Modafferi Barber Shop: Dal 1970 barbieri a Roma

One of the best barber shops that I visited all over the world.

Manuel and his brother are running their father’s shop which was established in 1970.
I had a haircut and the facial, I couldn’t recommend this saloon more.

They only use locally sourced products and apply what fits you more based of the type of the skin/hair that you have.
All their products are made in collaboration with a local pharmacy.

100% one of the best things I’ve done for myself. Ivan and his brother run a phenomenal shop. Ivan is a master. He gave me an amazing haircut. It was also one of the best straight razor shaves I have ever had. And then I also got a face treatment that made my face feel like I had never washed it before. It was a great experience. I will put it on my must do list when I return to Rome. This place was recommended by my hotel and I’m so grateful they did.

Let me start by saying this was a 5 star experience. Manuel was very skilled and great to talk with. You can tell he has been doing this for a long time, and is fine-tuned with his craft.

That being said, I felt the price was high for what you get.
- €20 for the hair cut
- € 30 for a beard trim
- €70 for the facial

+ The hair cut was well done, and Manuel took care of how my hair works.
+ The beard trim was fine. He did it all by hand with his scissors, but I felt it could have been done just as easily with a trimmer (and was not worth €30)
+ The facial was the full package. I had never had one before, so I wanted to try. It took about 25 minutes. Multiple steps with a face massage and pore cleaning. I can't speak to the quality some I've never had one, but at least for me it was not worth €70
Just make sure to ask about the pricing before you start.

Overall, the place is great and the staff were all amazing. I will be back here the next time I am in Rome. Just sticking to the haircut though :)

Best haircut I have ever received. From the moment I walked in the door I was treated like an esteemed guest and coffee was provided while I waited. The Modafferi brothers bring elegant tradition into their work evident from their dedication to the craft. Ivano cut my hair and beard so well that I doubt I will ever find a better barber. I particularly liked the fact that he gave styling tips and had a vision for my hair from the start. True barbers like these are difficult to find these days. The price is well worth what you receive and I cannot recommend them enough to anyone. I made a great impression at the event this evening. They speak English as well although we spoke in Italian for the entire cut. 5 stars well deserved.

Amazing barbershop and not a normal one. you pay for a one of kind experience with lots of laughs and professionalism. The crew was very friendly and the way they work was very professional (you also get free drinks with is a great bonus) you can feel the personal treatment a customer receives. They exist for 52 years and by my experience they’re gonna stay for much longer. Thank you Ivano!

I just had a haircut, shave, and facial here today and the experience and results were fantastic! I went in for just a buzz cut but ended up with having my head shaved (Hey, I'm in Rome. Why not splurge?) And then he suggested a facial, which I've never had done before. I am very, very pleased with the results. Next time I'm in Rome, I'm going for a repeat.

I was on vacation and needed a haircut. The concierge at our hotel made me an appointment and I’m thrilled to have met the brothers. I got a fantastic cut and very highly recommend.

Visiting from US and needed a beard trim. Read reviews of Modafferi and decided to try it. Truly the best barber experience I’ve ever had! Ivano did an outstanding job trimming my beard by hand. Was so happy, decided to add facial and haircut. He is very skilled and personable. The best from start to finish! Will definitely return the next time we’re in Italy! Eccellente!

Top notch service just off Piazza Barberini. Ivano is a first rate barber and gives an amazing facial and massage. Directed here by my cousin and I was not disappointed. Every guy should have this kind of therapy from experts like him. If you didn't have sprezzatura before, you'll have it after seeing Ivano!!! 5 Stelle!

Just got a great cut as a walk-in appointment. I had to wait about 15 minutes. While I waited I was offered an espresso, drinks and just ease. The cut was great very happy. You will likely get offered a facial - hot towels , open pores and clear out black heads. Just say yes and do it. It’s great!

This was the first time I went to a barber, it was an amazing surprise from my wife. Ivano is amazing. The whole experience was simply, amazing! If I lived in Rome, I would go back every other week. The staff is extremely friendly. I wish we had this place with the staff in the states. Keep up the great work and making your father proud!
