Hakonenomori Okada

Very nice hotel. The rooms are big, a little old fashioned with tiny basic bathrooms but that did not bother us much as were there for just a day and made use of the excellent onsen and massage chair facilities the hotel offered which kept us out most of the time. It had all the required basic amenities. Very refreshed after a tiring day as the onsen was open till late.Would highly recommend this place.

If you know avaerage japan hotels' price. this is amazing price and good quality.
if you are looking for open air bath. this hotel is the best.
I went there when people were very less.
they give you Ukata. also hotel facilities are huge.
they have old building, and new building. but you can use both facilities. they have big bath, spa, foot spa, open bath in the mountain. also great massage machine which is better than 'Bodyfriends' brand. they also have comic book room, old fashion game room. swiming pool(maybe open in summer)
and welcome cookie was great too. they also have restaurants and cafe provides free drinks. I loved this place. you can just spend at least one day in this hotel. and buildings are kinda old.
but the mood is great. if you come with girl or boy friend or famaily. you will definitely can enjoy together I am sure.

Hotel is at highest point of mountain, looking at walking distance of 1.5mile from train station to hotel, I thought it was nothing to it, turn out it's all up hill walking, you better have a great physical condition to drag a 25lb luggage up to the hotel.

As everyone else says, the location is a bit difficult to get to. Unless you are traveling lightly or are in good shape, I would take a taxi. I stayed alone in a room with twin beds. There was also an area for tatami so realistically 3 people could stay in 1 room. The rooms were also quite spacious compared to others I’ve been in. The bedding was soft, and the pillows were nice. I booked the hotel last minute, but the hosts were gracious enough to let me check-in. The rooms were very nice. It’s not like a modern hotel, but I find no problem with that in Hakone. I think anyone complaining about the rooms being dated needs to understand what town they are in. In my room there was a tv, air conditioning remote, and Yukata. Along with the Yukata was an onsen bag with towels for use. The onsen was amazing. The variety of the pool were really nice. I also saw, but didn’t use, massage chairs, a manga library, and a room to stretch and relax in. I’ve been in about 4 or 5 hotels in Japan, and I enjoyed my stay at this one the most.

Value for money. Great dinner in japanese style, it is not luxurious but it is good enough for the money you pay. I like the breakfast, it is various and tasty. It is kind of mixture of traditional japanese with western style in a buffet manner. Great view in the restaurant. It is good for ppl to take a break from their busy life. I like the onsen very much. It is kind of different from other onsen in other places. It has many pools in open area i.e. hot onsen and cold onsen... i think the hotel tries best to provide the best services. Reasonable price for the goos quality of services. It also provides souvenir food on the desk to welcome every guest. I like this hotel.

What a wonderful stay in hakone, the hotel is about 900 yen from the stations ( less than £10). We were dropped of at Hotel Okada and had to wall the rest of the way up( don't make the same mistake). Alom the young man at reception was so lovely and helpful. Rooms were lovely and clean, had best nights sleep .

It was amazing! Yes the hotel itself looks a little dated and old but it adds to the classic feel and look of the place. The rooms are very clean and spacious - we had the 2 single beds and tatami area family room and fitted 4 people comfortably. The highlight of the stay is the onsens and that there are 5 to choose from as well as a Family Private Onsen (extra charge at ¥1,100/45mins). The mountain views are serenely peaceful to gaze at and the whole experience will leave you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. If not for that, the hot springs alone are a must try! Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back when we visit Japan again. Thank you to the staff at Hakone No Mori Okada who were very helpful.

Beautiful building and room with stunning view of the mountains especially at sunrise! Convenient shuttle service from Hakone Yamoto station to hotel (orange van line A) and 5-10min walk from hotel to K line which takes you to the beginning of the Hakone tourist path. Huge lovely dinner and tasty variety of breakfast foods. Hot springs were beautiful at night and in the morning.

Had a wonderful experience with the unique experience on offer, authentic japanese food & the Onsens. This is the place to stay if you are visiting Hakone.

The outdoor onsen was mesmorizing and very luxurious. The hotel itself is located on a hill, and the view was awesome. Slightly on the pricier side, but the service was impeccable. There is a shuttle bus with a 100 yen fee that'll bring guests to and fro from Hakone-Yumoto station.

Very soft & comfy beds, twin definately was big enough for me and I'm a pretty big girl. The sauna was very nice remember you are going to be butt naked with other women...but its ok, used two robes front and back but I made it...lol, would definately come here again...also it's a hike up the hill so take the A bus and then go through the other hotel in front to get there

For the price (cheaper than other ryokan) it was very good. Restaurant breakfast and onsen were great. Room had great view and was clean. Out of the way from yumuto station being the drawback. Shuttle bus $1 or taxi $8 or walk

The onsens were so beautiful and comfortable !
The staff was so kind and drove us by car between the two buildings when we needed it !
They gave us all the informations we needed and they remembered that we were going to see Fuji san and asked us if we were able to see it when we came back, very thoughtful :)

compared with price I will give more than 80 score. hot spring ok good.food ok good. room size ok good . decorations acceptable. service ok for family。 if stay more day in hot spring I will say is one of very good choice

Nice Japanese style room, the location is a bit high up mountain, only for people with car, far location from the station, but the Onsen is good and sunrise could been seen from the hotel room.

Really nice atmosphere, kind and helpful staff. They have a beautiful onsen. The food was delicious too. We spend a relaxing day here. Thanks for everything !
