Sri Sri Patita paboni Durga Temple

Very Peaceful place but i felt very bad after seeing the dilapidated condition of the overall structure.....We need to conserve our culture

A temple dedicated to Patit-Paboni (manifestation of Goddess Durga) and built in the year 1782 is situated inside the inner courtyard. It is believed that Sadhak Ramprasad visited this temple and it is he who gave the name Bhukailash or Abode of the Gods on Earth.

ভূকৈলাস রাজবাড়ি কলকাতার খিদিরপুর অঞ্চলে অবস্থিত। রাজা জয়নারায়ণ ঘোষাল ১৭৮১ সালে এই রাজবাড়ি তৈরি করেন।

রাজা জয়নারায়ণ ঘোষালের জমিদারি ছিল অধুনা ফোর্ট উইলিয়াম অঞ্চলে। কেল্লা তৈরির সময় উনি খিদিরপুরে জমি পান। সেখানে জঙ্গল কেটে বসতি বানান ঘোষালরা। ১০৮ বিঘার জমিতে বসতবাড়ি ছাড়াও গড়ে তোলা হয় শিব ও কুলদেবী ৺পাতিতপাবনী দুর্গার মন্দির। সেই সময় থেকেই গোটা সম্পত্তি কুলদেবী পতিতপাবনীর নামে দেবোত্তর করে দেওয়া হয়।

১৮৭২ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত ঘোষালবংশের কুলদেবী পতিতপাবনীর মন্দির (Maa Patitpabani Durga)। জয়নারায়ণ দিল্লির বাদশা মহম্মদ জাহান্দার শাহের কাছ থেকে 'মহারাজা বাহাদুর' খেতাব ও মনসবদারি পান, মন্দির চত্বরে উপস্থিত দুটি কামান সম্ভবত সেটার সাক্ষী।
