Bragdavellir Cottages

Stunning location! Loved that the host included history of the land that the cottages sat in. These are basic needs cabins, warm, clean, dry and comfortable. The views were otherworldly. A great place to stop for the night.

Marvelous place with unforgettable views and a pinch of wind, present enough for the houses to be named after Icelandic wind expressions. The area encourages you to take walks to discover that there is a waterfall worth seeing in the area, and the wildness of the surrounding space makes you howl at the moon.

We stopped by Bragdavellir for a meal and were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful restaurant onsite. The ambiance of the place is warm and welcoming with a small outdoor patio that overlooks the mountains and a distant waterfall that you can hike to.

We ordered a Veggie Sandwich with fries and Lummur (our first time trying it!) For takeout, and enjoyed the food a lot. Last but not least, the staff was extremely warm and polite. We highly recommend the place and would be excited to explore the cottages next time as well.

The cottage is very beautiful and lost in nature. It is built in wood and we found it very clean. Actually we saw the northern lights!
It is perfect for four people but in five or six you can have problems with morning sunlight.

Cabin was nice and clean. We booked last minute and check-in was very easy. Beds were comfortable. I wish we had a blanket for the ones staying on the sofa bed, other than that we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed one night after the speedboat glacier tour, it’s a bit drive but we are so glad we found this place, we just wish we could stay longer. It’s one of the best cabin/hotel we stayed in Iceland, the view is amazing and I saw some deers right in front of our cabin. The checkin and out is easy and the kitchen has everything we need to prepare a meal and hot water. We will definitely come back next time we are in Iceland.

The views are world class, there are various beautiful waterfalls at a short hike distance and the cottages are cozy and well maintained.

Cosy and warm. At night we could hear the sound of water running, there was a small river close by and in the morning we walked a bit in the surrounding area, which was breathtaking. We had a barbecue that night and it was a bit hard to find gas but we made it work.

Nice and clean cottages with top notch linens and duvets for a good night's sleep. Cabin had a good warm shower and all the basics you need. Communication was responsive and friendly and the owners are obviously very gracious hosts :). Beautiful mountain views all around and nice hiking options from the cabin to explore nearby waterfalls and mountains. The location is great as a base for exploring the eastern fjords by car. Highly recommend if you're looking for a private cabin to on your travels in the east.

Great location. Perfect stop around the ring road. Take your time in this area as it is so peaceful and beautiful. Could of easily spent a couple days here just exploring the area and hiking directly from the door. Cabin was clean and well organized. Plan to cook a meal and sit on the patio to enjoy the view.

Wonderful little cabins on a farm. The area is gorgeous The kitchen was stocked with pots ands pans as well a small electric stove top. Great experience all around.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by their incredibly enthusiastic and friendly farm dog, such a delight! The cottage was clean, warm and had everything we needed. This is the perfect location to do some star gazing or watch the northern lights!

Hoping to do another Iceland trip in the summer one day and will definitely try to visit again!

SO glad we were able to stop here!!! The owners of the cottages and farm are incredible, he made me a special vegetarian meal himself and accommodated a food allergy, and it was AMAZING! Best stop of our trip in Iceland, the waterfall is breathtaking, the owners dog will act as a guide for you if you’re lucky! Loved loved the experience, the people, and the GREAT food.

What a lovely property! So quaint, clean and comfortable. Love the location and scenery. The restaurant onsite is very convenient.

Loved our stay here. Cottages were cozy with some really nice touches. They sit on a beautiful piece of farmland that guests are welcome to explore. We were also very pleased with the restaurant that was on site.

Our cottage had all we needed. Rooms have heating so even cold and strong icelandic winds were not scary. We reached quite late but without bigger problems found our cottage thanks to excelent information given via e-mail. In bathroom we found even hair dryer and shower gel. We could prepare our own hot drinks and small dinner as we had a small kitchen. Beds were comfortable. The best was view in the morning... breathtaking.

Really nice cottages and easy self check in ! We spend one really good night and everything was perfectly clean 🌼 what a view of the fjord too !

Stayed here for a night.
We arrived late and without reservation. There is a booth in the place with a phone available to contact the owner, who came within 15 minutes to get us settled.
The cottage was super comfortable, warm and clean.
We really enjoyed the night!

If I could give them 10 stars I would. If you skip this place, you are MISSING OUT. Not only is the walk to the waterfall and the waterfall itself unbelievably beautiful, but the family that owns the cottages are the nicest people you will ever meet. We had the best lunch we’ve had in Iceland. The cod, sheep burger, and the veggie plate wereto die for. What’s even nicer, is they made a special dish just for vegetarians, and it was AMAZING. We had three desserts; the waffle, ice cream and chocolate cake, and each one was a little taste of heaven. The prices are affordable, and the dishes are spectacular. I can not say enough good things.
