Masutomi Ryokan

It was one of the best parts of our honeymoon. The room was much bigger than we expected and the biggest of all hotel rooms we had in Japan. We were happy with the western beds and have had a really good nightrest. There were multiple baths which were very clean. Next to that you can reserve a private rooftop bath. It was nice to read something about the source of the water in English. The hosts are very kind and supportive, no matter if you can speak a little bit of Japanese or English or nothing at all. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast was delicious! Definitely recommend!

Undeniably amazing!! Floor and bed futon arrangements, nice tatami mats, scheduled public onsen baths and bookable private onsen semi outdoor available. Food included was amaaaaazing I'm so full just reminiscing. Service was awesome with a middle aged lady being there most memorable - I didn't get her name.
Finishing off a great experience with inclusive yukata robes, tabi socks and vests to suit the season (spring) to wear around the venue. Bathhouse kitted with various toiletries to share and packaged for single use.

Tv was on Japanese channel, which I didn't mind, as I felt so immersed and relaxed in the venue in was happy to just be having their complimentary matcha tea and having conversations.

Very pleasant stay. Landlady is friendly and helpfull, food is amazing, onsen works perfectly. We took one day stay with friends, rooms were spacious and clean. Whole building gives japanese vibe. Perfect place.

Thanks to this hotel we were a able to enjoy our time in Hakone even with the heavy rain... The staff is really helpful and the place makes you feel like you are japanese. There are 3 onsens, I recommend renting the private one at night to enjoy at night.

On top of that we had wonderful dinner and breakfast.

First off, lovely people working here. Very friendly and accommodating and I can only apologise we weren't able to chat more!

A bit of a hike from the station with heavy baggage but not too bad. Near both a Lawson and a 7-eleven, so no shortage of necessities.

Booked the room with private hot spring pool. I highly recommend that. Wonderful to take a dip whenever you feel. (the tub can fit two fatties such as the missus and I, so I recommend it!)

Full breakfast was lovely. Beds were a little firm, but extra bedding made it serviceable. TV was great and air conditioning was efficient. I'll gladly return some day it possible.

Stayed there over a night to enjoy the full ryokan experience. We really enjoyed the food, the room and the staff (they were awesome!). Sad we didn't book there more time!

The best Ryokan I have stayed in Hakone.
The meals (breakfast and dinner), baths, rooms, location, and price were great.

The best part about the experience was definitely the lovely 女将さん(Inn host). She made the experience 5 stars 😊

Spent a night here during winter in Hakone on a solo trip and had a beautiful time. The old innkeeper lady didn't speak any English but she was extremely nice and friendly and made my time here very enjoyable. I was able to get by with very basic Japanese (and they had a good instruction sheet in English, so you'll be fine), or use Google Translate with the free WiFi.

Perhaps because of this, I only saw Japanese tourists! Very atmospheric and nice Ryokan tucked away by a bridge just about 5 mins walk on a small uphill from Hakone Yumoto train station. I also had the in-house Kaiseki 4500Y dinner (2000Y also possible) and breakfast, and they were excellent! Rooms were basic but clean, traditional, and quiet, but at least mine had no attached bath (only bidet toilet).

However, the baths are amazing - that's what you're in Hakone for, right? Four different pools to bathe in, rotating between men and women, so I highly recommend you try to check them all out. According to the official onsen license, water from the spring comes out at 54.1C and is kept at 41.8C. The water is from a natural onsen spring (as opposed to heated tap water), and feels great. if you only go to one, definitely go to the open-air rotenburo (露天風呂) pool on Level 1 (the other 2 are in the basement), especially the octagon pool. It was nice in the winter air.

Overall, slightly cheaper Ryokan than most around Hakone, and perhaps not the most scenic, but definitely very atmospheric and has nice onsens. Would definitely recommend!

Everything was excellent. The room was nice and comfortable. The baths were relaxing. The food was amazing. The staff, especially the lady owner, were all friendly and hospitable. Worth the price. I'd love to come back.

The staff are attentive and welcoming from the moment you walk in, the accommodation is traditional but with all the modern amenities you could ask for. The onsen in this Ryokan is amazing, hot and steamy, and just what one needs after a day of exploring!

Service was spectacular

사장님이 친절하심. 온천 물이 좋은게 느껴짐. 가이세키도 준수함. 못먹는거 방문하기 며칠전에 알려주면 빼주고 다른걸로 대체해주심.옥상에 노천 가족탕, 1층과 지하에 남녀탕이 있었음. 단점은 방이 좁고 엘베가 없다는데 계단이 가파르다는것

Estive hospedada neste ryokan e só tenho a agradecer a todo o staff que aqui trabalha. Foram impecáveis comigo, o meu marido e os meus amigos. Todos sem exceção foram muito simpáticos e educados.
As refeições foram servidas de forma delicada e muito saborosa.
Recomendo a estadia neste ryokan.

2022年1月中旬の週末に宿泊しました。
こじんまりとした歴史ある旅館ですが部屋が綺麗で嬉しかったです。また、温泉は源泉掛け流しで加水も行っていない天然温泉との事です。地下の内湯は時間帯で男女入れ替わります。１階には半露天風呂が一つあり、チェックインから夜までが女性用、翌朝からチェックアウトまでが男性用となっていました。また、階上には有料貸し切り露天風呂があるとの事でした。
泉質が良いのか肌がスベスベになりました。
なお、2022年2月末迄改修工事の為平日は休業との事でしたが、休日早めのチェックインでしたが滞在中は全く工事を行っていなかったようで、チェックアウトの10時過ぎ、関係者と思われるワンボックスカーが2台来ていました。

仕事帰りに温泉に行こう思いつき、駅に近くて手頃な値段、口コミの評価が割りと高い宿というザクッとした検索でこちらに決めました。
こちらのウリは、医師のお薦めする、独自の温泉ということでしたが、箱根の温泉は、箱根の温泉だろうと思っていました。
ところが、建物の見た目や口コミの前評判では想像もつかないくらいの上質の温泉でした。過去に何度か箱根の温泉に浸かりましたが、とても同じ温泉地とは思えないほど体内に成分が吸収される感が強く、無色透明なのに体全体が何かに包まれると錯覚するくらい温泉効果を感じました。
建物が古いと言われていましたが、大正14年創業の歴史を感じさせる佇まいは、何度か改修工事をしたとしても深い情緒を感じ、まさに温泉旅館に来たということを実感させます。部屋はバスなしでしたが、24時間温泉入浴可能ですので、全く不自由は感じませんでした。むしろ、温泉に入れたら、沸かし風呂は無意味のように思えるほど素晴らしい温泉でした。時間によって男女の入浴が区別される八角風呂をお薦めします。
食事場所も古民家を改築した居酒屋風で、ほぼ個室で、ゆっくり食事ができました。
アットホーム感は高く、女将さんを始め、従業員の方々がみな明るく親切で、よく気遣いをしてくれたので、とても居心地が良かったです。
ただ、こぢんまりとした旅館ですので、急な階段を使用する頻度は高いです。
それでもまた行きたいと思う温泉旅館です。
