We came here after a long drive, this is one of only a few restaurants in this little town.
I read some reviews before we went there and i kept seeing so much stuff about their fish soup. Im not a huge fan of fish but i thought lets give it a try.
My goodness those reviews did not lie. The fish soup was AMAZING. It tasted delicious and i wanted more after i finished my bowl. I also had the steak and that didn't disappoint either. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Not to forget they had locally made beer that was also really good!

Nice place. Meat soup was fine, fish soup and baked cod were good. Prices are on the level with other places in Iceland.

We were happy to find a cosy restaurant by the sea. We had only meat soup which was very good. Rich in taste. The bowl was with a medium size. Good for us.

We went for some night snack after a late heavy lunch . Both of us had the fish soup and it was great. A family restaurant run by a couple (I assume) and it feels cozy. The hot chocolate was great with hearty portion of whipped cream. The owner gave us a chocolate cake as we are the last guests. It was amazing.

We stopped here during one of our Icelandic transfers and surprisingly we had one of the best meal of all the Icelandic holiday. The fish soup was really great. I hope to go back sometime.

The food here was amazing! I had the baked fish, and my boyfriend had the lamb steak. There were fewer seafood options than we expected, but maybe that changes seasonally? The restaurant is attached to the museum, but unfortunate we arrived too late to see the museum.

Went for dinner right before the rush happened (6:30pm). About 15 minutes later the place was full.

Staff were very friendly. Fish soup was flavourful and filling (served with bread). We didn't have the pizza but most other tables did and it looked quite good.

Today we came for lunch. We asked waitres where we must order - at the bar or she will come to table. She said that at the table. We took menu and sat. Was waiting about 10+ minutes, that time waitres was doing nothing at the bar ignoring us. After that we left. Can’t say nothing about dishes, but service is = 0.

We had similar bussiness in our country, and closed because of COVID, thats why we now how not plesant is to receive 1 star.

Thanks for fast respond, next time we will visit you to eat our free soup :)

Can't say enough good things about this place. The seafood soup and its side dish was so delicious, and perfect on the cold rainy night that we arrived. The restaurant was adorable with plenty of interesting things to keep us occupied (including a stellar old school rock playlist), and finally the guy running it was really kind and chill - talked to us about the sweet paintings of his cats on the wall (worth seeing, seriously) and even stayed open late for us since we arrived in town at such an odd hour. Absolutely great, unique and in my opinion unmissable if you are passing through and worth the detour even if you're not!

A great place!! It's both a restaurant and museum, so while you wait for your order you can check out the museum (you do have to pay for the museum, but it's pretty cheap) and check out Icelandic culture! We got there half an hour before closing and the man who was there was very kind and didn't make us feel pressured at all to leave. We went to the museum while we waited for our food and he let us know when our food was ready. We ate (great food) and then went back to the museum to finish looking at everything. We stayed until an hour after closing (we didn't notice the time!) and they were very kind! I very much recommend it!

Four of us had the baked fish. It was fantastic!

I called the chef a genius and he came out and gave us a really nice dessert.

Unique dining experience.

We had a delicious fish soup and a delicious cod dish! The cod was glassy/juicy cooked - perfect! What a pleasant surprise the delicious food here was.

We stopping by for lunch after visiting the nearby Sea Monster Museum. Excellent homestyle food. I forgot what we ate. As far as I recall, there's no other or hardly any other dining alternative in that relatively remote Westfjord area. Our AirBnb host in Talknafjordur thought the food to be overrated. Maybe. But I'm happy to support -- in my small way -- the local economy. FYI: the Sea Monster Museum is kind of goofy. I knew that ahead of time. Yet it's an important draw to small local businesses. It's worth a half hour visit and you'll learn some local lore.

Nice place located at the sea, it is also a museum of Icelandic sorcery and witchcraft. The owner can tell you a lot about Icelandic history. He is really nice and open for new people. The place is easy to find and has open every day!

Friendly fast service. The meat soup and curry seafood soup were hot and just right for a chilly Icelandic day.

Best fish soup so far in Iceland. We totally recommend it, specially on a cold windy day.
