I had an incredible experience at Mia’s Country Van. The fish and chips were an absolute standout, and I can confidently say they’re the best I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection, the fish was tender, and the crispy exterior added the perfect texture.

What impressed me most was the dedication to quality. It’s a one-man show, and the chef’s skill is truly remarkable. The fries were seasoned just right, and the fish was nothing short of amazing. The outdoor setting in Iceland added a unique charm to the entire experience.

Mia’s Country Van has set the bar high for fish and chips. If you find yourself in the area, don’t miss out on this culinary gem. Kudos to the chef for delivering an unforgettable meal!

Awesome!

I’ve never had fish and chips before but everyone who ate here kept complimenting the owner saying that this is the best they’ve ever had. The fish was buttery and flakey, freshly caught, not too much breading on it. The fries were deliciously seasoned and crispy. There is a salting station with different salt options to add to your plate which definitely was a great add to the dish! It’s easy to miss driving by so keep your eye out for the tiny red truck!

My favourite fish and chips so far! The batter is light and crispy, with the fish fresh and piping hot. Chips were really tasty too. The owner was friendly and explained the condiments available. The salt variety available perfectly enhanced the flavour of the fish. There were nice outdoor seating to enjoy the view while eating. There were only three tables but it was not crowded when we arrived. They accept card payments.

The best fish & chips I had in Iceland! Couldn’t recommend it more. You could choose from 6 homemade salts to put on too.

the fish was so fresh and tasty! I love everything about it! one of the best fish and chip's I've eaten, (and I've eaten a lot of fish and chips, including the ones in the UK) the owner was very friendly and you can tell he really cares about his craft. a must stop if you visit skogafoss!

Not sure how Mia does it. I came just as she opened, only her taking payments and cooking some of the best fish n chips around the ring road. She was very kind in taking orders.

I camped nearby just so I could try her food before end of trip. So I had to order 2 servings, and I am stuffed! She also had an assortment of sauces and salts, all were very tasty.

Only bad thing I could say is the food is a bit oily, but maybe that's what it takes. With how popular this place is getting; I hope they can maintain the experience until my next visit!

Keep being awesome :)

Best fish & chips I’ve ever had. The man at the counter making the food was the nicest person ever. The view of the waterfall while eating the warm fish and fries with their homemade delicious sauces: 10/10 experience.

Mia’s Country Van has not only the most delicious fish and chips in Iceland, but the best fish and chips I’ve ever had so far! My family and I enjoyed the food so much, that we stopped by again towards the end of our trip. The fish is freshly caught… the first time we had the common ling, and the second time was cod. This is definitely a place to try!

This is hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had! The fish is so tender, moist and flaky. The batter is light and crispy and not oily at all! I have had a fair share of fish and chips in my days but this one is the best. The chips are so crispy, you have many choices with the sauces and other condiments. It is such a perfect meal after the hike. Definitely the highlight of our Iceland trip!

Really nice secret spot near the skógafoss waterfall. Luckily it's a bit out of the way so you don't have all the tourist buses coming through. The fish itself is the best cod we've ever had. So soft and creamy. Potato wedges were yummy and the sauces were also great. Perfect after a hike.

I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a must stop. This is by far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The cod is fried perfectly and you have a choice of amazing sauces and home made salts. You can enjoy at the cute picnic tables outside the van or go right around the corner to enjoy at Skógafoss.

Side note, Skógafoss is another must see. It’s gorgeous and right off the parking lot so it’s an easy spot. You can hike up to the top if able (it’s a lot of stairs). So if you’re going to stop here go ahead and plan for a stop at Mia’s.

Can I give more than 5 stars? This has to be the best fish & chips in the world, let alone Iceland. So juicy and crispy at the same time. Mia is very kind and friendly, just a wholesome stop all around. Highly recommended!!

Stefan is so sweet. Literally the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life and by far the best fish I've had in iceland. The van has such a nice vibe, truly a hidden gem.

A gem for anyone looking for exceptional fish and chips. The batter on the fish is light and crispy. The tartar sauce, full of flavor, complements the fish perfectly, while the touch of homemade sea salts really elevates the dish. May be one of the best fish and chips in Iceland. Definitely worth a detour to try, worth all the stars!

It's conveniently situated near the Skógafoss falls. We got fish n' chips with Icelandic sauce and it was delicious! There are different varieties of salt you can choose from. The price is approximately 20 euros for 1 order (the food in Iceland is really expensive so this is relatively cheap 😅)

This place had the freshest fish and the best batter! You have to try all the salts available, too! My favorite was a tie between the smoked birch salt and the thyme salt.

The meal was absolutely delicious, we had fish and chips with garlic mayo and islandian mayo. The owner is very nice, he himself gets 5 stars. There were several people waiting for food and after he'd cooked for everyone he came out of the caravan and asked everybody how they liked the food. He was very sweet and humble. There is a selection of different salts he recommends to you which is the best and the fish is fresh every day. If you are in the area definitely don't skip this.

Best fish and chips we've ever had. If you visit the waterfall, don't look further and get these fish and chips. The tartar sauce was amazing. The wedges were really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fish is huge and tender. It's nothing like other fish and chips. Cute place with a nice owner.
