Superb experience at new light house in Pondy. It takes 10 mins to climb the stairs till top. The view is fabulous and mesmerising. There is an entrance fee for 10 INR. Not recommended for pregnant women’s, physically challenged, physically weak, as the steps are quite strenuous. But after climbing upstairs you feel wow.

It's a working light house situated on pondy marina beach .they charge 10 rupees for entry.we have ti keep liquid money.we can stay for 10 minutes. It's working everyday except Monday from 2 pm to 5 pm . The view from the top is worth watching. And the wind was so good .It will be a great experience In our life .j liked it. There are so many steps to climb so try it if you want to explore.

New Light House is located on Pondy Marina beach. It provides 360 view from top. Timing for Light House is 9am to 5pm- Monday to Sunday.
Now this is the main light house of Pondicherry as old light house is converted to museum on Promenade beach. Near the light house there is a plaza for fun activities and food.

It was such a good experience in climbing those 250 steps. You can get a awesome view from the top. Almost entire city. Many buildings and the long sea shore view was absolutely divine. The visiting hours is 3pm to 5pm. Make sure to bring some changes to buy entry tickets. I think it costs only rupees 10 for a person. But it was a huge amount of happiness to see the city from there. And last make sure to bring some water with you.

Best place in pondi! You can see the entire town view n ocean view. Very less ticket to climb up the light house, visit timings are between 3pm to 5pm. This place is very beautiful n clam. You can spend time watching the ocean n relaxing Breezes! Note that there is no lift and you have to take stairs only

Went there in last week of February. Weather was just getting hot. Since it was peak season and visiting hours between 2pm to 5pm, it was crowded. But it is worth the climb. Despite the crowd you can spend 10 - 15 min just enjoying the view and wind. Entry fees is 10Rs. Can be on your list if in pondicherry for a day or 2.

Amazing place, with a beautiful scenic view of the city of Pondicherry. The Hexagonal shaped light house replaces the old light house in 1971. The interiors give a beautiful and resonating feel as the Staircase draws you upwards to the deck. A nice place to visit in the evenings but be aware the place closes at 5pm.

Scenic view of Pondy Marina Beach and Pondicherry town can be seen from the top. There is no lift to go upstairs. One has to climb many steps to reach the top. Only 10 minutes are allotted for every visitor at the top.

First things first:
1. There are no lifts to reach to the top. Climbing the stairs till the top is a tiring job.
2. It closes exactly at 5pm so better reach the place at least by 4:30pm.
3. The route shown by maps sometimes feel like its going nowhere but please trust google.

Now about the lighthouse, although the climb to the top is tiring but it rewards you such a mesmerizing view after reaching the top. Its worth the effort. The entry fees is 10rs per head. You can see almost the entire city of Pondy on one side and on the other side its the endless sea. Definitely worth the visit.
