Suginoi Hotel

Absolutely best hot spring hotel in Beppu. Perfect hot spring, perfect dinner buffet, perfect breakfast buffet. Every colleagues provides nice service. We definitely will visit again next year.

Overall was a great experience.
This place is like a resort that has everything. Very family oriented. We travel with elders (70+) and young kids (3-9 yo) and they all enjoyed the time we spent there. Buffets were one of the highlights but I’d love it more if they change the menu every other day. We stayed there 3 nights and had to eat the same food everyday was kinda too much. Onsen was great. It wasn’t too crowded (I went there before breakfast and dinner time.) Hopefully in the future they do something with the mat in the changing room because it’s quite stinky. We booked standard room, big and comfy for 3 people. We even had outdoor bathtub.

This place is fantastic! We stayed in the recently remodeled Sora kan. Total luxury and comfort from start to finish.
The rooms were super clean and stylish, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The staff provided quick, friendly service, and some of the staff could speak English, Korean, Mandarin, and possibly other languages. Great wifi and lots of optional activities (bowling alley, arcade) for an extra charge.
The buffet was incredible. Lots of variety and high quality.
The hotel has great views of Beppu Bay or the mountains, from the rooms and also the outdoor pools and hot springs.
Overall, it felt like staying at a nice place in Vegas or Tahoe, but in Japan.

You can stay at the hotel the whole day without going out to the city. Onsen, of course, the main purpose of the trip but there are more things to spend time with your family such as swimming pool, bowling, dinner(buffet) and so in, with new building facilities. If you plan to stay in Beppu, one night for sure, it's very recommendable to stay at Suginoi Hotel.

Very happy with my stay. The room is new and clean and the bed is comfortable. Dinner is very delicious but 90 minute limit is too short especially if have young kids. By the time we get food for kid and feed them, parents will not have enough time to eat. But breakfast can be improved if it has more non-Japanese breakfast option. Onsen is good experience too.

This hotel is a resort and the facilities are very good.
The hot springs are a bit crowded but it is also very big. The hot springs are a very good experience in January.

The room is good, clean and big. The food here is various and delicious. But i think the water temperature at the onsen is not high enough.

I was visiting Beppu. I bought a ticket for Tanayu/ The aqua garden for 1600¥ (prices can be higher). You can enter here even if you are not a part of the hotel resort. They are giving you towels, all amenities are there (shampoo, body soap, conditioner, shaver, lotion, water fountain, swimsuit dryer, combs, locker). Provenscia french soap was great !
Tanayu is a great Onsen with a beautiful panorama. I recommend to go at the sunset/night to have a great view on Beppu/ Beppu's tower. You have 5 bathrooms for 1 person. The water is a bit sulfured. There is a sauna with a lookout on beppu. There is one indoor onsen, and 5 others outdoors. One cold bath, and one hotter with steam, light and music relaxing.
There is a balance.

The aqua park, there are a lot of people. But the water is really good. The water show is also great especially at night.
There is a salt bath to relax. And also a mud "bath".

Staff were very friendly. Good food quality (both breakfast and dinner) at the buffet. Loved the Tanayu Onsen and Aqua Garden. Room was very clean and spacious. Shuttle bus came right away or very soon that there was almost no wait to move to another building. Thank you!!

Everything about this resort complex was incredible! I don’t think it actually had a real onsen but please let me know if I’m wrong since this is definitely a place my friends would enjoy. We stayed in the original hotel which was a very easy 2 min walk to the main onsen center. I think the other hotels are more recently built and are actually connected to the onsen area. So do your research about the ideal location for you.

Also in the main onsen for women my mother and I spotted some poop. My one suggestion is that the staff keep their eye on the pools and onsen so it’s sanitary.

The room is clean and comfortable, stuff was very kind and polite. The buffet dinner and breakfast are both high standard and tasty.
All good and highly recommended.

This is the best hotel that I have stayed while in Japan. The rooms are amazing with the lofts for the kids and the buffet is amazing. The outdoor hot springs are nice with great views.

The staff was friendly, the hotel was pleasant, and there was a wide selection of food for breakfast and dinner

A great hotel, with two onsens in two different buildings. There are often shuttle buses between the two buildings. Additionally, the buffet was good and the rooms were nice and very traditional.

Overall, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel for 3 nights.
I think this hotel could be a very good option for a family vocation destination.

Incredible hotel! Wicked wave pool and fun for kids. Lazy river was a blast. The family and I all loved the 2-level hotel room. Public Onsen was good for the family, but ABSOLUTELY NO TATTOOS.
*wear a rash guard/ swim top to cover tattoos in the wave pool*

Had a great time. I like the hotel as there is so much to do, swimming, bowling, games arcade, a large variety of indoor and outdoor hot springs. The breakfast and dinner buffets are great - always eat too much lol 😂 There is a huge fish tank in the middle of the restaurant which is very impressive!

One of the best hotel with various activities facilities like gym/hot spring/bouling /swimming pool ( Aqua Garden )/Spa etc.
We choosed the Aqua Garden option which includes Hot Spring. As it was an unplanned activity we had to pre call about the availability of swim suits and towels . Yes, they provide the materials you need to get into the pool. Swim cap is not a mandatory. As the pool is on the roof, the pool water is warm.
Free arm tubes for kids. Taking pictures and videos are allowed. They have water fountain dance after 7:00 pm and in every one hour intervals for 4-5 times. It 4 Was cool , my kids loved it. Neo lights with music was one of the best moment .
Taking pictures and vids are prohibited inside the Hot Spring .
It's typical Japanese style of hot spring. As it is located on the roof , city view is splendid calming down your body half into the hot spring.
As we were there in the evening time we could enjoy the Lights illumination outside the hotel. Fairy tales and angels illumination .
Parking is free but it's located lil upward . Don't worry they have shuttle free bus facility. Get off in front of the Suginoi Palace to get into the activities sector.
