Trattoria Da Teo

One of the recommendations of our Italian friend (who grew up in Rome). This is why we were surprised and lucky of getting a table easily for four on a Wednesday in the evening. The food was gorgeous. Our favourite of that night was the pasta carbonara. Also the wine on the photo is recommendable 😊

Definitely worth visiting! The menu is the quintesence of the Italian cuisine - the food, atmosphere are all absoltely stunning. The taste of pasta and tiramisu was so good we set it the benchmark for the rest of the places we visited. My personal number one in Rome for lunch😊

The restaurant that my husband and I wanted to try was full, so we decided to try this place. We shared the mussels and clams which was delicious. My husband had the lamb which came in 2 big pieces and I had the Sea Bream with seafood. It was delicious. The waiters were super friendly and very attentive.

For dessert, we had the wild strawberry mascarpone which was amazing. They also gave us cookies and fresh cherries.

We were looking for a spot in Trastevere area and saw good reviews for Trattoria da Teo. It did not disappoint. It was probably the best meal we had in our 1 week in Italy. We had made reservations for 5 at 7:30, but 2 in our party were unable to make it. We were initially worried that they wouldn't be able to accommodate us due to the last second change, but they worked to get us a smaller table. The restaurant definitely did get more busy as the night went on, so reservations are strongly recommended. The server was very friendly and made wonderful suggestions about what to order. He didn't try to upsell the more expensive dishes or wine. We had 1 liter of the house wine for only 12 euros. We started with a delicious starter of fried cod, fried artichokes and fried zucchini. The pasta dishes were equally good with generous portions. For dessert we had the Mascarpone with wild strawberries and the tiramisu. The tiramisu was the best I ever had. Will definitely go back if I'm in Rome again.

The absolute best. I don’t normally take the time to review place but this one’s definitely worth it. Best seafood pasta I ever tasted (and I’ve been to 33 countries as at now). Ask for Mark when you’re there. The seafood pasta is amazing and the service is even better. Went twice and will keep going anytime I visit Rome!

I have eaten a lot of Canadian PEI mussels, but my mussels and clams spaghetti was the best ever. Just out of this world. And the atmosphere, well, it's Rome, eh?

Our place to go when we have friends from abroad visiting. The quality of the food has always been good over the past 10 years that we know the place. Most waiters are nice and welcoming and when Theo finishes cooking he always comes out to have a chat. It feels familiar and not like the hundreds of places that recently opened that don’t have a soul.

The seafood and vongole spaghetti was fresh and delicious, but the apetizers were the best ones we’d have in a long time🙏

Feied calamari with artichokes and burrata with anchovies and some sort of salad. Bellissima!

They really don't need this review, their reputation is solid gold, apart from some reviews from tourists that don't get it, I had to laugh at some, the Roman character is shall we say, uncompromising and direct - which I love! The food is out of this world, Teo himself often wanders through to check on things. Do book to avoid disappointment.

Best food we ate on our trip, atmosphere was great and restaurant was cozy and felt very authentic. Dishes were traditionally Roman, no-fuss and cooked very well, would especially recommend the caprese salad, pasta gricia, and Roman tripe if feeling adventurous. Tiramisu was also delicious and seemingly made to order.

Staff were lovely and took pity on us for not having booked a reservation, but restaurant was very busy so would definitely recommend booking in advance.

Dario was the waiter that served us, and he was charming, hospitable and very knowledgeable on the foods!

Skip the line of tourist waiting to go to Da Enzo and come to Da Teo to enjoy great food with locals. Careful how much you order, the portions are big:-)

We had a lovely experience here this week! Ask for Dario. He was an EXCELLENT waiter and took so much pride in his craft. Our food was excellent and, even though the place was full, the wonderful woman at the “front of house” made it happen for us. There were clearly many locals and regulars in the restaurant. My spaghetti alla vongole was perfectly done.

Really tasty Italian cooling. Get the artichokes and aperol spritz! They were all very friendly too and spoke English well!

Authentic Roman meal with friendly and quick service. We ordered the fried squid and artichoke, insalata, rigatoni carbonara and cacio e pepe, best meal we've had in Rome during my stay, would recommend.
