Love each and every waterfall in Iceland! The hike can be a bit much for some. After leaving the lower lot and going through the spinning gate head to the left and over the rock field and up the semi-steep incline. Path is marked well. We went to the falls and not the bridge. Totally worth it!

This waterfall was quite powerful when we were there in mid-Nov. It is a paved road up to the waterfall and a parking area. It is then just a short and easy walk to the viewpoint. If you continue up the road there is a picturesque opening near where you can see the river that feeds the waterfall.

This was one of our favorite waterfalls. The hike is was not too long. The small waterfall leading up the larger was was not too difficult, but does require some work for some people. When we went in July 2022 we was able to in the waterfall area for 20 minutes with no other visitors. It allowed us the soak up the experience!!

I love all waterfalls in Iceland. This one was a surprise to me. Great surroundings in the nature there. It’s next to the ring road. Don’t miss it!!

Nice foss. The parking lot looks really recently done. Once you exit the car, follow the grated gravel path (downhill).

Great waterfalls with that blue hued water great photo ops its located by the foothills there's not a lot of parking space and it gets packed easily as it is easily accessible by a paved road. Great view of the lake downhill too.

Another must see waterfall and great trail while traveling down the east side coast through the mountains.

Beautiful falls area... Make sure to take in both views. Lower area on the south side has parking and WC. You can cross the bridge and hike up to the upper viewing area, but it's much easier to take the access road on the north side of the bridge. Park after the first switchback at the hill top and head over to the sheep's gate. Watch your step as they are working on installing a new path and observation area.

(pics from July 2017): although i wouldn't go out of my way per se to visit this waterfall (since there's so much else to see while in Iceland), it was a pleasant surprise to come accross this waterfall that seems like it is in the middle of nowhere!! The viewing area is not far at all from the road. I didn't hike down to it, the hike doesn't seem to be challenging.

Narrow one lane uphill drive for a short length. Worth it for the view, easy short walk to the viewpoint.

Nice little pull off the ring road. We were the only ones there (April) and it was definitely worth a stop. The parking lot is a short walk away from a view point. The terrain is steep, but nothing more than a couple hundred steps.

If you have a 4x4 vehicle- definitely take this turn off and go up as high as you can. Walking around near the river with the lake in the background is absolutely stunning. We were pleased that there weren’t many other people, especially up higher, and we were able to get tons of pretty pictures of the gorgeous landscape.

The waterfall can change drastically from one day to another. There is a brand new parking spot and walking path nearby. The whole valley is provided with electricity generated using the river’s energy

One of our favorites! You can walk up above the waterfall and put your feet in water, hop on the rocks, have a picnic etc!

Lovey area and superb waterfall. If your up for it, go up further with the car and walk up the rest of the way, to see many many more. The area has lots of blueberries as well so keep your eyes open.

A short walk from the parking lot but a beautiful waterfall. I wanted to see some sheep and this waterfall did not disappoint with views or sheep. Great quick stop.

Stunning and powerful, the hike up (the south side) is not easy but also not difficult. These are dangerous rocks, but not that high, be careful! Highly recommend due to the serenity, this is off the beaten tourism track of the south of Iceland, it has that going for it. Also no busses, since the hike would be too much for that crowd.
