Beautiful local restaurant serving Roman cuisine. The fried rice balls were delicious, and pasta one of the best I’ve ever tasted! Handmade egg tonnarelli with Italian sausage - it was incredible! Fantastic end with a tasty tiramisu, again one of the most well balanced tiramisus I’ve had the pleasure of trying. Worth the trip out to a lovely outdoor terrace resto filled with locals!

Oh my goodness. Wow, what an amazing restaurant. The food here is really amazing. This is Roman food at its best. Not a tourist trap. We especially loved the 4 famous pastas. It is worth the trip out here for sure.

A very good and roman place where to eat something typical. The classic dishes are great (carbonara, cacio e pepe) and served in a pretty characteristic restaurant, that you can easily reach this thanks to the tram! The only bad thing about it is the price: we paid 57 euros for a starter, a pasta, a dessert and a coffee each (2 people)...with a bottle of wine and water...that's not cheap, but food was great!

Incredible neighborhood trattoria. Our rigatoni a la gricia was some of the best, most perfectly cooked pasta we’ve ever had. We also had a traditional Roman veal dish, eggplant croquettes, and fried zucchini flowers. You need reservations but the staff was kind enough to squeeze us in right before they opened for the evening. And a litre of house wine is €8!

Hidden gem away from those packed with tourists kind of restaurant.
Cozy, lovely and simple atmosphere!
Super attentive and polite staff; and Needless to say, delicious and yummy Italian food. Here’s some pics of our dinner: mozzarella di buffala, melanzane parmigiana, Alice all’olio d’oliva andare baccalà alla romana ( codfish Roman style)
Definitely worth it!

The pasta and oxtail stew were perfection. The restaurant is off the main tourist path and was featured in the book published by Roads & Kingdoms. Love the local neighborhood feel. Especially perfect if you're checking out the Doria Pamphili park in the area.

This restaurant is kind of hidden in the area Casaletto close to the last stop of tram 8.
We started our lunch with some antipasti.
Crocchette di melanzane e di bollito which are eggplant croquettes and boiled meat.
Next up came our spaghetti alle vongole and ravioli alla gricia. Last but not least their mixed dessert called cesarini. Everything was extremely good! Highly recommended! Actually it is one of the best restaurants in Roma! 5 stars is not enough.

Very well prepared, high quality ingredients. We loved the fried flying squid, mussels, fried courgette blossoms, and spaghetti alla vongole.

Amazing cucina romana (classic Roman food). Well worth the tram (#8) or bus (line H) ride!

The antipasti are great, although for me the fried zucchini flowers have a bit too much breading and cheese (I prefer simpler versions). Their pastas are creamy with generous portions. The "focaccia pizza" is more like a crispy pizza with salt and olive oil than a classic focaccia, but it's delicious. The panna cotta was the perfect texture, with real vanilla bean and fresh fruit.

Also great for gluten free eaters: they have 2 styles of gluten free pasta that can be paired with any sauce, and they have gluten free bread. Only a few of the dishes (pizza and fried stuff) can't be made gluten free.

Mostly Italian speakers but with some English and French speakers... it's pretty empty at opening time but gets busy starting around 8:30 PM. The men's room (but not the women's room) is missing a toilet seat. Overall a rustic trattoria atmosphere/vibe but with top notch ingredients and preparation.

Quintessential Italian Trattoria. Fantastic. Delicious.

Trattoria Da Cesare will blow your tastebuds away with their classic, savory plates. Everything we tried honors the Italian gastronomy: good quantities of food full of love and filled with deep, natural flavors. Truly a remarkable experience.

The Antipasti (Polpette, Totani fritti and Bruschetta di Pomodoro) were amazing. Their great flavors prepared us to the most stellar part of the meal: the Pastas (Amatriciana and Cacio e Pepe). I dare to say that any pasta you order here will be deliciously memorable. The Panna Cotta was also delicious. 5 star experience.

Da Cesare is perhaps among my two favorite Roman restaurants. In me, they have found a loyal foodie. I will return to this restaurant many, many times.

Everything was delicious! But most of all, I loved the appetizer we had which is the bruschetta con burrata e alici, and the calamari. We also loved the tiramisu.

Beautiful outdoor space. Service and food were exceptional - away from the center. Delicious typical foods of Rome especially the pastas!

A delightful spot that really shined through. The food was amazing and the portion sizing was spot on for two people. The space is large enough big groups. Highly recommended!!!

Went here for lunch at the recommendation of hotel concierge. It was a nice experience for me as it was unlike many of the more tourist oriented establishments I have previously visited in Rome. Here I felt like I was experiencing a more authentic neighborhood restaurant. Great food. Great service. Great house wine. Very nice people all around. They even called me a taxi (they could tell I was from out of town). Highly recommended. Excellent experience.

I love parmegiana, but this one served with arugula and fresh tomatoes, is something else. Really really good! The sourdough bread, fresh and crispy . Wine ot the house is really tasty, smells like a fresh grape.

Sensational classic Roman cousine with the best carbonara you can get. Simple Italian food cooked to perfection.

They say when in Rome, do as the Romans do. You’d be hard pressed to find a more authentic, humble yet delicious experience than a late lunch, long and luxurious, at the Trattoria da Cesare.

To start, the setting was stripped back but serene. Sitting just out of town off the beaten track and beneath an old grape tree, it afforded ample shade while maintaining an al fresco air. Our food was in a similar theme; simple combinations of the best local produce resulted in the most satisfying meal we had during our stay in Rome.

The wine list was refreshing and extensive, served by friendly staff who were always happy to help. Dish of the day was the pasta a la gricia which had us licking the bowl for more.

Go here.

We called ahead to ask if there was room and they side no. However, we showed up anyway and were seated immediately (group of 4).

The Cacio e Pepe gnocchi app was great and perfect for four people. We had cacio e pepe pasta, oxtail sauce pasta, spaghetti and clams and steak.

Everyone loved their food, and their wine menu is also top notch.

Lots of Americans here, which is usually a turnoff as most prefer to eat where the locals eat. This place still feels like it hasn’t lost its way and has managed to keep true to homestyle cooking.

Don’t gamble like me! Book in advance.

This chef clearly knows his stuff, and makes every dish with unbridled perfection. The wafer thin pizza crust, lightly covered in pomodoro sauce then drizzled with olive oil- molto bene!

Went there in July 2023. Definitely will go back when I visit Italy again.
