We were here on 18.10.23 in early morning when the weather was very cloudy and foggy. We waited until late morning then the fog disappeared and the sun shined revealing the amazing scenery of the mountains and black sand beach. It’s worth to wait for the wonderful beauty of nature.

I am shocked to see anything less than 5 stars. This place was priceless ❤ the cafe is sweet too, I got a handmade lopapeysa there

One of the best, most picturesque locations in Iceland as it is the location of Vestrahorn mountain. You can hike around the area as well but every time I visit I find myself too immersed in the photo ops here. Visit on a clear sky night and in the right night, you can get a beautiful display of the Northern Lights behind the mountains. The only that sucks here is you have to pay but there's also a gate that you need to scan your ticket, which is good for two entries only so plan ahead.

Gorgeous cool spot, but be warned if the mountain is cloudy in the car park, this is the main attraction and it is not worth the fee if you can’t see the mountain!
The fee is very high and applies even if you walk from the car park, with strict barriers and fences. We did enjoy the Viking village also but it’s not worth just to see it.

Beautiful mountains over a black sand beach. You have to pay 1000 ISK per person to enter the area both by car and by feet, you can buy tickets at the reception of the cafe. It takes 1-2 minutes to drive to the beach where you can see the view, the beach and some coast guard area. Then if you want you can walk or drive to the old Viking settlement, but it’s not a major attraction - doesn’t look very authentic although it’s indeed one of the first places that we’re inhabited in Iceland.

Stellar views of the mountains on a black sand peninsula. Just walking around here felt amazing. There's even a movie prop Viking village nearby! You pay for access at the cafe. Totally worth it.

Worth the hype, such a beautiful place my heart is full. This is a private property, you pay at the viking cafe at the gate, 3 stops total all worth it, you need 1-1.5 hours to explore this place, more time is better.

My 2nd visit here, this time I stayed at the viking cafe for 1 night, simply put a stunning location, it was raining and gloomy but totally enjoyed the vibe here 👌👌

We got the chance to see the whole area in good weather and we were thoroughly impressed. The Viking village is well worth the travel and is especially nice for kids. There are a couple of excellent viewpoints of the surrounding peaks. On the right-hand side, you can take a stroll on the black beach. To the left, you can climb the cliff next to the lighthouse and maybe see some seals. All told, a great way to spend 2-3 hours.

Entrance fee is 1.800 for two people in one car. Definitely worth it when the weather conditions are fine.
Early in the morning mostly well equipped photographers were waiting for the perfect light. Little bit later it became more crowded … the guys in Gucci sneakers arrived with their drones. So better come early in case you want to enjoy the beauty of this place.

Gorgeous beach in South Iceland, although it is a bit of a steal to charge $10 per person to go past the gate. It is worth it though!

How this place can get only 4 stars ? For me one of the best place in South Iceland to be. Look for unpredictable waves I didn't so I could feel how water can be cold in April :)

Heads up, you have to pay a small fee to get in. Kind of a bummer but it was worth it for us. It's an absolutely gorgeous area of Iceland with tons of diverse photo opportunities, some pleasant walking trails, and a few particularly unique attractions. They filmed part of The Witcher in the prop viking village that you can walk through.

This place is gorgeous, impressive, magnificent, at least for us. We went there with little or no expect, and it ended being a highlight on our trip.

Unmissable place if you already paid for the Viking center.
It is such a gem out of nowhere, really worth it. The view is magnificent, and if you are lucky enough you might see some otters swimming in the sea.
We were not able to get to the lighthouse, but the view is worth it anyway.

Wonderful views. You have to pay to get in but its worth it! If you go to the cliffs, you should be able to spot seals. We even got to see feeding whales.

Stokkness (and Vestrahorn) is a beautiful place to visit in Iceland. The beach, dunes, and mountain are stunning. Our photography tour group took us to Stokkness to view the Northern Lights.

Amazing views regardless of weather. Vestrahorn is a beauty of a mountain and it was epic to see it in person and photograph it.
