Hajar Hath Kali Mandir

Hazar Hath Kali Temple is located in Shivpur, Howrah. A seat of power worship in history. Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay is the head of this temple. It is known that he saw the form of this statue while dreaming. According to legend, this Kalimandir was started in 1880. The temple is still served by the family of Tantric Ashutosh Mukherjee.

According to the Chandi Purana, this Chandi form is one of the many forms Goddess Durga assumed while killing Mahishasura. And in this century-old temple, the mother is worshiped as Chandirup. This temple is very popular among the locals.

Not only Howrah or Kolkata but also many people from outside states come to this temple to fulfil their wishes. It is known that someone from South India came to this temple. He was blind when he came to the temple. Coming to this temple, he prayed to his mother to regain his sight. Then the man regained his sight. He promoted this temple of Mother in South India and like Howrah and Kolkata this temple of Olabibitla is very popular in South India as well.
