The Garage

The Garage was a great place to stay along our trip along south Iceland. Our group of 4 felt very welcome and the room was large enough for all of us. It was clean and had a small kitchenette for us to cook. The only thing I found a little strange was the large pebble flooring in the shower and lack of shower curtain but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. The hosts also had cake ready for us after a long day of travel. We were also lucky to catch the northern lights right outside our room. Overall it was a great place to stay and I wish I had stayed more than one night!

This was the most authentic experience during our trip in Iceland. It was the only place with Icelandic hosts, who treated us with homemade banana bread. We strolled around the farm and had the hot pot to ourselves. The room was better than the photos. We highly recommend it!

One of the most unique locations I've ever slept in!

Unfortunately, we only stayed for a night, but the room was lovely, and they had the cutest dog ever! He's so friendly, and all he wanted was to play with us; we almost didn't leave because of him.

The room was well-equipped and clean, and the location at the bottom of the mountain was breathtaking.

Hopefully, we will be back!

What a gem! We stayed at The Garage for 4 nights and loved our time there. The studio has everything we needed for our stay and beautiful views of the ocean. Good base to explore the southern region (Vik, waterfalls, glacier…). Bonus: the freshly baked cakes were an absolute treat!!!

A really lovely place. We had the 'middle' room and is was perfect for our short stay. The beds were great, the little kitchenette was the perfect size and had everything we needed. If you want more the reception area had a full kitchen. I wasn't very well when we stayed so didn't get to try the cakes, but I'm reliably informed by my teenage son that they were great!

The Garage was a wonderful place to stay, wish we had stayed longer than one night. We had a room that was spacious and felt like a small cottage. It had everything we needed for cooking a meal. The decor was very cozy and warm. The hosts had cakes for us when we checked in. The room was facing the ocean and there was a waterfall in the back. We would definitely stay here again. This was our favorite stay in Iceland.

This was our favorite of the 5 accomodations we had in Iceland! The view, amenities, and hospitality went above and beyond what I expected! The cold plunge and hot tub were an unexpected treat, as were the delicious homemade Kleinar Anna had waiting for us when we arrived. So thoughtful; She was so welcoming and text with updates about our arrival. Even Heida, her delightful grand daughter was a joy to talk with and learn about Icelandic culture and their pets, too! The room was comfortable with a nice kitchen and even some cooking supplies. Wish we had stayed a few days longer!!! Will forever recommend the Garage to south coast Icelandic Travelers!

My only complaint is that we were there too little time! Great hosts, there was a chocolate cake waiting for us in the kitchen when we arrived :) Very beautiful and cute place!

It's hard to imagine a better place to stay in southern Iceland. Imagine staring at a waterfall while in hot tub after a whole day of hiking. If you would like to stare at sea, just change your position ;) Rooms are clean and fully equiped. Staff is marvelous (the cake was delicious!). Just book this place.

I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. It was very clean and the staff were kind. The owner even baked a cake for us, which was a lovely touch. The kitchen had everything we needed like a microwave, coffee machine, and fridge. Plus, the hotel is on a hill, so the views of the bay are amazing. I would definitely recommend this place.

Well-equipped and very spacious room, with in our case a very large bathroom, an extra kitchen, a dining table, a television and 3 single beds.
The exterior of the room is also very well equipped with a shared kitchen that could be used in case the kitchen in our room was not sufficient, a small living room with a multitude of company people, parking and an outdoor jacuzzi to relax with a day of walking.
The location is very well located and accessible without worries.
The people who take care of it are very friendly and are always available when needed. I recommend this very nice place.

Great stay for two nights in the Garage. The room we stayed in, #1, was well appointed and comfortably slept the three of us. The owner, Jona, was super nice and everything in the guesthouse is extremely artistic and thoughtful touches are everywhere. Really enjoyed the stroll over the property, only regret was not getting a chance to try the hot tub.

Of all the gorgeous places we visited in Iceland, this was my favorite. Super helpful and friendly staff. Homey and comfy rooms with kitchenette which was ideal. Immaculate views to the mountains and the water. Heaven on earth. Thanks for such a wonderful stay. Definitely recommended.

Where to stay? Here! This accommodation is amazing.
The owners and their family are more than friendly and hearty, you can always find fresh cookies or cake in the community area.
Our room was great furnitured, super nice, clean and perfectly equipped. We loved the stones in the ground of the shower.

Fantastic hotel in a great setting with waterfalls and horses. Big clean room with kitchen. We also really appreciate the extremely nice owner to let us use the laundry. The cookies are out of this world. Highly recommend!

I felt the relaxation that I had never felt before. Everything is in harmony. It is in excellent condition. Especially, I hope you will taste the chocolate brownies and cookies of the Garage's mother♡

This is a definite place to go back to! I loved it, the owners were lovely, beautiful scenery, cozy rooms with a lot of charm, and a hot tub to use (which I did). Also home made cakes! The rooms were very clean and tidy, and beds were comfortable. The dog Felix, who loves there also pays you a visit! Lots of places to see and to explore nearby.

The room was just like the pictures shown online, and even bigger and cozier! Bathroom floor was geothermal heated. The room was big and clean. Kitchenette was fully functioning! The is the best stay we have had in Iceland so far and we totally regret only spending one night here. There is also an outdoor bathtub which was super nice to use. Anna was also super nice as well.

If you are finding a place to stay around the area, I can guarantee you THE GARAGE is your best option!
