5 stars is not enough for the service. The food was fantastic (see pictures). Great location, quiet corner, great atmosphere if looking for a quiet enjoyable meal. The service was excellent. The waiters, manager and owners were very welcoming, checked in on us several times, and spoke very good English for some Americans who speak very bad Italian (We tried! :) ). One of the best parts of the dinner was the music. The owner has great taste!

Our wait staff was very friendly and kind. I asked about some culture and customs issues and the staff was also very informative. Definitely would have to visit again.

Amazing food and good recommendations!

Perfect place to have a more relaxing and quiet dinner in the neighborhood. The waiters were really nice and friendly, the location is perfect in our opinion. We tried the saltinboca and the cacio e peppe - both really tasty! The menu is not extremely long, but it was quite alright variety. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Btw, the bread was amazing for what I have tried in Rome and surroundings!

The staff was very kind and welcoming, the ambiance is cozy and charming, and the food was delicious, from the hearty bread to the cacio e pepe pasta to the tiramisu. What a shame that this was the first place we ate in Rome, since everything else fell short after this experience.

Came across this place by accident as the restaurant that was recommended to us was mysteriously closed and we're very glad that it was because this Hostaria was a lovely find. The food was terrific and authentically Roman but the standout feature was the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff. All of whom spoke excellent English but nonethless were happy to encourage my attempts at Italian. Also has the advantage of being slightly out of the heavily touristed areas of Trastevere so it was quite peaceful. Highly recommended.

If you want an authentic Roman experience, eat here, ask about their story, and you will not be disappointed. It is less than 100 meters from the main strip of tourist traps in Trastevere, but it couldn’t be further from it. Previously owned by a nonna and run by her family (old name was da Olindo), this place was a neighborhood staple, mainly for locals. The restaurant was purchased by a young man from Trastevere, and he changed the name, ambiance, and online presence (there wasn’t one before), but managed to maintain and even improve the authentic, simple, and delicious food.

The restaurant is quiet and unassuming, but so welcoming. Get any of the Roman pastas (we had the amatriciana and the gricia) and a secondi (the veal saltimbocca was incredibly tender). The cocktails have plenty of ice (a rarity in Rome!). A friend of the owner who is also from Trastevere, Pietro, served my wife and I on our honeymoon, and made us feel like family. Even though we were too stuffed for dessert, the owner and Pietro brought out a complimentary tiramisu, which was the best we’d ever had. If you are lucky and nonna is in town, get her signature chocolate mousse too. Please come here and you will leave with not only a full stomach, but a full heart.

I was here a few months ago when I was in Rome for the first time. We wanted to have a nice place to have some lunch and this was a perfect place to go. When I arrived in Rome this week after a few months this restaurant was something I wanted to visit again. The service is very understanding and nice, the spot is really calm and away from noisy tourist locations. The food is phenomenal, the price isn’t something to worry about and the portions are a good size. I think this is a great place to go when you are in Rome for the first time. Trastevere (where it is located) is also something to really look forward too. Next time when I am in Rome I will definitely come by again!

It's difficult to describe how good it is. Just try the Tomino di pasta fillo as antipasti and you'll understand.

Easily the best foos in Rome , kind and lovely service , amazing atmosphere and a lovely beautiful corner in Trastevere. Everything we ate was incredible .

We absolutely LOVED this restaurant. Carbonara was my favorite in Rome, and the drinks and antipasti were perfect. If I come back to Rome, I’m definitely coming here again :)
