Absolutely loved our stay at Laugarholl in September. The rooms were big and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and most of all, the buffet at dinner was the best meal we had in our 2 week trip without any doubt, it was a bit expensive but everything was delicious. Breakfast was OK, with different options but not as good as dinner, but this was included with our stay so it was enough for us. The outside pool was not included in the price of the room but for a small fee I was able to try it and really enjoyed it as well. I will visit them again in my next trip to Iceland.

We had functional but nice room; the shared bath was also functional and clean with area to keep stuff during the shower. Included breakfast was ok. The dinner buffet was handmade and tasty. We would book again.

Spend a night on the camp grounds, so can't speak to the hotel. However, the geothermal pool was an amazing way to relax after a long day of travel, and after the sun set, I understood what they meant by "surrounded by sorcery". Truly a magical place.

Viktoria and her staff are incredible. Chez Luis makes amazing food. The hotel is clean , comfortable and beautiful. The hot springs are perfect. I can't wait to return.

Little gem with a warm (geothermal) pool, a small natural hot pot, lovely staff and neat and clean rooms and facilities. We had the aukaherbergi (additional) room that was quite small but we had everything we needed. Very good dinner.

Absolutely lovely hotel! Staff is extra friendly and can recommend good hikes and routes. Breakfast is your usual Icelandic buffet with veggie/vegan options, meat or fish. The rooms are good size, clean, comfy beds. Bathroom is also good and shower has good water pressure.
Best of all are the outdoors, naturally heated pool without chlorine, and the small hot tub on the side. It’ll be the most nature one you’ll find, built with the mountain’s rocks and full of moss. There’s another smaller tub on the side of the pool, with slightly colder water. There are changing rooms and showers at the pool, so you don’t freeze on your way back to your room.
Do stay here, it’s not expensive and truly lovely! ❤

A wonderful place! The owner was quick to accommodate our stay on very little notice late in the evening. We stayed in a double room with a shared bathroom. The bathrooms and showers we're very clean, the beds we're comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. We didn't get around to swimming, but there is a large hot pool on the property that overlooks the river and valley. The hotel used to be a school that the owner's children attended years ago.

Though we did not stay at this hotel, we did visit the pool and hot pot right next to it. The bath house is very clean and well maintained, and goes by an honor system (500 ISK). We had the whole place to ourselves in the morning and it was absolutely lovely.

Easily the best budget accomodation in our first 10 days in Iceland! Spacious room with a view, very nice and helpful employees, an awesome recreational room, and a very hot pool to wash away the day's fatigue.

My other favorite hotel on this trip. It's offbeat and very friendly, it's a fun place to be. Nice big comfortable rooms again, good food with a nice selection, and the pool and hot pots were great. Don't forget to see the Sorcerer's Cottage next door. I made more friends there, some of whom were Icelanders and were glad to answer questions that I had about their country and language. :)

Great hot spring. It's rather small, but I liked it. There is a warm one (40C) and a slightly colder one (37 or 38C) further from the stairway. I wasn't staying at the hotel but the guy at the reception was kind enough to show me where the hot spring and the showers were located. I also liked that he didn't insist on payment before using the hot spring. The one negative is that is people in the swimming pool nearby may generate some noise.

We stopped here for lunch and a look at the Sorcerers Cottage. Lovely quiet area, great wholesome Icelandic food and friendly staff. My dream is to come to stay at the hotel for a quiet few days of rest on my next visit!

Great location in a quiet valley. The pool is just absolutely amazing and the pricing is by far the cheapest I have encountered in Iceland. We stayed on the campsite, which was nice and quiet.
