Nice Hotel for stay. You can feel like home stay. Price is very less compared to others and hotel staffs are very humble and polite. I stay in this hotel many times. Main focus and facilities are allowing pet. I have a Golden Labrador when I planned for booking hotel maximum hotels denied but this hotel allow me without any terms and conditions. These people are also love to my pet as he visited many times here. I love to visit again and again here. Please visit once then you got to know rather than this post. This my opinion. Once a time I reached to this hotel late night from Bangalore I asked them please arrange some dinner for our families then they agree and asked us what are items you require we explained him properly when we reached he delivered the dinner immediately with hot condition. Thanks to these people. These are my experiences from this hotel.

Had a good service and a pleasant stay. The staff was too friendly, co-operative and compensative. very safe for the family.
If you are looking for a budgeted and safe place to stay in pondicherry I would recommend "The Base in".

We stayed in this location for 2 days and the homestay is good for staying family and the parking is good and staff too, The management is good too, The watchman Khadarsab is very friendly and good Sandeep who brought the things and guide us the room, overall good experience. The location of the base inn is in middle so here localities and so much traffic.

It was indeed a great experience to stay here. The location was such a vibe there. All the beaches, cafes, temple are easily accessible. The hotel staff were really awesome and helpful, they also provide us scooty that too they charged minimal amount as compared to book any other rental bikes there.
Best part was security guard (kadar/kedar) who were always there to help or take care. And will be always there to greet you in welcoming way and asked about our day, if we've eaten or not. : )

So in my opinion you MUST STAY there if you want great experience in a budget.

One of the best places to stay in Pondicherry, an amazing place, very friendly staff and an amazing Watchman ( Khadar Bhai )
There watchman was the one who spoke to us very friendly and greeted us nicely.
The Hotel must look after the watchman as it was because of him me and my family came to base inn
Over all an amazing experience the AC, food, beds, washrooms and all were clean and proper

The hotel is one of the best places to stay. The staffs were friendly and supportive. Janagan from the housekeeping was always helpful. The rooms are clean and hygienic

The place is really great and the customer service is also really good. Its very hygienic and the staffs are really friendly and helpful. The compliment breakfast they are providing is really good. And they are providing rental bike service also in a cheap rate. The place is at the centre of auroville and pondicherry town. Overall for this place is a great choice for people to stay in pondicherry for thei vacation.

We stayed at The Base Inn Guest House for 3 days and it was a very pleasant stay at this heritage property. Rooms have AC and are clean. Good starter south Indian breakfast menu. The ambience and furniture takes one to a different era. Remember that you are there to spend time with family and chill so you won't miss the TV. Network will be bit of a challenge in the rooms given the walls are thick and were built in a different era! Wifi and network available in common areas.. Overall a pleasant stay with family at The Base Inn Guest House will be our choice on our next trip! Thanks for The Base Inn and team!!!!!

This is a terrific place to stay, and I can't say enough good things about it. The room was exceptionally clean, and it was in a really quiet and peaceful setting. We'd like to point out that every aspect and corner of the interiors and exteriors were created with great care and attention to detail. The proprietors are pleasant people with a welcoming approach. The breakfast, which was obtained directly, was amazing. This isn't the first time we've stayed here, and it won't be the last!....

We stayed here for a day. The cleanliness compared to many of the hotels anywhere else is very much better. We should appreciate the value for money mindset of the staff and management here.
