Surprisingly cool place to view the sea and look at the moon at night! Parking available. A short climb up to the top and you are also able to take a stroll around the cliff area

This is a great town to visit. It was a little off our route but we wanted to hit the grocery store. Ended up driving through town and parked at the lighthouse. Really cool short hike and you get an incredible view out over the water. Some good shops in town and a great hot dog stand across the street from the Bonus.

The old lighthouse, which still continues to serve. It is located on a hill with a beautiful view of the harbor and a small and very cozy city Stykkisholmur. In good weather, from this point you can even see the western fjords.

You can see the whole city from this mountain! Considering there isn't much to do in such a small town, it is a must to hike to the lighthouse :)

Visited May 2022. Cute little lighthouse at the edge of this town. Very windy on the top. There are well defined tracks for a walk or a run. You can get a good view of the town from here too.

You head up some stairs and then the lighthouse isn't much at all. But there are paths around the little island up there and there are very pretty views. Very steep sides but you look out over the for George with mountains on the other side

Nice sunset spot.

It's not the best of the world, but if you've going to spend a night here. You better stop by the lighthouse and chilled, watching a sunset here.

Be aware: It's quiet windy but worth it.

Nice place and peace of history.
Free parking at the bottom, easy walk, but be prepared to be blown away by the wind.

Beautiful location, specially to view the northern lights if the sky is clear.

What a nice view of the harbor and surrounding bay. An easy set of 50+ steps takes you to the top.

A very peaceful place at the coast of west Iceland. There is a short hike up to the lighthouse. The view from up the small hill is extraordinary. You can see the whole city, at the opposite side, you can see islands. The rock formation of the small hill is also marvelous. We were there in February, and the stairs were covered with hard ice. It was very tough to climb up but we didn't miss the opportunity. It was raining a little and when we got up, the sun started shining and we were welcomed by a rainbow above the lighthouse. It was amazing.

The path to the lighthouse is a bit difficult, if someone has physical issues, but can be done with patience...there are some steps to make up to the top. The wind at the top was really strong, so be prepared.
We saw also a killer whale while standing there.

One of two best view points on Stykkilsholmur. Very easy walk up to island. Also a very good place if there are northern lights.

Awesome lookout point where you can see the whole town of Stykkishólmur and the surrounding area on a clear day. There’s parking just below and it’s a quick walk up to the top. Can be very windy! :)

We had a lovely little walk up and around this island with amazing views all around. It was well worth it!
Beautiful to get a view of the town used as a location in the movie The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty - we only realised this when watching the film later on!
