Consulate General of Japan, Kolkata

I recently got my business visa for Japan from here. The process is smooth and took me less than a week overall. Please note you need to send an email to the mail id mentioned in their website. They will ask for your relevant information over mail and only upon verification they will assign you a slot for physical document submission. They are very prompt with their email replies and the entire online verification, including some corrections was completed in less than 48 hours! On the day of the document submission, you have to be on time at the consulate office where they will take the documents and your passport from you and will ask you to come back in 2-3 days for passport collection.
The entire process was extremely hassle free and the two visits I had to make here (one for document submission and other for passport collection) each lasted less than 20-25 minutes at the most.

Just too good behavior and the visa process is too much smoother than other countries. Today I got my visa for tourism ! I had an interview today at 2:30pm after having 10 minutes of interview with a Japanese counsular officer . And my visa is approved date 12.02.2020 thanks .. others like security behavior is also good ! Every should apply from this Kolkata embassy for their Japan trip

Submission time is only from 9AM to 12:30PM

The Consulate is as helpful and beautiful as the country itself. They don’t charge anything till the visa is granted. The visa application process is also very simple and easy. Amazingly helpful staffs.

Very quick. Staff is well mannered. Unless there is no crowd and if you have all the documents , you will be done in two minutes.

Beautiful place. Don't think you'll get a greeting from a white fluffy cat in any other Consulate in the city. :)

It's near Tollygunge metro station. There is also a bus terminus where you can get AC bus directly to Airport.
