This exceptional osteria not only delights with its culinary prowess but also offers a cozy ambiance. The eggplant dish was a symphony of flavors, showcasing the chef's skill. The raw beef and lamb were a gastronomic delight, blending textures and savory notes perfectly. What further elevates the experience is the inclusion of homemade wine, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for those seeking a memorable culinary journey with a touch of warmth and authenticity.

Very good service, at home and cute atmosphere, authentic local food with authentic pricing.
Trippa alla Romana was really tasty and it only cost 9 euros. 500ml of wine was 7 euros. Service staff were very friendly and so natural which made us feel so welcomed even tho we're foreigners.
I'd like to go back there whenever I can.

A genuine Trastevere, place. Very warm & welcoming. Service is done with a smile and creativity (see the pic of the polenta dish).
The menu is typically Roman cuisine, dishes are very tasty.
There are outdoors seating as well and during the summer it is a real pleasure to sit in the shade of the tree.

A true Roman osteria. We came 10 minutes before they opened and there was already a cue, but we got a table immediately. The staff is great and very attentive. It really feels like they love their job. Food arrived fast and was delicious. We had two starters, one pasta, one secondi, one dessert, half liter of wine, amaro and coffee and paid 62€. Well worth it!

Nestled in a cozy, wood-beamed trattoria with a generous terrace, OSTERIA Zi’mbreto captures the essence of Roman dining. The dishes here—whether it’s the artichoke, Bucatini amatriciana, or the indulgent carbonara pasta—are exemplary, showcasing the true flavors of traditional Roman cuisine.
Each bite feels like a journey through Italy’s culinary heritage. A must-visit for anyone craving an authentic taste of Rome in a warm and inviting ambiance.
Reservations are essential as it gets crowded straight away.

In a neighborhood where poor pastas catered to undiscerning tourists are a dime-a-dozen, Zi'mberto stands out for its authenticity, and quality of execution. Most famous for its Amatriciana, the Carbonara and Orrechiette with sausage and broccoli are also excellent. Call for a reservation or show up 20 min before they open to ensure a table.

This place is a gem. Delicious food AND wonderful service. This location was recommended to me, and I'll continue to recommend it to others. Delicious pasta and the best meatballs we've ever tried. I'd love to come back to this restaurant.

Absolutely delicious local dishes at a gorgeous cosy Italian restaurant. Best cacio e pepe we have ever tasted and the lamb dish sensational. A MUST visit in Roma! As a tourist, some people might think that service is brusk in comparison to what you are used to but you need to keep in mind that tourists are dining at a restaurant made for locals so be polite patience, and thankful for their service and divine food.

What a lovely night at Zi Umberto! Everything was great! The food was delicious, they treated us like friends! I absolutely recommend it, and would visit again when in Rome! My only tiny complaint was that the fiori di zucca had a bit of a fishy smell (my guess is that they were fried in the same oil as some fish was, maybe it was by accident)! Apart from that, everything was great (and pretty affordable too)!!
If you want to sit out, you’d definitely need a reservation in advance!

The cuisine here is totally delicious. That's why the place is always full, and you might need to wait, and it's totally worth it. We have been doing a road trip in Italy, and experiencing diferent types of plates, and this place is in my top 3. Staff is very friendly, and the whole environment have a great vibe. My daughter repeated her dish bc was unbelievable yummy. Delightful desserts menu. I wish to spend one night every week here 😁😂 here some pics about our plates. Thank you!

Amazing food! During a two-week tour around Italy, we encountered many many amazing meals, but very few elicited true wows out of our group. This place earned many WOWs. Like many have said, the cacio e pepe is a level above. Everyone ejoyed their meals. I found the service a bit rushed for what we had become accustomed to in Italy, but it was an amazing meal nonetheless.

This place is a must if you’re in Rome, like always in Italy at the beginning the staff is not very friendly with tourists but after talking to them they were really cool.

Their Carbonara and the caccio e pepe are a must. Im serious, dont leave without trying this dish. All the ingredients in our food tasted fresh and very flavorful. We had the house wine, antipasto, pastas, secondi and desert. Their prices was very decent for the portions of food.

Also, ordered limoncello after eating. They bring you a whole bottle and didn’t charged us which was really nice of them.

The only think I didn’t like was that the steak and the lamb chop we ordered for secondi lack a little flavor. But everything else was really good.

(UPDATE March 2024. This place is now mobbed with people and they know it and if you don’t have a reservation, forget it. There are places closeby with food just as good. It’s now all tourists.) A typical Roman menu: English speakers, “typical” here means traditional, local food. This is not a tourist trap, but a place frequented by and recommended by locals. The service was kind, warm, and friendly, and the food delicious. Note: this is not America, so don’t come here and leave a bad review becisee yoj didn’t get an American experience. These restaurants have cooks who prepare the days food from scratch. They won’t accommodate you if they cannot feed or seat you comfortably because they are maintaining the integrity of their service, so don’t be offended. Check peak times and don’t go during that time if you’re worried. I will certainly return. Artichokes were incredible as were the fried zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese and a tiny sliver of anchovy (not gross American anchovy)...come here!

We had been recommended by a friend who came here in August. I can't tell about how funny were the staffz it wasn't our experience. I can say they were perfectly correct. We were well served, perfect timing for the plates. Everything where excellent, perfectly cooked and tasty. I'm not an expert in Roman food but I can say our dishes were the best we ate in our Rome stay. Homemade pasta with calamari, tomatoes, olives and capers was my main dish...I really enjoy it. My girlfriend ate Fetuccini with funghi porcini, and we share Fiori de Zucca and Codfish and our coffee machiatto with a tiramisu ...I highly recommend this place.

The best spaghetti I have ever had!
We were so lucky to get a last minute reservation and could not rate our experience anything less than 5*. The staff were incredibly friendly, the starters, mains and desserts were all amazing. It just makes me smile thinking about how much of a lovely experience we had, so thank you!

Our best meal in Rome! The food was spectacular and the staff absolutely amazing! And had the patience and gave me the opportunity to practice my very poor Italian instead of changing straight to English!

Finally something outside the cold cuts and pizzas! It starts with a great service; the real one where the waiters becomes your partners; then the menu options are great; setting is super cozy! I took the rabbit; it was cut so small; but still taste great. After your lunch and pitcher, you will get free amaretto and limoncello shots, if not bottles on your table! Sublime

My absolute favourite place in Rome. If you’re looking for a delicious amatriciana or involtini alla nonna, look no further. Friendly, fun and warm service with great house wine served by the carafe. The traditional menu serves great renditions of all the classic Roman dishes. The meat is hearty and salty and the pasta has perfect bite - how it should be. Best to make a reservation for dinner Thursday-Sunday and sit amongst a buzzy crowd, but also visit for a long lazy lunch with a book.
