Arnanes Country Hotel

We had an all-around wonderful stay at the hotel. Not only were the rooms clean and comfortable, the food tasty, and the service impeccable, but what truly stood out was the helpfulness of the owners. When our car got stuck in the snow, they came to our aid without hesitation. This hotel impresses not only with its quality in all areas but also with its warm and dedicated staff. Highly recommended!

My friends and I stayed there for a night. We reserved two different rooms that were small but cozy and comfortable. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was also good. Recommend!

A fantastic cottage style lodge surrounded by amazing scenaries & landscapes. Amazing host & hospitality (forgot her name but she reminds me of Dorothy from Golden Girls). Will definitely stay here again when we return to Iceland. Also, it was here we got to see the amazing Northern Lights. Absolutely a gem of a place.

Absolutely lovely place to stay to situate yourself to see Hofn and the Jökulsárlón glacier. The rooms are very comfortable and a delicious complimentary breakfast is provided. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again if I'm lucky enough to return to Iceland.

While I expected Iceland to be different from LA and NYC, I didn't understand all these privately operated Cottages, Inns, and BNBs. Arnanes Country House exceeded all expectations. In the middle of no where between amazing the North Atlantic and mountains/glaciers, I could have stayed 3 or 4 days longer. Everything worked including internet. Spectacular views. Excellent breakfasts and dinner. Top Quality Staff. Plus a piano and museum quality photos/art on the walls of the main lodge. I would return. My wife is equally enthusiastic. Thank you, A+

We truly enjoyed our stay! The proprietors are welcoming and the service is great. Location could not be beat. Rooms are very, very clean and have everything one needs. Mattress is fantastic--only thing we would change is the bed is 2 twin put together (space down the middle) which is also fine. Overall we would book again!!

Our best stay in Iceland. Clean, calm, extremely helpful and kind owners, perfect breakfast (homemade lamb pate was superb). The restaurant runs only in high season, but they have a piano for a free play.

We loved our stay here during a non-peak tourism time-frame. Breakfast was pretty good and a decent spread. There weren't any eggs, bacon, etc. warm dishes. All cold dishes. Loved the two types of herring (pickled & spiced), especially. Room we got was larger than expected and soundproofing was fine. We heard birds in the morning but not neighbors, thankfully. The people working here are so friendly and had great suggestions for dining in the area. It seems the owner had friends living in the area over to hang out, even. Really close-knit and charming. The facilities were clean and beds comfortable. Highly recommend!

Stayed in the hotel in the end of November 2022. Cosy rooms with everything covering basic needs. Rooms are warm and silent. The staff on the reception is very good. We were driving through the night, but they agreed to wait for us. Upon arrival they met us warmly and even offered some options from the bar. Next morning there was plenty of food for breakfast, including both British and Icelandic food. After the breakfast the host advised where to go and what to see in the area. The whole stay was cosy and pleasant. Perfect service for that price.

Very clean and tidy rooms, brilliant heating when coming back from a cold walk. Hosts were incredibly lovely (even coming and knocking on our door to tell us the Northern Lights were showing) and recommending stunning local walks. Breakfast was an amazing spread. Would 100% recommend. Thank you!

We spent two nights at the Arnanes Country Hotel and absolutely loved it. It is well situated and close to the major sites in the area which are all only a short drive away.

Their breakfast buffet is very nice. While we were there we could choose from some sliced veggies, eggs, cheese and some sliced meat for our sandwiches, fruit and cookies / crackers and different cereals and juices.

The room was very clean and had a nice atmosphere and view. The beds were very comfortable.

The owners were super friendly and could give us good recommendations on dinner in Høfn and activities around the peninsula.
Best of all they were kind enough to wash some of our clothes in their private laundry machine. In German, we call someone like this a "Ehrenmann".

The owners are lovely people. The rooms were really clean with a great view over the horse pasture next door. The included breakfast had a bit of everything, multiple cereals that could be enhanced with various seeds (including hemp hearts) dried fruits, multiple types of bread and jams, meats and cheeses, and some fruit and vegetables.

Great place to stop and relax with a steaming hot shower after many days on the road in a camper van.

beautiful location, really lovely people. The food was great, and breakfast is included. The views from the restaurant are wide fields and 4 glaciers in the background.

Nice clean rooms, lovely facilities! Have everything you need i.e. hair dryer, kettle, heated, TV. Breakfast is typical icelandic continental style with many cereal and juice choices.

Absolutely amazing place to stay! The hosts were so lovely and helpful, the room was bright and cozy, the shower was hot and clean, and the location was beautiful. I would 100% recommend staying here!

We simply loved it! We were on a photographic tour of the island and we stopped by for one night. The rooms are clean and comfortable, really charming. Great views to the landscape. We have dinner and breakfast and we ve been really well attended. We were attended by the owner and he was really kind with us. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was clean and cozy, with a balcony and a great view. Very peaceful. The location was very good - we went to Hofn for dinner, less than 10min away, and we visited the Jokulsarlon glacier in the morning, less than an hour drive). Breakfast was lovely and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend

I was thrilled with our stay here. We've been traveling around the country and stayed here last night and it's been the nicest so far. While we did have to share a bathroom with another couple, it was very nice and the view from our second floor room was GORGEOUS 😍The owner was super friendly and when we were a little late to miss the posted happy hour he still have us the discount and sat and talked about how they make their own beer and cook everything fresh from the farm. The breakfast was so fresh and delicious, the internet worked great and we had a TV in our room with English speaking channels. I would highly recommend eating all of your meals there.

Very clean and cozy guesthouse. Breakfast selection was simple and adequate. Service was great. Shared toilets were very clean. We managed to catch a glimpse of the aurora too!! Highly recommended!
