This was our favorite lodging on a 10-day trip to Iceland. Excellent location in a great town. Our room was spacious and incredibly clean and even had a harbor view. Hosts were very gracious. Parking was easy and convenient. Perfect starting point for your adventure on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

Loved everything about this place. Great location (steps from the harbor), clean comfortable room (with full bath) and great breakfast (also can buy a beer from them in the evening, which is a nice touch in a town without bars). Innkeeper is a great host.

This place is great! The location is perfect and the staff is very friendly. We arrived after the normal check in time, and she met us within minutes of us calling. We were worried about having nowhere to have a late dinner, but she provided several options (although the internet had they were closed). The room was very spacious, and the breakfast had a lot more options than we expected.

Akkeri Guesthouse is lovely. Kristin, the host, goes out of her way to make her guests feel comfortable. The breakfast was generous and tasty. She even provided gluten free options (we had asked her before arrival) and baked a cake in honor of the 3 years anniversary of her guesthouse. We loved staying there and we highly recommend it.

We spent two nights here in July on a quick tour of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula on our way back to the States from the UK (took advantage of Icelandair's free extended stopover). Absolutely charming place- the guest house used to be a restaurant but the owners converted it a few years ago. Room had a private bathroom and was very clean and quiet, excellent wifi coverage and included breakfast which had traditional Icelandic items (fish, crisp bread, fresh fruits and veggies, yogurt parfait among other standard items). Hosts were extremely friendly and gracious, glad to give advice on things to do or see depending on your itinerary. The best hidden gem was that the owner offered to take us out on his fishing boat for a quick 30 minute (round trip) ride to see puffins and other nesting birds on the nearby islands- whales are also possible on any given day although we didn't see any on that morning. Special cheers to Steini and Krisztina- thanks to both of you and we hope to be back one day!!

Great guesthouse in charming town. The whole house was renovated recently, and as such was very nice inside. The rooms all have a private bathroom, which is a great amenity. The breakfast spread in the morning is incredible, and even includes some Icelandic options! The host is very knowledgeable about the town and region, and will gladly provide maps and information about things to do and see. I highly recommend staying here!

Very good and very cosy stay. I’m particularly happy I chose Akkeri Guesthuse to stay overnight as it was such a great experience. Very clean, warm and cosy, located centrally near the harbour. Clean and very tasteful rooms. Each with it’s own bathrooms. The hosts were there to help, even with some unforeseen glitches in the alarm system. Breakfast next morning was a real treat, the lady of the house prepared us some Easter specialities, and there was also a wide selection of thing to choose from, including some excellent home made jam.
I’d surely recommend giving Akkeri Guesthouse a chance while travelling in Iceland.

In 7 nights we stayed at 6 different accommodations. Since they were each unique I can’t pick a favorite, but I must say this was the friendliest. I enjoyed speaking to the innkeeper about the wildlife, and the local lifestyle. I find these subjects fascinating. I am glad I spent a night in this town. I felt like I had the opportunity to see how Icelanders live. About our room. It was small, but spotless. The bathroom is small, but modern. The view was beautiful. We could see the harbor, and the quaint architecture of the town. We had a TV which we actually watched Eurovision on. We purchased breakfast which was good. The price was very good for the quality of accommodation. I highly recommend this Friendly guesthouse.
