It's one of the iconic Veg Hotel available in the prime location of Pondicherry. Its a pure Veg hotel. There are 15+ varieties of Dose, 5+ varieties of Idli, vada and many more south Indian dishes. There coffee is the best. Speciality of this place is that all dishes are served on banana leaves. Every item is served with coconut chutney, tomato chutney and sambar.

Busy eatery with delicious food. Had the rava dosa which was crisp and brilliant. The sambar is thick and well made too. Will definitely return to sample more

Loved their Ghee Roast Cashew Uttappam with Vada curry.
The soft, fluffy, ghee roasted uttappam bursts with flavor, while the roasted cashews add a delightful texture.
The chutneys on the side are also very tasty.

It's definitely worth the hype. Their ghee cashew uttapam felt like heaven. We had masala dosa, uttapam, Pongal, and filter coffee. Everything was brilliant. Also, the serving of food on banana leaves takes the experience to a whole new level.

This place serves the most authentic idli and sambhar in the traditional way on banana leaves. The service is speedy and the taste is also good. No fancy ambience but the taste is marvellous. We went for early morning breakfast at 7 and they were ready to serve.
The prices are so reasonable. This is another pure veg restaurant in Pondicherry which serves one of the best south indian food.
You won’t have to wait long for food.

Quality of taste. Fame for it. Actually they were under a shelter of asbestos sheet in the earlier days. There was a large hotels nearby, even in that time also no place we can get to sit and eat. All because of the quality, no compromise in taste, good service at nominal price( compared with high end hotels). During peak hours we don't get place to sit.

A place frequented by locals. The cashew uthappam we had was nothing I had ever tasted. The server was kind enough to suggest some good menu items, as well as provided us with a toddler-chair.

Best Uttapam can be found here...Go for Cashew Uttapam it's cost Rs 150 but it's worth the price the Sambar and Chutney are unlimited the Uttapam is made of Ghee and Cashews in Every Bite you will get a Cashew. You can also try thier Goti Sodas

Sri murugan cafe is well known for its authenticity of south indian cuisine. It is a great place for breakfast. Huge variety available. It is a busy place and suggest to plan 30 min extra for all the waiting if you are going in peak time. It is also in market area so parking would be difficult and can park your four wheelers in adjacent Streets wherever space is available. Two wheeler parking is available below the restaurant itself. kaju ghee uthappam is a must try dish. Service was very good and polite. Dishes were served hot and quick even when there was considerable amount of crowd. So an extraordinary place for food especially breakfast if you are looking for authentic south indian food. Small onion dosa which is also a must try was told that it is available only in the evening. so one can plan for that accordingly. Famous KBS cafe is also nearby this place( adjacent street) in case you want to visit that also.

If you wanna eat vegetarian food later after your full on shopping, then this is the place you should go. Food is amazing, neat and the staffs are very friendly. As I'm a frequent here, I get next level welcome always. This will forever be my favourite place for food 🤤❤ plus the price is very reasonable. I always spend just around 300 for four persons 😎

Food: Absolute 5 stars. The food was extraordinary. We had ordered a cashew uttappam, ghee podi uttappam, sambar vada, coffee and a blueberry goli soda. The cashew uttappam was scrumptious. As soon as you bite into it, you get the taste of ghee and you also get bits of cashews in your mouth. The feeling is very unique.
Overall, one of the best places to hang out in Puducherry ( Pondicherry ) and would highly recommend when you are in Puducherry.

Best place for breakfast. I’ve been 3 days in Pondicherry and this is the best place for breakfast. Affordable prices and excellent taste.

Great place to try South Indian veg breakfast options, would definitely recommend trying vada curry here it’s tasty and goes well with all the food. They do have veg omelette, I haven’t tried them but please do try this place if you are in Pondi and want to experience South Indian food.

This place is a must visit if you want to taste Tamil South Indian food. I had the Idli Wada, Ghee roast Dosa, Kaju Utappam. All are recommended. The taste was amazing. The place is clean and good to sit.

Amazing place for South Indian food and cuisine
They are incredibly authentic and even serve their food in banana leafs.
They serve Dosa with chutney. The chutney is soft and creamy. It engulfs your mouth with deliciousness as it’s crafted with delicacy.
Finally, the show stopper was the cashew nut uttapam. It tasted divine and heavenly. Smothered with rich ghee and cooked to perfect crispness. It was heavenly and god like.
Top off this buttery and crispy uttapam with a chill yet sour blueberry goli soda.
Overall, many vegetarian options available and incredibly delicious.

Murugan cafe situated in Heritage Town of Pondicherry is famous for its fluffy "mundri uttapam" which is Cashew Uttapam fried in pure ghee accompanied by Vada Curry. I tried this dish for breakfast the first day and it blew me away, the taste was soo good. The are other items on offer which are standard south Indian tiffin fare..They also serve a poori with aloo subzi which is non spicy but oh so tasty.. Highly recommended

Kaju Uttapa must try.... Coffee also very Good... I have given 5 star because of cleanliness and Fast service and tasty delicious food. They have 2 wheeler parking also.
