La Scaletta

We had a great experience at La Scaletta in the Trastevere neighborhood of Rome. We were staying nearby and walked until we came upon this restaurant. It was on the early side for dinner so we had no problem getting a table inside. Christian was a very nice server and spoke perfect English. We had the cacio e pepe pasta which was served in a parmesean crispy cheese “bowl”, house red, plenty of bread, pasta with red sauce for the kiddo, and pizza and loved it all! Prices were reasonable. Good little place to stop!

The pasta alla Cacio e pepe is worth the detour. Certainly the best I have eaten in my entire life. the service of Carolina who was very cheerful made this experience even more beautiful, Excellent value for money, thank you for this moment!

Stumbled across this cute Italian restaurant. Pizza was amazing also the pasta as usual in Italy. Nice place to sit outside and see people strolling through Trastevere. Good service.

We stumbled across this restaurant! Completely underrated! Our food was delicious, the pizza has to be the best I've ever had! Lovely, friendly staff! Our daughter is Autisic and she felt very relaxed and they happily gave her just plain pasta!

Had lunch at La Scaletta and was very happy.

My wife and I started off with a Diavola which was very tasty. Mains I had Roman Carbonara, after all Rome invented the dish. The Carbonara with Guanciale was delicious! My wife had the simple pasta of olive oil and garlic, which was also very nice. We finished with Tiramisù, once again it was so nice.

The service was very good, and would visit this place again!

Came here last night, after a long search in Trastevere. Everything was super crowded and finally we found this restaurant, it had a short queue and we decided to give it a try.
And it was a great choice 🙂
Indoor space is really cozy with a warm Italian feeling!! The staff is very polite and friendly, with a big smile, especially our waitress Veronica!!
We ordered different starters to try, and of course pasta!!!!
Everything was great, really well cooked and tasty!!!
I recommend this place for sure 🙂🙂

Delicious food! Me and my dad had the classic and white lasagna. The best I’ve had! Our server Aurora was very sweet and professional. The restaurant is nice and intimate, candle lit with a roman touch. Will definitely be back this this hidden gem.

Came here twice on different days with several friends. All 8 dishes were very tasty, having prices around the city average, perhaps even below the touristy areas. The atmosphere differs depending on what time you come here, first time it was a bit crowded but the second time we were the only people in the restaurant. Our waiter was fluent in English and very polite and friendly to us. This restaurant is a hidden gem!

We’ve been served by Aurora : nice place, very nice plates, nice drinks. We’ve been able to get a ta le very fast with the help of Aurora :) Would recommend

Although the restaurant itself looks nothing special, the food was nice and fresh. The service from Rohi was also friendly and efficient. It is a good place to avoid the usual tourist traps in places like this.

We ordered a pizza and a lasagna and honestly it was very delicious. Mama mia!!

So happy to share my positive review about my dinner experience . I have to say I was impressed with the exceptional quality of food and service. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the attentive and professional staff especially Carolina which really set the tone for an enjoyable evening.

Aurora was a great server, friendly and helpful and tolerant of our very poor Italian! The food was good but we didn't have much, but it was a great meal for our fitst in Rome. Recommended

I ate there twice in December, coming the first time by chance. It was very good, well cooked and with fresh, quality ingredients, for a fair price. The waiter (Rohi) is friendly and speaks English well. I recommend !

Fantastic food and very welcoming service at this unassuming and underrated restaurant. Penne Amatriciana was light and delicious, a perfect lunch; and my wife's prosciuttio e funghi pizza was delicious and generous enough that she left nearly half of it, so I finished that up too! Only restaurant we dined at where I wanted to leave a tip over and above the coperta charge.

That’s really a wonderful place with a good vibe and especially delicious food ! But the night the view and the setting was incredible comfortable! I recommend this restaurant and I look forward to going back there next time. There was also that one waiter, named Rohi … he was really sweet, welcoming and helpful. I liked the service he gave !

Absolutely marvelous.
I'm still eating while reviewing. Walked on as a last resort. Glad I did.
Carbonara as it should be. Better than I can make. Prices are reasonable for this part of town.
Saltimbocca and trippa to follow. Also very good. Having a food coma.
Highly recommend even if the hostess gets hot under the collar but that adds to the true flavour.

excellent restaurant, perfect pasta, kind staff, we were served by Carolina, an excellent girl and the atmosphere in the restaurant is quiet and pleasant, we will definitely visit it again when we visit Rome again.
