A great place for sweet dishes. I had the lemon tart and the almond pastry and both were worth trying. It was very fresh and flavourful.

Ome of the old bakeries,,,i absolutely love the taste of the its products,,, especially the black forest,,,it is really the hallmark of the bakery including the plum cake,,,,also, everything is available at a very reasonable price ❤

Nahoum's! I've heard so much about this place, there was so much room for me to be let down because I walked in with sky high expectations and I'm so pleased to say that all of my expectations were met! The lemon puff is a MUST HAVE! I loved the chewy sweet texture of the jam tart, and the chocolate eclair was good too! Got a bunch of plum cakes packed as well, what a stunning place with a stunning vibe!

I love bakeries, so when I read about Nahoum’s in the New Market area in Kolkata, I knew I had to visit. I’m so glad I did! It is inside the market, but every single seller I asked knew where it was, so I was able to get there easily.

It is very popular, with lots of customers being served quickly. The selection is vast and everything looked delicious! Since it is a Jewish bakery, I didn’t know what goods to expect. I asked if there were bagels, and the owner said no as if he has answered the question many times before. 😊 We bought two cream-filled croissants, two chocolate pastries, and some almond cookies and all were all delicious! Lots of other things were very tempting, so it was hard to choose.

In addition to having tasty baked goods, this was a fascinating cultural experience. Highly recommended!

Recommended for Christmas cake-buying spree. Most reasonably priced cakes in the city given so much ingredients being put in these cakes - go for Rich fruit, Special fruit and my favourite - Plum cake, the latter being less sweet and very light, making it perfect to have with tea/coffee. A little color and light would have sparked that Christmas-y feeling onto their 120+ years old dark wooden facade.This place deserves so much more for their century-old trust, passion, accountability and love for honest cake-making.

The special Christmas cakes were good & soft. They also have a wide range of sweet & savoury stuff, all fresh & tasty. Tried the cup cake, it was really nice & different, had a nice soft inner texture & had a jam filling as well.

The best cake shop in Kolkata. One of the oldest cake shop. We have tried Rich Fruit cake , Heart Cake, Chocolate Pastry, Browney and from the confectionery the Chicken parties. Each and every item was soo good.. Just nothing to say ❤❤

I visited Nahoums 3 years later and my view remains the same. Nothing can beat the taste of their products... All the items are superlative in flavour, taste, quality, freshness ... I just love this place. The behaviour of the personnel in the establishment is excellent. No irritation, no loss of attention n full of advice. I will give it a rating of 10 out of 5.

This is the place I used to visit since my childhood. Now I go there with my daughter.

Nahoum is simply amazing for cakes as well as snacks. They had wide range of variety over cakes and the awesomeness of taste will make you addicted to visit there again and again.

Lemon Puff and Rich Fruit Cake are highly recommended and they were just wow in taste.

Delicious plum cake. Very well managed with smiling face from the stuff. If you want to purchase on Christmas week please be prepared to settle on a queue. It took me almost half an hour on 30th December evening.

This is the oldest Jewish bakery in Kolkata, started all the way back in 1902. As soon as you enter the store, the bakery aroma and ambience will take you back to olden times!

I tried their signature plum cake. It was really good. Dense texture with rum-soaked dry fruits made a perfect balance!

I bought a plain butter cake. Price was reasonable. The cake was tasty and very soft inside. It reminds me of my Didun's (grandmother) cake.

Now what can we say about this legendary outlet....Full of tradition and grandeur that too at a pocket friendly price. Often packed with customers this place is a heritage itself and offers quite a Rick collection of the baked delicacies. The must try here would be the fresh plum cake, Muffins and their pastries and their Rum balls. For a foodie, Christmas shouldn't be without Nahoum's.
