Definitely worth the hype. Apart from the croquettes that are a must-eat when visiting here in Yufuin, this is surely the other must-eat item! A swiss roll like no other! Super yummy - it's soft, taste is just right, not overly sweet, and most importantly, not the least bit too rich at all! It tends to finish early so be sure to be fairly early to catch it in the first half of the day.

If driving and coming by for takeaways, parking is across the street down a narrow, almost hidden lane. But signs are there ro direct.

Amazing egg roll. Must-try in my opinion. The cream was creamy yet light, while the cake was fluffy, soft, and eggy. Balance between cake and cream was also perfect. We got the original flavour. Ordering strategy is to get there early and then order first. Then pickup from the store when you are done exploring the area. We got to the store at around 1130am. You might be able to call and reserve a day before, but not sure. Will sell out if you go to the store too late. Would come and buy again for sure.

the BIG hype of the B-speak soft and fluffy P-roll, let's try ! YES, the rich taste (chocolate roll), the softness, and the fresh cream are all excellent quality (arguably, the best). the ice pack is handy and allows us to roam around with the roll for few hours before we return to the resort. we ate the first half on the same day, which was very good; then we finished the second half the next day, which was still good+ ! wish they have more outlets and we could get the roll as easy !

Lovely swiss roll. Lucky that it's still available. Although expensive, it's worth it as the sponge is so soft, the cream is smooth & silky!

So nice !! Bought the single slice version on train yufuin no mori ( so pleasantly surprised that its offered on the train!) -. Strong egg taste, fluffy and not too light. the cake is perfectly matched with fresh cream. best Swiss roll i had ever had.

This is the most famous “roll cake” in Yufuin- according to my cousin- so we had to buy some to try it. We went around 10:30AM. The shop is small but there was no line to purchase the cake. They will ask you if you want to buy a cooler bag but I don’t think it’s necessary since the packages roll cake comes with a small ice bag.

The roll cake is fantastic and the whip tastes very milky. Note: it says it expires that day but we kept it in the fridge for a night and it was fine.

One of the best rolls I had in Japan. They get swept very fast so it's recommended to show up as early as possible. One roll is good to share it with 4 people. All the flavors are good. Highly recommended.

Yummy, they do offer cutting into slices and storage for late pickup, remember to get ice pack too

Amazing Japanese dessert roll in Yufuin. Walking distance from Yufuin train station. The cream and cake is so good and would sold out instantly in the morning

Good to come to the origin of the good taste when the shop is not busy (Another way you can buy the roll on the train)

I'm not a fan of sweets. But I like the cake roll a lot! It's very popular among the Asian tourists. you can judge by the crowds taking pictures in front of it. You may have to get a whole roll instead of some slides--always sold out quickly. But it's worthy.

I visited B-speak in June of 2008, and came accross the pictures and notes I took then while backing up some of my old blog posts. I still vividly remember how good the role cakes were 5 years later. I figured I'd leave an English review in case any English speaking tourists were in the area. The cakes are a little pricey, but definitely worth it. I don't recall exactly which cakes I had, but I tried a few varieties, and they were all amazingly good. Go to B-speak, you'll love it.
