Truly we just visited the island of Heimaey because of the Slippurinn. We had an amazing 8 course dinner with local dishes and ingredients & each course had its maximum of taste explosions. As a starter we had some really good cocktails with local herbs from the island which were so special and extraordinary in their tastes. We definitely enjoyed the kitchen and recommend everybody to go for a visit when you’re traveling to Iceland - experience this journey of new tastes. Also the staff was very kind and courteous. We’re looking forward to come back again! :-)

Absolutely stunning food. One of the best you can find in lceland. Although restaurant is not the cheapest one, it's worth all the money. Probably the best is to take there set of 8 dishes where you can try different tastes all composed from the local food. Service in this restaurant is very professional and super friendly. It's highly recommended to book table in advance. It gets really busy in the evening hours.

Best lamb I've ever had - such wonderful combination of different tastes. The different fish dishes were also great. One service star removed for giving us alcoholic beer instead of non-alcoholic beer, although they had the same name. Overall it was still amazing. Just be very clear about your allergy.

The monkfish and the lamb were delicious, and cocktail menu very creative. Hard to have anything less than amazing atmosphere on this island in the summer. Definitely go for the whipped skyr dessert.

Literally the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. Words can’t explain the culinary experience we had here, the absolute freshest fish, all delivered to your table by the chef himself.... we did the 5 course meal with house wine carafe and it was life changing....

Simply the best restaurant in all of Iceland! If there is only one restaurant you can visit while you are in Iceland, make sure it's this one. All ingredients are locally sourced, the atmosphere and the waiting staff are superb, and the food will melt in your mouth, introducing flavors you haven't experienced before. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

This was like stepping into a trendy restaurant in Manhattan. The building was once a ship yard and has been beautifully restored. It’s a fun, funky atmosphere. The meal we ate was the best of my life. Unforgettable experience.

What an amazing place. You can taste the love of life that the cook carries in his heart, merged with local flavors. I have seen many places but the atmosphere and tastes are unique.

Excellent!!! If you are in westman islands you have to go. It was incredible! Definitely get fish and get a cocktail made from local foraged ingredients. Staff was nice attentive and helpful, decor is really nice-rustic industrial with modern elements, cozy and not pretentious. Cured halibut was excellent, had wolf fish and salted cod. Definitely worth it!!

Similar to a Michelin starred restaurant. The restaurant opens only 3 months a year (June to August). It offers the freshest produce and best ingredients the island has to offer. Highly recommended place, not to be missed.

Where to start? I guess with a cocktail: they take local ingredients and create wonderful drinks. I loved their birch cocktail. Overall, a sophisticated and delicious take on "forest to table." Foodie heaven. Expensive, and worth it.

Truly the best food we had in Iceland, by far ! It was a real treat, prepared with passion and generosity, using a lot of local ingredients. Revisiting Islandic cuisine in a fine way. A very interesting proposition executed with brio by a highly professional team. The place is beautiful, warm, comfortable. The prices are very fare and totally worth it.
Tasted most of the menu and loved all the dishes. Meat and fish are very nice.
They also have gluten free options.
Deserts are a treat :-)
We hope to come back one day!

This was phenomenal! I love how they managed to combine sustainability with nordic cuisine in an impeccable way! It is amazing how much care goes into creating the seasonal menues, the design and the sourcing of local ingredients only😍. We had the 7 tasting course(1 with fish and other vegetarian) and we were blown away by the textures and intricate flavour pairings! I particularly liked the cod skin, wild seabird eggs and the skyr dessert with sorrel sorbet! This was by far the best dining experience while in Iceland. Thank you, we will be back for sure💜. The service, drinks, and food were amazing. Pricey but so is everything here, at least you'll be sure to enjoy it. The bread they brought out at the beginning was phenomenal.so were the crushed and fried potatoes and the date dessert.

The best meal you can have in Iceland is on this island. If you want to know the flavors of iceland this is the restaurant to try. We met the head bartender and one of the chefs havesting sugar kelp and told us all about the restaurant. The chef has incorporated the best flavors of iceland into every dish. I've never had such amazing flavor combinations. There are restaurants in Reykjavik that cannot come close to the dishes served here. I see a Michelin stars coming for this restaurant.
We ordered the catch of the day (pleice), the lemon sole and the blue Ling. All 3 fish dish was executed perfectly. We ordered all of the starters except for the lamb and all 3 desserts. The rhubarb cake is a must. Do not leave vestmannaeyjar island without having a meal in Slipperinn.

Truly fabulous! Very unexpected... The ambiance is lovely, the staff is accommodating and friendly, and the food was phenomenal! If you can make it out here, you absolutely must visit this place for a meal, some kombucha, and some coffee. Icelandic fare has changed dramatically over recent years, and now that there are more ingredients to work with we have an opportunity to see what Iceland is capable of, which is nothing short of amazing.
