Very cute and cozy little restaurant. The food was excellent and so was the service. It felt like we were at someone’s house. I would definitely recommend this place for delicious Icelandic dinner.

Good food, good mood!
A super cosy restaurant with heartwarming ambience in Stykkishólmur, right next to the filming location of the harbor scene in the Walter Mitty movie!
We tried the Icelandic Lamb, Mussels and Seafood Soup which are recommended there!
The staff were really friendly and easy going!
Top-notch!

Fantastic high quality food. Surprised to find this jewel in the off-season of Stykkisholmur, which itself is not THE tourist spot. Huge selection also of alcoholic beverages (whines and cocktails).

Incredibly aesthetic & delicious dinner at Narfeyrarstofa! We tried whale for the first time, and it was delicious! (Note: We found out that there are some ethical concerns about whale for human consumption, and Iceland and Japan are the only two countries that still offer whale. So do with that knowledge what you will.)

The scallops and pan fried cod were also incredible. My husband also gained a new love for salt on buttered bread after going to Iceland (fueled in part by this restaurant).

We actually arrived at the restaurant without a reservation at the tail end of their lunch service. We asked if it'd be possible to have dinner instead of the lunch menu, and the staff kindly allowed us to order dinner a bit early. We really appreciated their flexibility.

It was the most beautiful dinner we had in Iceland. Especially the main courses, it tasted beyond what I could imagine 🥹 SOO GOODD 😭
We had the cod fillet and scallop for main course which is amazingg!!! Texture was great, it melted inside your mouth, full of flavor, and also visually pleasing.
The restaurant is not very big but it was full, so book a table before coming ok!

An unexpectedly precious discovery. This restaurant provides an experience beyond just a meal. The staff are coordinated, experienced and professional. We were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation but I would recommend making one. You could consider this a high-end restaurant but the patrons are not precious about the dress code which makes it an ideal way to end a tour of the peninsula. Dishes are varied and express the chef's passion, you'll even find a Dishoom inspired cod dish. Cod (sizable portions) is cooked to perfection with calibrated accompaniments. Perfect for a romantic meal to end an Icelandic vacation. Would recommend both the Indian style cod and the traditional pan fried cod.

Wonderful little restaurant serving traditional Icelandic food. Great service, exceptionally well-made food. The lamb, cod, cauliflower, and chocolate cake were exceptional.

What an amazing find! My partner and I had the most delicious meal here, accompanied by fantastic service. The fish soup was incredibly tasty whilst both the fish mains were to die for! From the first sight of how well presented the dishes were, to the wonderful aftertaste, we were both extremely happy to choose to eat here!
We loved the whole evening and would 100% recommend it to anyone wanting a lovely meal out together.

This was amazing. Service was great, atmosphere was very cozy.
Had the Fish and Chips and was amazed. Super crunchy crust and meaty and moist on the inside. Perfectly seasoned. Amazing!!!

don't waste your time to go to a Restaurant and try to save money when you would like to enjoy Icelandic cuisine. Just stay away and go to a fast food place where you don't need fork and knife.
We took advantage of the marvellous 4 course dinner. First whale, very different, then scallops, nicely presented, the main course was lamb and cod, both very nicely cooked with greens and new potatoes. The Icelandic Tiramisu was different but a sweet treat you won't forget. Those moments are worth to pay a fortune. Even if we are in a Camper all the way from Europe.

Definitely one of the best meals I've ever eaten! The barata appetizer flavors were amazing and presentation.....like in a culinary magazine. The lamb with broccolini and carrots and potatoes with sauce was made with love ... quality ingredients and super fresh. The ice cream I had and the tiramisu for my wife afterwards just sealed it for us.
Get a reservation.....you will not be disappointed. The setting and the staff were great as well. The town itself is a postcard and to have this there in it. A slice of heaven.

We drove 35min to Narfeyrarstofa from Grundarforour for a traditional and delicious meal and we were not disappointed. Beautiful Restaurant from the history of the building to the amazing service and mouth watering food. We had the four course meal of whale tale, scallops, lamb and tiramisu. Every dish was a flavourful experience. The chefs know what they are doing and the pricing in my opinion was very fair. Considering what you would pay in a big city for a meal of this quality, it’s a go to place it you want a fine quality meal! Our waitress was lovely we did not get her name but she was a ginger haired girl who was very kind. Would definitely recommend. We have fallen in love with Iceland and when we come back I will be making sure I come by for another delicious meal!

Fresh and delicious! Also the best bread & butter I've ever had! It was soft, crusty and warm, and served with garlic butter and smoked salt *drool*. Meals were amazing too, we got the cod and the scallops which were served artistically on a half log

Amazing restaurant

Everything was perfect, the serving, food, and drinks.

We had fish and chips (the best fish and chips I’ve tasted), fish of the day perfectly cooked, fresh mussels, and tiramisu.

The price was a bit high, but it is understandable considering the quality of the food and services. We payed 50€ per person.

No matter what you order, get those fries too! Crispy, salty perfection. Two of us had the fish soup (so good), one had the fish sandwich (very tasty) and another enjoyed fish and chips. The fish isn’t traditional, as it includes finely crushed Doritos for an additional crunch, but it was very tasty. Would definitely come here again!

Had a very lunch here. Nice hamburgers and fish of the day ( salmon). Both were excellent. Also the homemade bread with garlic butter we got as an appetizer was very good. Nice ambiance. Now if everybody that enters remembers to close the door...

Beautiful bar slightly underground. The restaurant above has a lovely assortment of food. The bartender, Johan, has a charming personality and is a wonderful person to chat with after a day of hiking and sightseeing.
