Skogafoss Bistro Bar

Situated inside Skogafoss hotel, this restaurant is open to public as well. We found this restaurant to be closest best place to eat after our Glacier hike at Sólheimajökull. They have a bar as well, and a nice comfy hangout area, for guests only enjoying drinks.

They have good soup. Lamb shank is gigantic and has excellent taste. Good lamb burger. Cream brûlée was amazing.

Service is great. Food comes put pretty quickly. The restaurant is little bit of expensive but totally worth it for the food and convenience.

Nice bistro to have a quick lunch. Pricey, yes, but if you are cold and hungry, a big soup portion can be right for you 🤗 semi self service as mostly in Iceland: order and pay at the counter, take a place and then you food will be brought. Many options in kids menu.

Fantastic lunch spot. Food is top notch and extremely fast service. Highly recommend making this a stop along the way while planning meals. Many seats facing the waterfall.

We were staying at the hotel so dinner here was the easy choice. But we had seen several reviews that this was a good place. They were right. We had a variety of different items, from some excellent starters to desserts. Plus, we had nice views of the falls as the sun set.

One of the best meals ever. Price reflects the quality of the meal as well as the atmosphere of being able to see skogafoss from the window as you dine. Friendly and attentive staff, expect a bit of a wait as it is busy and the food is high quality. Could not speak highly enough of the lamb shank, icelandic burger, and creme brulee. My wife and I were tempted to lick our plates clean, but refrained due to the enchanting ambiance. A must visit!!!

Booking through online booking. Fast and efficient. Said normally replies in 6hours but actually replied in 10 mins or so. Food is good too.

Not a tourist trap as far as the food is concerned. Skogafoss Bistro Bar is located within walking distance of the Skogafoss waterfall, so it is super convenient to come here if you are hungry. There I order the local Atlantic Char fish dish, which was very fresh & good. I also had their chocolate brownies, which had fresh cherries on top, which really did complement the meal.

One of the best meals I've had the Char was amazing. It was slow when we went so that probably help.

You can see the falls from the deck or by the windows inside. The meat soup is good. The burger was also among the best we had.

Nice restaurant with beautiful view of the water fall. Good food and friendly staff.

Great location. We grabbed lunch after the waterfall and it was great. We had a view of the waterfall and all the food was well prepared and tasted grear. I had a burger and a bite of the ham and cheese sandwich. Everything was tasty!!

My wife and I stopped in for dinner and; Great view very neat very positive interactions with the staff very quick under two minutes for three or four drinks soup of the day bread and taking orders all very fast but not overwhelming they were just ready as we were or even a minute or so before very affordable not expensive and large portion sizes
It’s going to be pretty hard to find somewhere better than this to grab dinner

This restaurant is right next to the Skogafoss Waterfall and it's a beautiful place with amazing food and service. My husband and I had the lasagna (vegetarian option) and the fish cakes with rice and curry sauce. Both dishes were lip-smacking tasty. Service was quick and the staff were friendly.

The real highlight of this spot is the of course, the location! You can see the waterfall from the restaurant itself and makes for a wonderful backdrop!

The food itself was pretty good too. Vegetarian burgers that don’t use imitation meat are automatically a big win in my book! They have a few local beers available too, which was pretty nice!

Great place to eat.The views are as amazing as the food. Take a look at menu I have attached as there is a variety of items. I really enjoyed my meal and the astonishing views of the waterfall.

GET THE VEGGIE LASAGNA! It was so good I wanted to cry. I’ve never had such AMAZING FOOD at a restaurant. The fries were sooo tasty. The lamb soup wouldn’t but I thoroughly believe you should order it because it was well crafted. The views were absolutely great around 4pm

We both had the lamb served with pureed potatoes and seasonal veg and it was beautiful. Largest leg of lamb I've ever had! It is a little pricey as we just had that and a soft drink each and it was almost £100 GBP, but no regrets it was so tasty! We didn't see much of the view as we arrived later than planned and it had gotten dark.

The soup was amazing, very friendly staff, highly recommended

Came in for a quick drink after Hiking the glacier. The beer was cold and the soup was warm. Staff was very polite and even gave my wife a sample of the soup before she ordered a whole bowl

We had a great lunch here before we were going to the waterfall. The service was good, the food was nice, and there were plenty of options.
