Maybe we were luck as I have seen some reviews and we didn't have a bad experience. It is a nice look hotel, with nice views from everywhere, also a hotub to enjoy those views. Rooms were fine and bathroom too but it is true that the room could be more clean. It is an autochekin but if you have any problem, they have a physical telephone and two phone number where they answer almost at anytime.
The breakfast was normal.

Plan ahead. All the negative reviews seem to have stemmed from the fact that people aren't reading and following the instructions. We had zero problems checking in, eating breakfast, and checking out. Yes, it felt weird checking in with NO person in the entire building, but it worked just fine. And the room and beds and bathroom were all clean and in perfect working order. The remoteness of the hotel really added to our fun, btw. The breakfast in the morning was fine, too (not TOO extensive, but perfectly fine).

My husband and I had a great experience at this hotel! It was super clean. The staff were very diligent at cleaning. Make sure you read the instructions on how to get the key!

Honestly I can see some of the bad reviews, there no staff on hand and as we arrived a whole Group was waiting not understanding the process or what to do next and the Number didn’t answer when called for service... BUT I read the description and had my email and code ready and everything was as expected and the location is gorgeous located right next to a secret heated pool in a canyon not 20 minutes away. The rooms were much larger than expected and had 4 twin beds even tho the description was only for 2. Everything was clean and it was the perfect base camp to see the black sand beach, glacier lagoon and Vik and local waterfalls

DON'T BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK! The lodge is impressive - beautiful woodwork - massive wood beams as you would expect from a secluded place surrounded by snow, mountain and endless fields, the rooms are comfortable and clean and they have a hot tub - which, granted, hadn't been cleaned out, but let's face it, you've swam in dirtier lakes! The main gripe people have is that it doesn't have a reception and you find your key in a key box by your room, which you open with a code they email you. As long as you remember to get the code, you're fine! Moreover, after having stayed at a few cottages, this is the IS way - they leave the key out for you and frankly, if it makes the stay cheaper, by not having to cover 24 hrs shifts for not that much activity, why not?? Highly recommend it!

This place is magical! Room was clean and nice. Hot tub and breakfast included! What can be better after all day of hiking? I hope to come back again after I'll comeback from diamond beach!

Lovely hotel in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are clean and rustic. The hot tub is also a plus even if we didn't get to use it.

Very peaceful place near a hill, clean rooms, good breakfast. Although if the kp index is low, you cannot clearly see the northern lights because of the mountain since it covers the horizon.

Fantastic serene mistic place to stay. You would love it. Next to a majestic mountain. People don't know English. Breakfast is only at 8 am not a minute before.

Great place to come back to after exploring this beautiful country. Also, there's a old naturally fed swimming pool just down the street.
