Followed google maps, landed here and happy about that. I tried horse for the first time of my life. Was not my target to be honest. Then the waiter let me try… and the peppersteak was just fantastic🫢 thank you!

The food was pretty good (on par with the food from Stracta Bistro), and definitely much bigger portions than anything you’ll get at surrounding restaurants. The prices were decent for Iceland standards (just expect everything to be expensive). We were looking for more of an authentic/low key spot and that’s definitely what we got. The staff were also very nice and the food came out very fast. Most of the negative reviews on here are extremely picky and overly critical.

We had an incredibly yummy Icelandic meal here. We highly recommend the Plokkfiskur (Icelandic Fish Stew) and the Fried Fish with Shrimp Sauce!!

Food was very tasty, service was very good. We had some of their daily offers - horse steak with French fries and salad (the icelanding soup was separated).

We had a great time here. The food was great esp plokkfiskur, lamb chop and bbq pork. The fries are good too. We stayed in the hotel and the restaurant staff, a young man is helpful and friendly. Thanks to his advice and guidance we manage to see northern light tonight for the first time in our lives.

Very nice and simple Icelandic roadside restaurant, which I think is lodging too. We just came for a quick meal as it was dinner time and restaurants do tend to close early compared to most North American cities. Get the lamb chops on the menu, I think they also serve horse and fish as well.

There is an inn attached to the restaurant, where we stayed on our first night in Iceland. The food seemed to be on the expensive side, given our first meal was at IKEA. HOWEVER, I felt it was totally worth it! We tried the shrimp dish and the horse steak fillet, and both are amazing. The shrimp dish comes with 8 shrimps in assorted flavours: coconut, cheese, Cajun, and almond with 2 dipping sauces. The horse steak first looked burnt from the outside, but don't be fooled! The inside is just the right amount of done-ness, very tender and flavourful! I unfortunately sat at a booth facing a small photograph on the wall, of two adorable Icelandic horses... oh why are they so cute and delicious!!! *cue Homer Simpson eating pet lobster Pinchy*

Really good food (horse and fish) and nice people working there. Good atmosphere, music and it's close to main road/gas station/shop.

Food was delicious, especially horse steak, must try. Staffs were friendly. Serving is fast. Nice atmospehere for dinner.

The food was perfect!! So tasty and fresh. It was a great find after a long day of travelling & site seeing. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely great food! It’s not the best looking restaurant from the outside and inside, but don’t be afraid the food is really good and prices are good.

Had the fish and chips which everybody raves about. And it did not disappoint. Beautifully moist pieces of fish in a light crispy batter. Chips were ok. A tad dry, perhaps, but altogether rather good still.
But also had their special, which was labeled "Fried slices of lamb with fries and sauce". Now this was an incredible dish. I generally don't like lamb because of the strong gamey taste it tends to have (back where I'm from), but this lamb had absolutely no gamey taste at all. It had a delicious meaty flavor with a perfect char on its surface. Together with the sauce (which I couldn't quite place; was creamy and buttery and satisfying), the combination was amazing.

We were driving for hours on the ring road and then we were lucky enough to stumble upon this place... And lucky we were - the food was more than amazing, the portions were HUGE and the staff were so kind. If you are somewhere near Iceland - visit this place now!

I stayed recently opposite the road and hands-down, this place is better in rooms, furnishings and feel.

Not too far from Vik too.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. View from the enclosed, outdoor patio was amazing. Definitely recommend stopping in. If it's not meal time you'll surely find something to give you a relaxing break.

Can’t comment on the food as we only ordered coffee. However, what I would like to say is that the service that we were given here was excellent. We were here in the early morning to get out of the cold and rain, and it seemed that all the restaurant had to offer was the breakfast buffet (which we were not interested in as we had just had breakfast). However, the young waitress attending to us could see that we wanted a hot drink, and offered to make us fresh coffee even though the only coffee available onsite was the filtered coffee at the breakfast buffet. The coffee - we got an Americano and a Latte - was also excellent for Icelandic standards.

Service was very friendly and food came quickly. As an American I had to try the Filet from horse and it was good! If I wasn't told what it was, I'd assume I was eating beef.

A fantastic meal this evening. They booked me a table at short notice. The food was great from the fish, steak, burger and pizza. The staff were great with my baby which is so helpful when eating out with family. Excellent meal.

The best Icekandic Meat soup, possibly the best soup I've ever had in my life! The lamb is also to die for. They have an amazing lager with a high ABV, but smooth finish and light flavor.
