American Library

American Library is one of the finest & most well-organized libraries in India. From excellent security protocols, to calm atmosphere inside the reading room, to the amazing collection of books 📚 across a vast pool of genres, this library has got everything. Here you can also access the computer for study purpose. High speed WiFi is also available. The membership fee is quite nominal, when compared to the exceptional services that this library provides. A small cafeteria is available on the ground floor and also on the top floor. Highly recommended for book lovers, students, researchers & scholars.☺

I love the library. I went there in 2017. It's so organised. It's one of the biggest libraries after the National library in Kolkata. And one more thing if you go in a one particular day in a week you can enjoy an American Hollywood movie with free popcorn 🍿 their in the cinema hall inside of the American Library. So everyone should visit this place once a month there. At least. I will visit them again soon.

I was there for Jefferson Junior Debates. I thoroughly enjoyed it and satisfied with their hospitality. The library is one of the best in Town. They also have a nice collection of classical hollywood movies. But yes be ready go through a very tough security check before entering

High security is the only glitch which you will be habitually used to after 2-3 visits. A cafeteria is available to have quick bites. The Library is in the 2nd floor, USIEF is in 3rd floor.

Very nice place, especially for the students. They welcome people with open arms but have very very strict security norms, it's a very high security zone.

Amazing Place for introverts

Those who want to develop themselves in solitude.

The environment is superb for self study and learning.

The cafeteria and the canteen facilities are there with reasonable pricing. The egg thali costs around 50rs. And almost everything in canteen and cafeteria you can get it under 90rs.

This place is a high security zone and only you can get to Library through elevator, staircase is there but not allowed for members of library.

A security personnel is there every time in the elevator during the library hours.

The membership costs 400 RS per year with internet facilities and 4 books one can issue with that.

Remember, if you're going for admission to the Library carry the exact amount of 400 RS (membership fee for 1 year) in cash (only available) between the library hours (10am to 5:30pm) Monday to Friday. As most of the time they don't have change.

I loved this place .If you haven't any privet car you reached at the Maidan Metro Station Kolkata and it's 2 minutes from the station.Its besides the metro plaza and the Ispat Bhavan .
This place is an embassy of America and It's a Center where everyone can known about the American Culture.Its too good .
Due to this reason American Center Kolkata had a library where anyone can make their membership to give 400 rupees for 1 year as individuals and 700 rupees for 2 year as individuals .
I'm too glad to make a member of this American Center .

I attended a seminar at this place to learn Self Defense.

American Center is run by U.S.Govt.
This is the official Center for learning foreign language like American English and American accents. The American library is situated here on 2nd floor of the building. The Lincoln room is on the first floor of the building where various types of events are conducted. American cinema is being shown here on every Saturday. You cannot enter here with laptop, tab, camera which is other than mobile camera. American Library is situated at 2nd floor of American Centre Kolkata. The place is really worth to visit.

The American Centre is an amazing and calm place. The security is top notch. I especially loved the tight security. The security staff inside was very polite.

The EducationUSA centre on floor 3 is amazing! The advisers are well informed and knowledgeable. They are very friendly! I loved interacting with them. The library has many helpful and informational books. I gained a lot of knowledge on my visit.

Full of activities throughout the weeks. The ambience is very good in terms of learning. The library has many kinds of books especially for those who are planning to go to US. Very good experience overall.

But uts because of their rules and safety dot worry they just taking care for the place

After corona, loved to visit my library i am attached with 50 years. But book racks 30%empty. I wonder if books were covid attacked. Good magazines are vanished. What else for Sr Ctzs? Dhurjati Ray

This is the consulate of the foreign ministry of the USA in Kolkata. You have to come here for anything regarding the ministry of foreign affairs of USA. Besides, there is a large-scaled library with polished auditorium where numerous movie shows and lecture programs are to be scheduled. You can also be a member of the library or can easily attend those programs or movie shows even if you are not a member.
The security system is very active and tight here that is always good for every individual and for the mass.

One of the important place in Kolkata. Part of US consulate of Kolkata. One can find a good library here. Apart from that it's the right place from those who are willing to go US for study. Lot of seminars and programmes are being held each week. Cordial gesture of staffs but security is very tight as per requirement.
