Cozy old school restaurant with family vibe. Food was fresh and delicious, and good price.

- calamari: simple and very very fresh
- carbonara: a bit more salty than other place, but al dante texture and very nice crispy ham.
- vongole: adequate, next time might not order here again.

Amazing place. Everything was perfect, but the prices were high, but affordable. For Grissini with bread for antipasti, 1l sparkling water, Rigatoni alla amatriciana and Cacio e Pepe for main dish and a slice of a cake with jam of some kind, we paid 33€. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the portions were really big. And the waiters were super friendly and extremely helpful. You can connect to their free Wi-Fi. The password for it is written on menus. We didn't have to wait for our food to arrive for any longer than 15 minutes. And it's definitely a historic place, being the oldest restaurant in Rome, opened in 1518. The bathrooms were pretty clean. 9,5/10 because of the prices.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant and would recommend it. It helps to learn a few basic phrases to place the order (I used google Translate on my phone). I felt at home and was treated kindly. Tried pasta amatraciana, house red wine and tiramisu and would recommend all. Thankful for their patience with my poor Italian.

Here you are eating and dining in 500 years old restaurant that served by generations, it’s immersed in heritage, however the food is great and authentic,
It worth visiting for sure

La Campana has been around for a long time and is run like a well-oiled machine. The Parmigiana di Melanzane is outrageously good, as is the tiramisu. 90% of the guests for lunch were Italians, which says a lot.

When in Rome, you want to try something local and traditional. This restaurant is recommended by a local friend. The waiters are all elders and I love it. It’s a family business lasts for approx 500 years!
Food is absolutely delicious, the pity is that I don’t have enough stomach to order more dishes.
There are lots local come here too.
Great service and kind staff.

The oldest restaurant in Rome. 500 years old, hard to imagine older than the United States. Food was delicious and service was great. Meat is their specialty. Our guests had the baby pork which looked amazing. For antipasti order the zucchini flowers and fried cod and of course the Jewish artichokes. Worth a visit.

Our first meal in Rome did not disappoint. We just managed to get the last table as they were almost full so glad to have squeezed in without a reservation.
Our waiter for the night was very charming to us, I would heavily recommend having Google translate handy for the menu as it’s only in Italian and there’s some more adventurous dishes on there…

Our food was amazing. I’m still thinking about the carbonara a week later on.

A truly Roman restaurant that runs for generations spanning into hundreds of years, actually 500 years. Maybe the oldest restaurant establishment in Rome. Among its clients were Caravaggio and Fellini, representing totally different generations. Guaranteed pure quality. You cannot be disappointed of anything you order. It is always my fallback place when l run out of ideas where to go and dine with satisfaction. Never fails me. Carrying a rich heritage, they do not need to be pretentious but live up to their historical fame. Very rich and satisfactory menu. The artichokes are to die for. Their meat menu is great, especially “abacchio” lamb. One of the best raviolis in town. The owner Paulo is always there. He is modest and friendly, attending each table and making sure everyone is a happy camper. Reservation is a must . Weekend nights are tricky and gets very crowded mostly jammed with Italians occupying long tables and challenging the decibel level. It is located in a popular area, a stone throw away from piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina.

This restaurant was recommended by the local shop owners. It is the oldest restaurant in Rome and serves traditional Roman fare. The food was fabulous, simple and delicious. Service was great. This isn't a fancy modern eatery but a fabulous non touristy authentic Roman restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Bravo 👏 and ciao grazie

This has to be some of the most delicious pasta in Rome. Such an unassuming place from the outside. Once you’re in, you’ll notice that a lot of tourists go to this restaurant, probably like us they saw the really good reviews on Google.

I recommend the oxtail ragu, I heard it was their signature and it did not disappoint! Very well priced as well.

Beautiful experience here. Had the carbonara, cacio e pepe and the fried artichoke. If you are on the hunt for the Roman artichoke - look no further!

All divine, traditional style, where the locals seem to eat with their families. Friendly staff, happy to educate and share. Very special place.

One of the most ancient restaurants in Rome. The traditional central Italian cuisine is prepared to perfection and served with style. The atmosphere is very friendly and the homely demeanor of the regulars makes it very welcoming and cozy.

Great Roman dining experience with traditional Italian dishes and exceptional service. Would definitely be back. Also enjoyed the restaurant-branded wine which was a really good montepulciano d'abruzzo.
