Swades Guest House

I stayed for one week at Swades Guest House. The accommodation was very very beautiful with it's colourful rooftop terrace. Also the location was perfect. In only 5-10 minutes I could reach many restaurants and beautiful spots in the city by walking.

Last but not least I have to mention that the owner, Mujib was very nice and provided top service together with the staff.

For all people staying in Pondicherry as tourists, I strongly recommend Swades Guest House!

Really nice and homely place to stay! The caretaker was very accommodating. Well located, and everything is nearby. They also rent out scooters for really cheap prices! The AC rooms are amazing. Book in advance as they only have a few rooms to offer.

Very Nice place to be in. We were given a complete floor to stay. Rents are ok, on the costlier side. But stay wise, it was very nice. Recommendable to most persons. I would rather also mention that ask them for bedding before hand, as they will give you fresh sheets for sleeping purposes. I believe that you would like your stay here. We didn't sleep here cause they had no rooms left but the owner was really really, really nice with us: he called his friends who own guest houses to help us find a room and finally found a flat just nearby.
He was so kind he offered to help us prepare our journey in South India.

A place to go if you stay a while in Pondicherry !

Had a brilliant stay at Swades! (so called for the film? I'm yet to see but definitely will given the brilliant experience). Mujib made me feel extremely welcomed, gave a much-needed rundown of landmarks, restaurants and even tailored it to my interests. Throughout the stay we were regularly checked in on to make sure everything was perfect. If ever I'm back in Pondy, this will undoubtably be my #1 pick for accommodation!

I stayed here for 5 days & found it very comfortable & relaxing. The rooms were clean & spacious, with hot running water & some rooms have AC for a bit extra. You can have also have an Indian or continental breakfast at a small extra cost, which was very nice. The owner was also very helpful & was able to answer any questions about the local area.

Very beautiful guest house with wooden carvings. Owner is extremely accommodative of guests and even reduced the price of AC rooms by a considerable amount for us. Also allowed us to rent his scooty for a reasonable price.
Recommended for a nice stay at affordable prices in an easy to access location.

I strongly recommend people to choose this place for stay if you are visiting Pondicherry. Very decent place for families. Mujib bhai is very kind and helpful. Every place is near to this location like shopping, hotels etc. And interesting part is after dinner you can go for walk to rock beach it's very near.

Very nice accommodation. About 1500 rupees for a ensuite double bed room so a bit pricey for a budget back packer but the people working here are very friendly and the breakfast is really good but also costs 200 rupees extra. In a very nice area also but a bit hard to find.

Very good ratio price quality. Lovely terrasse to relax on the rooftop while chatting with other travellers. Mujib provides very good advice to visit Puduchery and to plan next destination.

this place has confy and cosy rooms. the gueshouse's manager is extremely helpful and gives a lot of good insights to explore the city and descover good food. very good recommandations regarding ayurvedic massages.

i really enjoyed the stay.. its a guest house and owners are very pleasing and take care of your needs.. we did early checkin and they are happy to accommodate us.. the helper was also very helpful... the place is beautiful.. its cozy but is very beautiful.. i recommend it..

It is safe residential area. Very near to white town, main beach. Mujib is so friendly and supportive.

I stayed 3 months in swades, so it's like my second home now. First the house is beautiful and we've got all we need, 2 terraces where it's nice to chill, a common kitchen (fridge/microwave/toaster), cute rooms with private bathroom, hot water, towel etc... Then, the localisation is perfect ! But the best, and the reason why we want to come back after staying there, is the warm welcoming of Mujib and Fatima. A kind family, always happy to help or advice you. Facilities also (taxi tour and booking for example). Definitely the best guesthouse of Pondicherry!

J'ai passé 3 mois à swades donc c'est un peu ma deuxième maison à présent. Tout d'abord swades est une jolie demeure qui a tout ce dont on a besoin, deux terraces où flâner, une cuisine commune (avec frigo/micro onde/grille pain), des chambres charmantes avec salle de bain privative, eau chaude, serviette, papier WC etc... et puis la localisation est parfaite ! Mais le mieux, et la raison pour laquelle on veut revenir après avoir séjourner ici, c'est l'accueil chaleureux de Mujib et Fatima. Une famille adorable, toujours prête à vous aider ou vous conseiller. Nombreux services (réservations et excursions en taxi par exemple). Une authentique guest house, et sans aucun doute le meilleur endroit pour séjourner à Pondicherry!

Super adresse! Ilyas est très accueillant. Cadre propice aux rencontres entre voyageurs (deux terrasses communes). Wali qui s'occupe des chambres, du petit dèj (à l'occidental),... est super efficace, très gentille et met sa touche indienne dans la guest house. C'est bien situé (dans le quartier musulman) proche de la mer (quartier blanc) et des rues les plus importantes de Pondy (Ghandi street, Mission street). Attention adresse où on peut vite avoir envie de rester ;)
