and polite, even we knew very little Japanese, she was trying to talk with us about the flowers 💐 and showing us around! There is also a greenhouse to nurture many kinds of flowers, you can buy or take for free! A must go place in Kyushu Island 🌴! Price for one adult ¥1500. Kids ¥600 and infants free. However you have to pay for each attraction separately, which costs from ¥400-¥1000 per person.

It's a great park to have fun with friends and good for families

The seats of jupiter coaster are uncomfortable. However you can survive.

Most of rides requires minimum of 120cm. There are some few rides for kids lower than 120cm but very boring.

A few attractions allow childrens lower than 120cm if accompanied with adult.

The 3D theater is very cool. No size or age restrictions. The waiting time worth it.

Gold rush coaster is very slow and boring, even for kids. The tracks are all rust and dated.

Pirates shooting is boring and finish fast.
The thing goes too fast.

All others attractions are ok, nothing to complain.

Summarizing, worth it to bring kids. Despite of bad points, there are much more positive things than negative.

Enjoy it.

Buying a daypass is really worth it, especially if you’re a children. I love the rollercoasters and the one ride called “Newton”.

Kijima Kogen Park was the first theme park we visited in Japan. The park is pretty decent and resembles a typical european Tivoli, with a beautiful garden and a great selection of amusement rides. The park is famous for its wooden roller coaster Jupiter (one of the longest in the world and the first one in Japan), which sadly was down due to maintenance whilst visit. But even without a ride on Jupiter, it was quite easy to spend a full day at this high plateau full of fun; at least, we have a reason to come back to visit Beppu someday.

You must arrived in the morning when they are opened. Buy the pass ticket so you can enjoyed all game. A lot games for kids, and also for adult. If you want to test your adrenaline, here are the place.

Nice amusement park. Staff is so frinedly. We are love this place. You can ride bus about 30 minutes from beppu station.

Nice Theme Park for family and friends! I personally love the Cherry blossom trees in Spring and Ginkgo trees in Autumn!

So FUN! It feels special being out in the mountains away from civilisation, and enjoying a world of fun all to yourselves. The food staff are also very lovely!
