Went there for buying cakes before christmas, foods were good and price reasonable, staff's were co-operative,place was clean and Elegant, washroom and smoking chember available. They were accepting only cards and cash at that time.

Loved the Belgium Pastry which is their signature! The place is quiet and well maintained. The hospitality was great. I would totally recommend going there if you’re looking for a good ambiance with less people around!

The confectionery store is the one of the oldest store ( Great Eastern Hotel) in Kolkata and the bakery store was newly opened by Lalit Group.
The store has huge confectionery items and the store maintains cleanliness and hygiene. You can also see here some oldest pictures of Kolkata city and those are bonus.

Oldest bakery of India. Started by Mr Wilson undee the name.if Great eastern bakery is as old as the British East India company. Name maintained due to the heritage value even though ownership passed from hand to hand and curently under management of the Lalit.
Very beautifully decorated in minimalist style , the bakery opens doors at 8 am and closes at 2100 hrs.
All the dishes are delicious and pastries and cakes have been famous for last two hundred years.
Service is very polite and prompt. Must try their fish and chips. As well as pastries.
Everyday you get all the pastries at half rate after 6.30 pm.
Dining in is an experience not to be missed.

From the Victorian era which was almost from the 80's the place was famous fro the bakery items the most famous cakes all over kolkata was from this bakey which was the great Eastern bakery. Till now the old age people's and uncles know about it. Coming to recent times this place is also famous as it has started a bar inside it and as famous for the LGBTQ Community there is a party organized by keshav suri sir known as the pink party it is very famous. So one can come with a minimum entry fee and enjoy it.

Nice bakery. Sweet and tasty cakes, pastries are available here with high quality.
