Nestled in the heart of Kolkata, this two-floor Bengali restaurant is a true gem, where every aspect of our dining experience was carefully curated to perfection. From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in a warm embrace of hospitality, with the staff (Specially mentioned Mr. Debanjan Sen) going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction.

As we explored the menu, we were thrilled to find a wide array of authentic Bengali dishes, each one promising a journey through the rich culinary heritage of the region. Our selections, including the iconic fish fry, the comforting machher matha diye dal, the crispy jhuri jhuri aloo vaja, the flavorful pomfret jhal, and the tender kochi pathar mangso, were a testament to the kitchen's dedication to quality and authenticity. Accompanied by fragrant basmati rice, every dish was a symphony of flavors that left us craving for more.

The ambiance of the restaurant transported us to a bygone era, with nostalgic melodies of Bengali film legends adding to the charm of the surroundings. And as a thoughtful gesture, the staff captured our memorable evening in a photograph, a cherished memento of our time spent savoring the best of Bengali cuisine.

In conclusion, our visit to this establishment was nothing short of magical, a culinary journey that left a lasting impression on our senses. Whether you're a local or a visitor to Kolkata, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Bengal.

It is a Bengali restaurant, based on the old famous Bengali movie Saptapadi starring Suchitra Sen & Uttam Kumar.
The restaurant is spread across two floors. The al carte menu is served on the ground floor & the buffet is served on the 1st floor.
We tried their special Bengali buffet the ambience & decor is good & quite brighter with nostalgic melodies of Bengali film legends adding to the charm of the surroundings.
Refreshing Lichu Lonkar Sorbat and Kacha Aam er Sorbat was top-notch. Bhetki fish fry, Postor Bora ,Basonti Pulao- Mutton, Luchi-Mutton, Prawns,Chicken, Sukto along with Rasgulla Sandesh are a must try.
Overall satisfying food quality, great ambiance and service.

Negative point-The access to the 1st floor is a narrow iron stair with steep stairs. Veg items are not able to satisfy taste buds.

Themed restaurant, based on the old famous Bengali movie Saptapadi. A variety of Bengali cuisine is available (both veg and non-veg).
Staff behaviour is also good. It's not a huge restaurant but not too small and congested either.
The food was really good and tasty. Non-veg items were not very oily or spicy. The price was ok compared to the quality and quantity.

Good place for authentic bengali cuisine. For authentic Bengali food you must go there . I tried "Durga Puja Special Buffet" for the very first time at Saptapadi. It is located at CD-22, sector-1 , Saltlake.

The first thing to remember in this restaurant is that it is spread across two floors. The al carte menu is served on the ground floor & the buffet is served on the 1st floor which also acts as a banquet hall for parties.

The access to the 1st floor is through a narrow iron stair with steep stairs. It is very difficult for the elderly or people with mobility issues to climb the stairs.

We had tried their special Bengali buffet, hence we had to navigate the stairs. If we overlook the stairs, then the ambience & decor is good & quite bright.

Coming lastly to the food, the food was authentic Bengali dishes with rich taste. Though we were the only customers having buffet that night the food was not hot but they refilled once it was brought to their notice. The food was tasty & the menu well curated, though the welcome drink having chilly was a bit of a letdown for us. Other than that all the other preparations were yummy.

The pocket pinch is a little on the higher side.

We visited here for our friends Aiburobhat ceremony. They served us very good quality food in a-la-carte and Thali. The staff behaviour was very polite and courteous. They also took a photograph of all of us and gifted that printed copy on behalf of the restaurant. Recommended for authentication Bengali dining.

One of its kind Bengali Fine Dine and Buffet restaurant serving all day (12 Noon to 11 pm). Its emerging as one of the prominent name of the Bengali Hospitality industry. It's been last 12 years in F&B and serves few best Bengali dishes without much dent in your pocket.
Their all day Bengali Buffet is the best attraction now, its not only provides maximum number of items but each one of its dishes is highly backed by tests.

Went as a family of 5 people. All ordered the special Amish thali. Service was quick. We had kancha aamer sharbat and lichu lonka sharbat for drinks. I would recommend the lichu lonka shorbet to those who like their drinks a little spicy. The special Amish thali consists of rice/polao, khowa kancha lonkar kachori, ghonto/alu dom, chana masala, chingri maach, chicken/mutton (2 pieces), dal, papad, payash and chutney for dessert. The mutton was very tasty and nicely cooked followed by the chicken and rice and polao. The kachori was also good and the menu items were also repeatable. The restaurant can seem to be a little crowded if most of the seats are occupied. The waiter service was good but could have been better.
The restaurant also has the option for a buffet system. And for reference, price of special Amish thali is 699/- plus taxes and buffet is 999/- plus taxes. Overall the ambience, service, food and experience was good and enjoyable.

On a weekend afternoon, if there’s waiting outside a Bengali restaurant in Kolkata, that means something.
Their food exceeded my expectations. The service and management is doing a great job although the kitchen area can use a little cleanliness.
The aesthetic cozy and homely feeling wouldn’t be there if the restaurant was any larger.
We ordered Kolkata Bhetki Fry which was the best I have ever had with minimum oil. One cannot go wrong with that.
Then we had Mishti Pulao, Dab Chingri and Murgir Ghoti Gorom. Dab Chingri is a must for anyone to try. But the not so popular Murgir Ghoti Gorom is as good as any. One would think the amount of garlic they use is too much but the flavor with burnt garlic and mustard oil, is something different. The combination we ordered was perfect.
Their portion size is perfect for 2. Neither less, nor extra.
Probably one of the few restaurants where the food will be worth the money you pay.
