Mitra Cafe

I visited this outlet three times in 2023, they never failed to satisfy our taste buds. Spacious, clean, quick service and great taste are the usp for them.

All the food item was delicious...the ambience was too good...staff behaviour was very well.ultimate time spending spot

All in very very good service persons are very coperative one manager specifically attended us and then comes the food we are awestruck with the quality of food very very tasty and best in the class.

Since, Fish Kabiraji has been one of the 'must try' dishes of Mitra cafe, we ordered a fish diamond kabiraji and a fish kabiraji along with egg chow, chicken hot & sour soup, fish fry and a chicken cutlet.

All of the items were good in taste. The service was good too. The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful. All of the foods were served on time.
But what I feel is fish fry is better than fish kabiraji here.
Overall my experience was very good.

Awsum taste I love the kabiraji fishfry made by authentic bhatki fish.. must try the diamond fishfry.. fishkabiraji fry and chicken reshmi kebab.. the chicken were so tender and juicy with full of malai

Had diamond fish Fry here. Price a bit high. But the fry was tasty & freshly prepared.

Best place ever. They serve authentic Bengali style food. Main attractions are fish items. If you are planning a visit, definitely try the fish items.
Fish Kabiraji, batter fry and Fish fry are must try. Price is very reasonable. Overall good place for fish lovers.
Now the reason I am giving low rating is :
They are running low on all items all the time.
Most of the items that are famous, mostly not available. Simple soft drinks like coca cola etc are not there.
They will push you to order chicken items which are not great.
Service is PATHETIC.

Edit (09/92/2021) : After visiting this week I'm changing my rating. Service was good. They had all the items listed in the menu card. Quality was as usual very good.

Fish Kabiraji is a signature dish here and it stood on top. The mutton damodar thali was a disappointment, motton kosha was not as good as we expected and didn't like the combo of supto aside motton. In thali there is no roti or paratha.

The journey of Mitra Cafe started in the year 1910 from outlet of Shobhabazar which was famous as cabin . Now they have many outlets. The must try dishes are Brain Chop, Gondhoraj lime chicken pakoras, Fish kabiraji, Diamond fish fry. You can try the kabab platter also.

Very good Ambience,Staff's behaviour is also good even in Durga Pujo occasion.
Next came to food. Each and every items we ordered was equally tasty and delicious. Must Try Kobiraji.
Paneer and masala Kulcha both were awesome.. full of stuffing
Price is also okay but quantity is not enough for 2 ppl for rice items

Excellent place. AC accommodation. Must try for Bengali Food. Really vintage Bengali Traditional Taste. Must try is the Fish Kabiraji and the Mutton Kosha.

Good Location. ( But no parking facilities. For two wheelers, no need to worry. But if you bring a car, it might take few minutes to park at na adjacent alley/ road)

Recently, they have also started a Continental Menu. So, those who are interested to try something new, may try here those too. ( And Few Chinese Recipes also present )

I tried Chicken kabiraji, mutton kabiraji, mutton handi fried rice recipe from here. There foods are very much yammi. If you nearby Kolkata airport area you can definitely try it

Top quality food. But quantity is very less in Chinese items and Indian dish. Sitting arrangement is little bit awkward at pick hours. Overall experience is good. Staff behaviour is polite. Washroom need to be clean properly.

Superb taste of every item. Open spacious seating arrangements .the food is served in white china plate with cutlery making the place authentically old school adding to its charm. Coming to its food ,mitra cafe has its own legacy. Worth mentioning items(few)- mutton chop, prawn cutlet , mutton moghlai & whole tandoori bhetki.

The heritage food court of Bengal, Mitra Cafe, always does justice to every dish served. Right from the well behaved staff, timely serving and delicious taste, they never fail to amaze. Feeling of being a bong with love for fishes turn notches high everytime I visit here. Do not expect Uber amazing ambience, it would feel a lot like having food at some typical Bengali wedding reception party. But you won't be disappointed!

Tried the thalis , diamond fish fry and chicken cutlet. The food was top quality and taste was delicious. The service was a bit slow but no complaints.

The quality of food as well as the behaviour of the staffs was really good. I had a fish diamond kabiraji, fish diamond fry, drums of heaven, butter naan, paneer butter masala, mixed fried rice, prawn hot and sour, and handi mutton.

The all time favourite joint for Bengali fish lovers. Their fish fry tastes out of the world. This time we tried Chicken China Town and that too was mouth watering. The dry gravy was lip smacking. Perfect for snacking and more.

This was my first time at Birati Mitra Cafe. And, I won't oversay or anything, but every freakin thing about this place is fabbbbb. It has quite a spacious restaurant, with both dine in and takeaway. Mitra Cafe is quite famous for its fish fried items and amongst that also, there is a lot of options. So, this time I ordered a fish diamond fry and a fish orley. Also, they are currently having their summer spl. AAM PORA SHERBAT. And, absolutely satisfied. Also, another thing to mention. The Staff Behaviour. The staff are really good, and also help you to choose if you are kinda confused seeing so many, like really SO MANY options of fries. They only suggested us the sherbat. All in all it was a brilliant experience going to Mitra Cafe Birati, and am looking forward to my next visit there.
