absolute gem in Rome’s Appio Latino neighborhood. The service is amazing. I felt like I was at my Nonna’s, and I’m Asian.

antipasto sampler / charcuterie board, delicious and incredible value
pasta allá gricia, excellent
Grilled steak, very good
Tagliata with porcini, really good
Chicory greens, delightful
Tiramisu, amazing

For me and my family, dinner at the Cocceria Romana was the perfect end to a wonderful day. (So perfect that we went there twice in our four days in Rome.) Here’s what we really enjoyed:

1) The proprietor is charming & welcoming.
2) The food is excellent. At our second visit, my wife was hesitating over what to order, so the proprietor recommended the hand-made gnocci. It was excellent --my kids are still talking about how good it was (the kids kept stealing bites from my wife’s plate).
3) The restaurant is very clean and well-kept.

Please note, this is not a massive restaurant geared to the tourist trade but a small neighborhood trattoria. So you will not be working with folks fluent in English, but goodwill and pointing at the menu will get you a great meal and a memorable experience.

We had lunch here this afternoon and it was amazing! The owner is super friendly and ensures that you have a lovely expierence. Apart from this, the food was amazing and not expensive!

Piacevole scoperta a due passi da Villa Lazzaroni. Avevamo una serata a teatro e abbiamo pensato di venire a mangiare qui.
Accoglienza da parte della proprietaria a dir poco fantastica.
Ci ha fatto sentire a casa dal primo momento.
Cibo ottimo e ambiente caratteristico. Consigliato l'antipasto per due, le mezze maniche alla amatriciana e i tonnarelli alla gricia.
Rapporto qualità/prezzo altissimo e porzioni molto abbondanti.

In 3 per un antipasto, un supplì, tre primi, acqua e vino abbiamo speso 55€.

Peccato abitare lontano, ma se ricapiteremo in zona torneremo sicuramente.

La vera cucina romana in un ambiente familiare dove la gentilezza e la simpatia della proprietaria sono imbattibili. Attenta ad ogni esigenza, è riuscita persino ad anticipare i capricci dei bambini che non volevano attendere che fossero pronte tutte le pietanze del tavolo. Assolutamente da salvare tra i preferiti!!

Locale caratteristico, ben arredato semplice e tipico della trattoria romana. Cucina eccellente, mangi come a casa. Mary, la proprietaria, è una persona fantastica ti accoglie come se ti conoscesse da sempre. Lo consiglio vivamente, ci torneremo anche con i nostri amici.

Non scrivo quasi mai recensioni di ristoranti, ma qui incontriamo un cameriere. Sami era il suo nome ed era fantastico. Era pronto, intelligente, premuroso e ben informato sul cibo. E aveva questo atteggiamento amichevole che piaceva a tutti noi. Alla fine della nostra cena abbiamo detto entrambi: "È il nostro miglior cameriere nella città di Roma".

Tuttavia, il cibo è abbastanza buono e il menu è vario. Nel complesso è un posto abbastanza buono.

Sehr selten eine so schöne, gemütliche, freundliche und heimelige Restaurant-Experience gehabt. Die Besitzerin ist total herzlich und einladend. Das Essen ist Preis-Leistungs-technisch super. Man merkt dass es sehr traditionell römisch ist, sowohl an den Besuchern als auch an der Atmosphäre. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!
