I am an alumni of this school. This school is one of the finest Govt school in West Bengal. More than 90 years old school but still has very good faculty, class room. The alumni are renowned in every other field in the country and abroad. Proper education with minimum fees. The motto is Binay, Satata, Shrom which translates to Humble, Honesty, Hard Work.

It was established on 03/01/1927. It is a boys and English and Bengali medium school. It is purely Government administered school. It is affiliated by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. It's performance is highly appreciated. The school has produced many well known academics, film and theatre personalities, journalist and musician. School magazine "Baagbitan" is published every year. An annual three-day arts fair is held at the time of Saraswati Puja. The students contribute crafts, drawings, scientific experiments and sketches. Annual sports is held every year. Independence day is celebrated with a ceremony every year. Very few notable alumni are mentioned below. Gautam Bhattacharya, Nabarun Bhattacharya, R. D. This was my school from Aug 1963 to May 1967 !!! Then I shifted to Bombay (Mumbai) in 1967. My fundamentals in maths and some science developed here. We were taught in Bengali medium which was a drawback in Bombay school. I still remember the school subsidized Tiffin in brown square boxes. I can still "smell" and "taste" the sweets, samosas etc inside these boxes. Sometimes, when we were careless, Kite birds use to swoop down and snatch away with somebody's tiffin. I once got scratched by the talons. I also remember the polished wooden tables and benches in the Class
During my time, the Cricket team of the school was very good

This place seems to be quite peaceful. No traffic and pollution found here. Beautiful locality with small temples near roadside is seen here. Durga Puja is famous for its pandals and lighting. Overall nice place to visit once.
