This lovely little set of waterfalls are amidst some really interesting rock formations all around. Many octagonal jutting basalt columns, and then the same in curved patterns and layers. Since there was a path, I wandered right up to the foot of the falls.

Our guide said that there a lot of 'secret places' like this throughout Iceland. Some years ago a young man (fellow Canadian) visited and brought these secret places into the mainstream.

secluded and contemplative, this geological wonder tempts the weary traveler to stop for a moment and ponder life.
this was one of my favorite waterfalls on my entire journey because it allowed me to take a moment to relax and enjoy the odd scenery at my own pace; while not being hounded by tourists.

Awesome little waterfall that had 1 other car there when we visited. Definitely worth the stop if you are on the way to the highlands.

Great quiet waterfall. Free to visit and parking right next to it. A must see in the area.

Fantastic waterfall a little off the beaten track (on the way to Haifoss and Gjain). We were just exploring the area and hadn’t put this on our list of places to see. So glad we found it, and relatively quiet compared to the places closer to the ring road and golden circle.

Great waterfall to check out if you're in the area!! The falls itself are surrounded by such unique rock formations, it reminds me of the scales of a dragon.

Stunning to see, and to hear the power of the falls. There is a boardwalk leading to and from the waterfall, as well as a picnic table if you want to stop and have lunch while you're stopped :)

Beautiful, hidden waterfall that's easy to get to.
There's an easy path to walk from the parking lot with picnic tables to stop and enjoy a snack.

My group and I came to Iceland in the fall. We also managed to find this majestic waterfall. This waterfall was not the tallest not the most grand, however it was one of my favorite places In Iceland 🇮🇸

Wow! Amazing!!! We were there after 6pm and all alone! This is the most beautiful rock formations I have ever seen. The canyon walls look like dragons rising up out of the ground. The waterfall is impressive. A must do!

A beautiful double waterfall combined with stunning rock patterns makes this an absolutely gorgeous location. If you're driving by or nearby, you should absolutely stop by to at least take a look!

With very access to parking via a short and easy path, this is a stunning twin falls that is definitely worth putting into your itinerary for this day. Upstream from the brink, the river splits around a high rock outcrop, then the two streams angle in toward each other, reuniting in the pool below.

The surrounding rock walls are composed of geometric patterns of basalt columns, adding to the beauty of the site.

Iceland has such a wealth of spectacular sites that it’s often hard to prioritize which to see. We combined this with a drive to nearby Haifoss, another scene that’s almost too beautiful for words.

A nice double-branch waterfall, ideal place for clean water fishing. Not very far from Road 32, close to the Hekla impressive lava fields. No 4x4 car need if you drive carefully.
Not so spectacular like other waterfalls but with a unique perspective in a beautiful landscape.

For me it’s the most beautiful waterfall in Iceland. It’s not very far from the road, it’s a very easy access and you can see the basaltic stones and the cristal clear water.
No one goes there.

Really beautiful spot. The water is so blue. Wish it was warm enough to swim there. There are many waterfalls in Iceland and this is a lesser known but worthy beauty.

A unique parted-in-half waterfall surrounded by black basalt rocks in a mountainous skyline. Away from usual trip roads, it runs in a quiet and peaceful area.

Easy to access and nice waterfall. You could go for a swim easily if you wanted, and saw someone fly fishing while there.
