Hyatt Regency Kyoto

Overall a great experience. Deducted some points due to room service only being available for limited hours vs 24 hours.

We had an amazing room with a humongous wooden bathtub. And it filled ao fast, too! The bath salt they have had a pleasant smell and enhances the experience. The room had a separate living area and bedroom and a full and a half bathroom. Very nice eye for detail in the decoration. Large windows and a balcony.

This was a wonderful establishments. The rooms were good but the level of service was exceptional- from the front desk to the restaurants. A special thank you to Denis and and Indra, who coordinated and delivered a lost piece of luggage to me at Kyoto station, allowing me to make my train and alleviating a ton of anxiety. Will certainly stay here again next time I’m in Kyoto.

The hotel has unparalleled levels of service, with friendly and personable staff that do an excellent job managing luggage, cleaning rooms and arranging resources like an e-bike rental. While the hotel is quite pricey, you can book the rooms at reasonable rates using rewards points.

It was the only hotel to offer gym facilities that I've experienced in Japan. I was also impressed with the plumbing -- the water temperature is very responsive and you can fill the bathtub much faster than I had expected.

This is a great hotel with exceptional staff and beautiful interior.
Close to the national museum and couple of temples ( walking distance )
Food is great ( breakfast buffet and Japanese restaurant )
Highly recommended for those who wish to visit Kyoto
It’s only 10 mins ride (taxi ride) from Kyoto JR station. That’s almost 20-25 mins walk to and from the station. There are few bus stops near by in case of other public’s transportation

Great hotel. King Deluxe Balcony Rooms have a great layout and view. Although an older hotel all areas of the hotel are maintained to an exceptional level.
Staff are great and very helpful. Hotel is slightly out of the main tourist area which makes it a nice retreat. Plenty of transport options and tourist sites are still within easy walking distance.

The room was amazing, with a headboard made from reused Kimono fabric and a great view of the traditional garden.
The staff were all very helpful and kind. They could all speak English very well.
On-site laundry is a little bit expensive, but is a very welcome feature if you are going for longer holidays.

We stayed here for a total of 5 days. As Hyatt Globalists we did not get an upgraded room, but over the course of our stay the hotel was very full due to conferences etc.. Our room was cozy and while the hotel itself looks somewhat older, we had a very nice time. While breakfast was enjoyable, I wish there was rice and Miso soup readily available and not just on the pre-fixed menu. We were able to walk everywhere easily.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Regency for 3 nights and 4 days, and our experience was truly exceptional. This hotel seamlessly blends modern amenities with classic Kyoto elements, creating a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere.

From the moment we checked in until the time we checked out, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and attended to our every need. The level of Japanese politeness displayed by the staff is truly impressive; they greeted us with warm smiles at every interaction.

The breakfast provided at the hotel was excellent, offering a buffet-style spread with a choice between Japanese and Western-style options as the main course. The variety of bread, salads, hot dishes, and more contributed to a high-quality breakfast experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.

A special commendation goes to the Hyatt staff for their outstanding service. When our Uber driver encountered some difficulty finding the hotel, the staff went above and beyond by literally running to locate the driver for us. This level of dedication to ensuring our comfort and convenience is truly top-notch service.

In terms of location, the hotel is conveniently situated a bit outside the shopping district but remains within a short taxi distance to Kiyomizu-dera and downtown Kyoto. Overall, our stay at the Hyatt Regency was delightful, and we look forward to choosing this hotel again when we visit Kyoto in the future. Our sincere appreciation goes out to the entire Hyatt team for making our stay memorable and enjoyable.

Where to begin with this wonderful staff! We were greeted at check in by Aoi Kubo who was warm, welcoming and quickly fixed a mistake I had made when booking our stay originally! I am so grateful for her help and making sure our trip stayed on track! She also made sure to make our stay special with complimentary sparkling wine as we had just got engaged the evening before.

Hotel is beautiful and so close to the scenic Riverwalk. Ubers and taxis are fairly cheap to most popular sites around Kyoto if you’d like to skip the crowded buses. Will be staying here again next time I’m in Kyoto.

The staff at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto are fantastic. Concierge service was excellent thanks to Chihiro and Sakura. We also enjoyed chatting with the Food & Beverage Manager, Gen, who is very knowledgeable about sake. The location was perfect for our needs. It was a quick taxi ride to Kyoto Station and we could walk to Family Mart for snacks.

Wonderful hotel. Very Japanese aesthetic, modern and minimalist. Our room looks out onto a groomed Japanese garden. Hotel feels newer and is very clean. Amazing linens. Very comfortable bed. Wet room with a smaller bath. Very attentive staff and excellent concierge who helped us plan an afternoon of sight-seeing in this delightful city.

I’m glad we chose to stay at this hotel. The service was excellent, and it is a cute and clean hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. There aren’t a lot of restaurants right outside the hotel, but they were a very short drive away and we found the location to be convenient.

This is now one of my favorite hotels and a very memorable experience. The service and professionalism are top notch. Breakfast is the main highlight and so amazing with buffet style (delicious salad) and Japanese set menu (so good!). Rooms are modern, minimalistic and clean. Very comfortable and firm beds with ample space for large suitcases. Location is decent; it requires you to take a quick 10-15 min bus/taxi into the main parts of Kyoto but it's away from the hustle and bustle so we enjoyed that. And lastly but very importantly, the concierge service is world class! Shout out to the hard working concierge in helping us book restaurant reservations and outings. Overall, we loved our experience here and would definitely come back when we visit again. Such a memorable and world class experience here. Thank you to the entire team at Hyatt Regency Kyoto!

What a luxurious and elegant retreat! Your accommodation exudes luxury in every aspect. We couldn't have asked for a better stay from the cozy rooms to the gourmet dining. In particular, the English-speaking concierge's were excellent and truly helpful for our stays. We can't wait to return.

Many things made my stay pleasant with Hyatt Regency Kyoto. 10-minute distance from the Kyoto station by Taxi, and a bus stops right in front of the hotel. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and I got full benefits as a Globalist status. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. The only con for me was its limited on-site restaurant options, as it does not have nearby restaurants.

Outstanding service from check in to check out. This place saved our Kyoto trip after an unfortunate experience in our original Airbnb. I cannot thank Toru-san enough for being so helpful and assisting us in finding last minute accommodations here. Cannot fault anything with this hotel. Although it is a bit dated, the rooms are still clean and beautiful.

Another highlight was the Italian restaurant. Surprisingly one of the best Italian food I’ve had, and the service was outstanding.

Do not miss the temple across the street. It might seem unassuming, but Rengeo-in/Sansusangendo was one of the highlights of our trip.

Had a great stay at the Hyatt Regency January 2023. Breakfast was great every morning. Beds were extremely comfortable. Showers very large by Japanese standards. There's plenty within walking distance to visit but also a short taxi ride to even more. Wou8

Loving everything about this hotel.

📍Location: centrally located, next to Kyoto National Museum and a beautiful temple; walking distant to the historical areas and many attractions. I personally walked to visit many places and there is a bus right outside the hotel as well.

👩🏻‍💻 Service: is simply amazing. Most detailed email reply plus follow-ups on my questions about restaurant reservations. Restaurant staffs are super attentive, they remember our preference after just one visit.

🍱 Food: I had the best Japanese breakfast, chose Japanese breakfast everyday for 4 days. Nuff said!!

🏯 Design: designed by Japanese studio Super Potato, the property’s sleek, understated interiors are a modern update on traditional Japanese aesthetics. It’s timeless even after all these years.
