Wonderful location and truly exceptional wines. The tasting is great, with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very interesting to learn about the grapes and the way the different wines are made. The staff also has recommendations for guests where to have dinner or what else to visit. Overall great experience. A special plus is the language skills of the staff speaking German, English, Italian. Thank you.

Stopped for wine tasting and light lunch. Breathe taking views, great wine, and friendly service. We shared a bottle of wine and had a few appetizers. Perfect location to tame in the rolling hills and beauty. Great location for sunset. Lots of parking and clean restrooms.

What an absolute gem! We came for a cellar visit and wine tasting, and were treated for a very erudite tour and a tasting of four excellent wines, including an unusual Sangiovese Bianco. Very highly recommended!

We did a tour and tasting and had a fantastic time. Jackie was a great guide and told us everything about the process and the history of the winery. She was a great story teller and was great at describing the wines we had tasted. Definitely worth the trip to check out if you are in the area!

What a lovely place to visit. We did the tour and light lunch, and Jackie was an incredible guide and story teller!

It's clear that everyone at Poggio al Sole chooses to be there and the tour was shaped by the most recent work being done on the farm. I'd bet that if we went at another time, we'd have a different experience based on the time of season. This is not plug and play. It's sincere passion shared with visitors. And the wine was the best we had on our trip.

You'll leave with a happy heart and tummy!!

This review relates to our tasting experience. A beautiful winery. We had a great tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. We were able to taste 4 of their wines. The pours were a little on the small size.

This is a beautiful, well run and maintained place! The Davaz family does a great job.

We visited Poggio al Sole spontaneously as a group, and asked to have a wine tasting and to see the cellar. The owners son took the time to show us around. The wine cellar is impressive, and the wines tasted very good, especially the Chianti Classico and Rosé. We enjoyed tasting outside on the terrace with a beautiful view of the vineyards.
They also produce very good aceto balsamico and olive oil.
We are really grateful for the nice hosting by the owner and can only recommend this place. Ideally, however, the tasting should be announced in advance, since the wine harvest is currently pending and it can therefore be hectic for the winemakers to offer tastings at the same time. They also offer nice accommodation and run a restaurant nearby.

Found this winery while driving through the country on a beautiful Saturday afternoon on my way to Panzano from Firenze. What a great experience it was! The scenery was like something out of a movie and the food and wine were only exceeded by the knowledge and kindness of the staff (Nick was especially great). Hope to come back an stay someday...

Beautiful place with a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Jackie was an excellent tour guide that is genuinely passionate about the wine making process and explained everything so well. We never felt pressured to buy anything but ended up getting a few bottles because we enjoyed the wine so much.

This place was perfect for us. They were prompt, responsive, and let us make a last minute reservation. The tour guide Carmen was the star (besides the wine of course). We opted for the light lunch and tour and she guided us through the organic offerings and wine pairings. The wines were also delicious, we ended up ordering a case to be shipped home. The view was incomparable. The owner was there as well, working at his vineyard. It is apparent these professionals enjoy their work.

We booked a tour and tasting last minute and were so happy we did.
Best winery experience I’ve ever had. Tour was informative and well delivered.
Wine tasting was done in the most beautiful setting on a round marble tables with chairs made from barrels.
Amazing wines and very reasonably priced. Tasted balsamic and olive also. Our tour guide was excellent

Lovely winery with amazing views. The tour was great and the wine was even better. Don’t waste your time going to the corporate wineries because it doesn’t have the same feel.

This winery is incredible.
Beautiful landscape. And beautiful wine.
Our guide Carmen was spectacular. We would come back to this place just for her.
She was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about her work and the wine they make.
Loved this place!!

This winery is well worth your time. We opted for the tour and light lunch. Our guide Carmen was incredible. She was so warm, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful (she insisted on taking couple phots of us which was so lovely). We were fascinated by how well the owner incorporated traditional methods and new technology. And the wines were fantastic!!! We went in late October and Carmen kept apologising they had just finished all their whites so we could only taste the reds. Not a problem because those are our favourite wines! We left with 2 bottles and so so happy we spent the afternoon here.

After a bit of a challenging ride we reached a beautiful hilltop vineyard, a truly breathtaking place. We arrived right towards closing but nonetheless a nice lady gave us a short tour of the place and then we sat down and tasted four types of wines with a few crackers on the side… .Just fun and the wine was really delicious.
Recommend!
