The food is great. I loved it. I stayed in rome for 3 days and had dinner and lunch several times. I recommend accepting the servers suggestions, since everything is home made and fresh and tastes delicious. I would definitely come back again if i am ever in Rome again.

Just excellent, we ate days fish and grilled anchovies and the fish fried perfectly, and so tasteful chocolate pistachio cake for dessert. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will certainly come back again.

Very authentic Italian and old school trattoria. We’ve been traveling year after year to Italy for 30 years and to find such a wonderful traditional trattoria in Rome was a wonderful find. With broken Italian and English blend the owners will create a dish for you based on your favorite meals. Zero touristico’s haha which we absolutely love. The prices are reasonable and the meals are prepared fresh and tasty. The vegetables are so nice too. The staff are good Italian family people wanting you to be satisfied. The deserts are awesome as are the main meals or courses. Spaghetti with clams was so plentiful. The tiramisu for me was yummy. .

Fantastic food and wonderful service. Prices and menu are written on the chalkboard outside the door on the left. There is a toilet inside. Had a wonderful lunch here.

Edit: after reading the reviews I have noticed a consistency with complaints in the lack of prices but if you look you'll find what you need. There is a distinct difference in service between the brunette and the blonde waitress but I found that if you try a little with your Italian with the blonde she warms up immediately.

A great restaurant for enjoying well-cooked, typical homemade Roman dishes at a reasonable price in Trastevere.
It kind of feels like eating at a local's home: there's only one type of "table" wine, but really good food.

The best tiramisu I have ever had-and I have had a lot ! We have been to this trattoria 3 times, but are treated like regulars by the lovely staff. The rabbit that I had was in the most amazing sauce, and the side dish of chicory with garlic was tremendous. My partner had polpetti, and it was perfect. Most customers have been local when we have been, but there has always been someone who speaks English if you need it - but why not try some Italian ! Not somewhere to go if you want a sophisticated wine list, but if you want great seasonal food at a fair price with an excellent house wine,a lovely greeting, a great atmosphere and location, this is the place for you.

One of the few authentic Italian restaurants in central Rome. Food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. If you don't know how to order in Italian(practice, it's not that hard), then don't be surprised if the owner tells you what to eat, she is just trying to look after you

Don’t get me wrong. This isn’t 5 star food in the sense of being Michelin -style foodie food. It is 5 star because it is high quality, traditional Roman food, unpretentious but super satisfying. Good people, inexpensive, and not just for tourists.

Fantastic lunch with a great verdure starter. More diversity in dishes than we otherwise found in Rome

The food was absolutely amazing! There’s so much audacity in these reviews it’s ridiculous. You come to Italy and get mad when citizens speak Italian……A country with a completely different set of customs and you expect to be treated the way you would in America? Bye . Anyway the food was delicious, we took the time to translate dishes on our own so it was easier to communicate with the staff. Gertrude is quite the character but she means well. She was the highlight of our experience. Another waitress spoke a little bit of English and recommended some dishes. Which was a bonus and not the expectation. All I’m saying is educate yourselves on a country’s customs and dining etiquette before writing mind numbing reviews. They don’t like to interrupt families while they’re eating, it’s considered rude so they leave you alone. They take their food seriously, It’s about leisure, and relaxing. Have a drink, enjoy your food, and when in Rome.
And people are talking about her making up prices…..they’re listed on the chalkboard and she says what each meal costs

Hard not to love somewhere that so comprehensively resists the tide of fashion. Step back 10, 20 30 years to how things used to be. A gem.

Charming place with good food. If you are looking for not-for-tourists place where locals come to dine then this is one of those.
Yes, you may learn to understand some Italian, but it is definitely worth the effort. :) I absolutely loved the lady who spoke only Italian, and somehow we managed to understand each other.

One of the rare gems of Rome. Didn't know whether to post n share as I'd like to keep this gem to a small faithfull audience. Best grilled anchioves EVER. Gnocchi divini! Punatrelle the best I have ever eaten, delicate but still flavour some.
Highly recommended. Expect to be told what you will eat !!!! Take their advice....

Surprised by the negative ratings! After a month living here, and even taking my Italian family here, it was by far my favourite restaurant. One: very few tourists. Many Italians. The staff is so kind, and really likes to joke around (in Italian of course). The main waiter who always wears a tuxedo/suit takes care of you...you can definitely order, but in true Italian fashion he will being whatever is the most fresh or best item that day. Or he will recommend different dishes to try. The eggplant with fresh ricotta cheese is quite delightful in the warm summer months. Great value, cheap price for a full course meal that tastes like homemade authentic Italian food. I also dined here as a couple, and we were both treated superbly. Perfect for family or a date.

Great homecooked meals. Really enjoyed the wonderful pasta dishes and the mussels. Everything is really traditional and fresh. The menu has English and Italian but the staff mostly speaks Italian. All of the food is wonderful and just a great place to sit and enjoy local cuisine. The price is also easy on the wallet.

Very good homemade pasta carbonara and cacio e pepe in a lovely square in Trastevere. The owners are very jolly people that make you feel welcomed. Well done!
